BonnieandPatchy27/03/2024Amazing spot! Beautiful view and only down the road from Goathland! I wasn't bothered by anyone and I was there throughout the afternoon into late morning. Others come and go to enjoy the view/ have a snack. The only down side was another van came later and had a fire next to the open moorland and played loud music till late - suppose that's just the luck of the draw! would use it again!

Spent a fantastic night here with the most incredible views across the moors. We even timed it right to see the steam train pass through the valley. No facilities and a cattle grid close by but the roads were quiet by half 8 until around 7 and although there were 4 other vans we never heard a peep even the sheep went to sleep before us.
noname5322/07/2023Vue magnifique sur la lande mais présence de midges qui nous ont gâché l’apéro et impossible de manger dehors à cause de ces petites bêtes envahissantes, aucun problème le lendemain matin. Un peu bruyant pour la nuit car un poil trop près de la route, il y a une autre place plus loin mais directement sur la route qui est certes moins passante mais le traffic reprend tôt. Très belles randonnées possibles.
casper202210/07/2023Absolutely fantastic! Gorgeous spot, quiet once you get used to the cattle grid, friendly sheep and a yummy ice cream van. Flat surface, friendly locals and no bins. The pictures don’t do it justice at all, we will definitely return. 11/10 haha!!

Perfect place to chill out yes there is a cattle grid but to be honest after 10 mins you don’t notice it
MikaeloFFA24/11/2022Pause pour une nuit plutôt calme. La circulation reprend tôt le matin, et le bruit de la grille pour les animaux aussi mais ça va. La belle vu au réveil compense !
Littlefran29/08/2022Lovely parking spot. Stayed 28.08. 4 other vans already there at 9pm. Nice peaceful night only noise was cars going over the cattle grid. Beautiful to wake up to

Beautiful views over the moors and as others have mentioned, the cattle grid is the only noise to be heard but that's not a problem late on. Shame to see a dog poo bag left there which we took with us when we left with our own rubbish.. A car and a van parked next to us after 10pm and urinated outside.. gross. Hopefully these types of people are a rarity..

Traumhaft schöner Sonnenuntergang in einer atemberaubenden Umgebung mit Weiden und Schafen (teilweise auf der Straße). Nachts so gut wie kein Verkehr. Die Polizei kam auf Patrouille vorbei, aber hat bestätigt, dass übernachten erlaubt ist. Eine nette Unterhaltung gehabt.

Beautiful views and lovely sheep as neighbours. As others have mentioned there's the cattle grid noise. We stayed late October so an early sunset and the clear skies meant several cars were coming and going to photograph the sunset and then the stars. One other van stayed the same night

Stayed one night. nobody around. Tiny bit of traffic noise from the main road. In the open as well so can get a bit blowy on the wind.

Stayed here for one night with 2 other vans. during the day the road is busy but after 7pm it was quiet - it is right next to the cattle grid though so the noise might annoy some people. Lovely views and can watch the grouse and pheasants wandering around (they nest on the ground in the heather so dogs must be kept on leads). Not a spot I would rush back to but still deserves a high rating.

Stayed for one night with 1 other van. Can hear the cars driving over the cattle grids, but not much traffic during the night.

Amazing panoramic views! An Ice Cream van is present during the day but no other services. We stayed for 1 peaceful night with no problems.

Stayed for 1 night, no other cars/campers parked alongside us. beautiful views of the moors dotted with sheep, but could hear cars/trucks driving along the main road in the evening

Looks really nice but it was full when we arrived with a couple of vans and lots of cars. A few hundred metres along the road towards Whitby there are three paved pull-ins. We spent the night in one of these. Nice short walk down to the river.

Free rest area with no signs. Blue Bank car park was closed due to nearby roadworks and found this rest area. Parked up at 7pm with no one around and stayed for the night. Slight noise from road and cattle grid but views are incredible. Also popular during the day with people regularly pulling up for photos and dog walks.
