Super petit endroit au bout d'une route calme, à quelques pas de la rive du réservoir. Pas de commodités

Great little place at the end of a quiet road, a short walk from the shore of the reservoir. No amenities

Toller kleiner Ort am Ende einer ruhigen Straße, nur einen kurzen Spaziergang vom Ufer des Stausees entfernt. Keine Annehmlichkeiten

As far as we can see, there are no overnight signs up and no gate. Nice little park up, but will move on if told to.

  • 3/5

We stayed here 31/7 but forgot to review. Really nice spot but security for the water company who own the reservoir came round late in the evening saying they'd soon put up 'no overnight'' signs.

  • 5/5

Nice spot, very level and green, surrounded by sheep pastures, however we were told by the authorities that from now on overnight stays would be forbidden

  • 4/5

Quiet place to watch the sunset and walk around the reservoir Road bumpy to get there still nice up

  • 1/5

Unfortunately there is now no overnight parking at the reservoir car park. The gates are locked at 20:30 and signs warn that security personnel will enforce this. The nearby Sharpham Road Car Park beside the tennis club is available.

  • 4/5

Beautiful park up, we are local so love to visit this spot. 30 minute, Short walk directly in to cheddar. 8 vans in total for the night, but they come and go at 3am slamming doors with torches. Some had fires, left their rubbish, their stuff was left everywhere. Please take your rubbish and be respectful before the farmers/council ban overnight parking for here.

May 2022. Great little stopover. Quiet and peaceful location, watching the sheep grazing in the fields. No services but nice to be away from the busy town. Only one other van there.

  • 5/5

Definitely worth catching the sunset! Very quiet and nice walk around the reservoir - takes about an hour :)

  • 5/5

Amazing little place, only van here but space for only a few. Quiet & peaceful with beautiful views. only 20mins from my home so will be a regular im sure :)

  • 5/5

We really liked it. It was peaceful, the reservoir is up a small steep hill but it's beautiful, in fact easier going up than down but worth it. As already mentioned the road is narrow and bumpy but ok if taken slowly. We'd happily go back

  • 4/5

Great little stop over. Parking spot between a field full of sheep, and the reservoir. Good location for cheddar town centre, and only a short ride to cheddar gorge. No amenities, no discouraging signs, and locals seem friendly.

  • 5/5

Really lovely little secluded spot. The road is bumpy and hedges overgrown but got our Renault traffic LWB through easily. Space for 4/5 campers. Foot path straight up to cheddar reservoir for 2.2mile loop walk. Saw a few walkers and joggers and the farmer tending his sheep in the am. Two other campers also stayed the night. Great spot

  • 3/5

Good spot but only if you don't mind narrow and very bumpy roads. Grass and plants scratching the side of the car. apart from this, good spot. :)

  • 5/5

Beautiful little hide away. Once you climb up the hill, you are stunned by the views and a perfect place to have a lovely walk. Perfect for a quiet night sleep.

  • 5/5

A lovely peaceful spot below the reservoir. Lots of sheep wandering in the fields around and about but no hassle and a great nights sleep. Would recommend!

  • 5/5

Great spot for a night. Stayed last night! No hassle, very quiet apart from the sheep and a beautiful resovoir up the bank!

  • 5/5

I believe the person below went to the main car park where new signage to this effect has been added. We stayed at this car park (location on map is accurate) and there is no signage, except to take your litter home! : )

  • 1/5

There is a sign saying all vehicles must leave by 8:30pm and is patrolled by security. Shame it looked a lovely spot.

  • 5/5

Really peaceful spot for the night, right next to the reservoir

  • 4/5

Plenty of space for a few campers! Slightly odd location at the end of a little track, but no problems at all & easy to walk into town & on to the gorge

  • 5/5

What an amazing place surrounded buy sheep and beautiful landscapes lots of space for easily 8 vans

  • 4/5

Attractive a little busy 4g lots of lambs quiet night

  • 5/5

Stayed here for the night last year. It was great. A few other vans as it was summer solstice. Police came by saying we weren’t allowed to be out of our dwelling due to COVID but I said my van was my dwelling. They didn’t move us on. Nice walk around the reservoir and good sunset. Would stay here again.

  • 5/5

A really nice spot just below the reservoir in a wooded area. Bumpy road there but manageable. There were two other campers there but plenty of space. Very quiet night. On our way out in the morning we were met by a very disgruntled woman who owns the fields next to the road claiming that campervans are ruining the area and the road. There are not any signs stating no overnight parking isn’s allowed or that it’s a private road. Other than that all the other people around were friendly and smiley.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot to spend the night, short walk up to the beautiful reservoir, a great place to watch the sunset. Was not disturbed for whole night and was only one other camper staying the night. Did have some runners and dog walkers in the morning but other than that very nice stay.

  • 5/5

Beautiful quiet spot for a few campers at the end of a country lane beside Cheddar Reservoir. Lovely 2.2 Mike walk around reservoir. No facilities.

  • 5/5

Beautiful sunrise and sunset. Easy to get to. Very close to Cheddar.

  • 5/5

Lovely little spot. room a few small campers and a couple of biguns. we parked under the massive oak tree as we arrived late. made for a interesting nights sleep with acorns dropping off every few minutes:) otherwise a lovely place to wake up in.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot although it was busy. 3 cars and another camper when we arrived and several others had a look and left but 3 others did actually stay. Safe spot and close to the reservoir with sheep wandering freely

  • 5/5

Great place arrived at 9ish two other campers there, friendly locals and campers friendly. Reservoir just over the bank great views lots of sheep

  • 4/5

Great and calm place. Arrived late night. 2 other vans were there. In the morning lots of dog walkers, hikers and goats. No issues with locals. No signs of private road as well.

  • 5/5

Beautiful, peaceful spot. Right below the bank to the reservoir, which was a gorgeous place to wake up to/walk around. A few friendly passers-by, friendly ~ returned our greetings and joked around. Some other campers whilst we were there.

  • 3/5

DO NOT USE - we parked here last night and upon leaving this morning a disgruntled local advised it was a private road maintained by residents who do not want motorhomes/camper and using it, it’s a farm access road only. Shame, others were using it to, lovely evening sunset and quiet spot with the sheep!

  • 4/5

The lane going down to the park up was a bit bumpy with potholes so drive carefully other than that is a easy place to get to. Only us and one other camper but room for 5-7 other campers. Quiet area besides the sheep and occasional dog walker. Access to reservoir from the carpark over a stile and a 10 second walk up the bank as well as plenty of other footpaths connecting. Some shade is provided by the trees.

  • 5/5

Good spot. Spent one night. 4 vans in total. Quiet and next to the reservoir for a walk.

  • 5/5

Spent night here 1 other van turned up was a peaceful night spent with the lambs

  • 5/5

Great spot, arrived at 20:30 very quiet with one other van here. Nice two mile walk around the reservoir directly up the bank. Sheep were noisy but made it feel more remote.

  • 5/5

Very peaceful spot in the middle of nowhere, felt like we were driving forever up the narrow lane. Lovely walk to the reservoir over the style by the parking spot. Only us and one more van so very quiet lay here listening to the sheep.

  • 5/5

Great spot. 2 other campers here as well.

  • 5/5

Quiet and not busy - one other van here too. Be prepared for potholes down the lane, and goats!

  • 5/5

Lovely spot! stayed here for two nights. some nice walks and views. There are some people walking by but nights and mornings are quite. Also possiblity for a campfire on the gravel. And lots of sheep; béêèh!

  • 3/5

Fine place to stay before we went to see cheddar gorge. Compared to some of the other places we have been the views was not spectacular but it was alright.

  • 3/5

We went there twice. The last time (a Saturday) there where eight of us...

  • 4/5

This is a lovely and secluded spot. The walk around the reservoir is nice. However lots of people left used toilet roll in the hedges - please clean up after yourselves

  • 5/5

Très bon endroit discret au bout très étroite pas recommandée pour les grands campings cars. J y suis resté 2 nuits. La 2eme nuits, nous étions 4 vans !
