Location is wonderful, but be really careful for rockslides! The lady of a restaurant nearby informed us about yesterdays rockslide. She offered us to stay at her place.
Bel endroit pour commencer la randonnée dans la vallée de Truso. Nous avons passé une nuit paisible ici, juste au bord de la rivière et en face du village presque abandonné. La femme du centre d'accueil de Kasbegi a déclaré que nous pouvions conduire jusqu'à la vallée sans 4x4, mais c'était l'endroit le plus éloigné que nous avons pu atteindre. La route est cahoteuse mais faisable avec suffisamment de soin et de patience. Certains touristes se garent ici pour faire de la randonnée mais la nuit il n'y a personne.
Nice place to start trekking in the Truso Valley. We had a peaceful night here, right by the river and in front of the almost abandoned village. The woman from the Kasbegi Visitor Center said that we could drive to the valley without a 4x4, but it was the furthest place we could reach. The road is bumpy but feasible with enough care and patience. Some tourists park here for hiking but at night there is no one.
Schöner Ort, um Trekking im Truso Valley zu beginnen. Wir hatten hier eine friedliche Nacht, direkt am Fluss und vor dem fast verlassenen Dorf. Die Frau vom Kasbegi Visitor Center sagte, dass wir ohne 4x4 ins Tal fahren könnten, aber es war der weiteste Ort, den wir erreichen könnten. Die Straße ist holprig, aber mit genügend Sorgfalt und Geduld machbar. Einige Touristen parken hier zum Wandern, aber nachts ist niemand da.
Un buen lugar para comenzar a caminar hacia el valle de Truso. Pasamos una noche tranquila aquí, justo al lado del río y frente al pueblo casi abandonado. La mujer del Centro de Visitantes en Kasbegi dijo que podíamos conducir hasta el Valle sin un 4x4, pero esto fue lo más lejos que llegamos. El camino está lleno de baches pero se puede hacer con suficiente cuidado y paciencia. Algunos turistas se estacionan aquí para caminar, pero por la noche no hay nadie.
Leuke plek om te gaan wandelen in de Truso-vallei. We hadden een rustige nacht hier, vlak bij de rivier en voor het bijna verlaten dorp. De vrouw van het Kasbegi Visitor Center zei dat we zonder een 4x4 naar de vallei konden rijden, maar het was de verste plaats die we konden bereiken. De weg is hobbelig maar haalbaar met voldoende zorg en geduld. Sommige toeristen parkeren hier om te wandelen, maar 's nachts is er niemand.

edelweissontheroad05/07/2023that road is quite something. not difficult to drive even with a 2WD w/ low clearance (as ours) as it is a) flat and b) many ways around a deep pot hole. wouldn't drive it after/during heavy rain tho, as the road turns into a slippery mudfest. the adventure for a 2WD w/ low clearance stops at that bridge. the overnight spot itself is...ok, nothing fancy and it is quite busy during the day.
Baltus30/06/2023Prachtige plek. Alleen de weg ernaartoe is waardeloos! Uiteindelijk gelukt met onze Boxer L4H2 maar op de terugweg in stromende regen een grote modderbende! Kuilen en gaten, niet fijn maar goed...... De hike is de moeite waard!
BuscandoNRuta29/06/2023La pista está en bastante mal estado, pero aún así, con paciencia pudimos llegar con nuestra Jumper 2WD. La caminata por el valle hasta la fortaleza merece mucho la pena. Lo que no valió tanto la pena es que en el camino de regreso a la carretera principal tuvimos la mala suerte de romper el cárter con una piedra que había dentro de un gran charco, así que ten cuidado...

Wir haben die Straße im Juni 2023 mit unserem 6m Ducato ohne Allrad geschafft. Auf dem ersten Abschnitt fahren jedoch viele LKW, der Boden ist teilweise extrem matschig mit tiefen Furchen. Es ist sinnvoll das Wetter im Auge zu behalten. Auf Steinschlag am Stellplatz achten und die lieben, aber scheuen streunenden Hunde füttern.

Really nice, good starting point for hiking in Truso Valley. Approach is bumpy but possible for all vans. Very cold in November because the spot is in the shade during the entire afternoon. But beautiful views.
YakaYaller18/09/2022calme au départ de la rando de la vallée de truso , enfin sauf si vous avez 1 petit van, 4x4 vous pourrez aller plus loin. nous avons fait la vallée de truso en vtt, parfait ! s il pleut choisir un emplacement en amont à cause des chutes de pierres sur ce parking. Accès un peu chaotique mais ok sans 4x4 !

Wir standen 100 Meter weiter vorne. Morgens hatte wir einen tollen Blick auf den Kazbegi. Das Truso Tal ist super zum Wandern. Achtung bei Regen auf Steinschlag.
thetravely10/08/2022Wunderschönes Tal! Es gibt eine Vielzahl an schönen Stellplätzen entlang der Straße, die zu diesem Ort führt. Schotterpiste mit einigen Schlaglöchern - bei vorsichtiger Fahrweise jedoch für jedes Fahrzeug machbar. Von der Brücke ins Truso Tal hinein braucht es bei trockenen Verhältnissen keinen Allrad, jedoch hohe Bodenfreiheit.

Vorsicht Steinschlag - wir wurden von einem Einheimischen gewarnt. ein bisschen weiter vorne kann aber ohne Gefahr geparkt werden. ansonsten ein sehr schöner Platz. Anfahrt ist möglich (auch ohne 4x4), einfach langsam.
fikidd07/09/2021If you cross the bridge and carry on up the valley there are beautiful and flat spots further along. The road is passable as long as you have a decent clearance, don’t need a 4x4 just take it slowly. This spot is being used by workers so busy during the day.

Der Weg dorthin ist in der Tat nicht so gut, wenn man langsam fährt aber auf jeden Fall machbar. Wir haben eine sehr ruhige Nacht dort verbracht.
