Car Park on Orton Fell, no facilities just great views of the Lake District and the Pennines. Good for dogs in winter, 31 March to 31 July on a lead due to ground nesting birds, obviously sheep sometimes too. A 15 min walk to Orton Memorial

Beautiful sunset spot, easy to get to from m6. Not very level so big buses may struggle. It's good for dogs so used as my motorway break on way to Scotland.

Good spot! A few pull ins up the road from one another so plenty of space to go around. Really lovely views and very quiet, the only noise being the nearby road. The ground is a little uneven but a perfect place for a nights stay.

second time staying here, very quiet but very windy and often wet. beautiful views and no other campers, but lots of dog walkers in the morning.

Stayed for one night on the gravel road 100 meters away from the man road.

Great spot! A little windy but close to the Tebay services for facilities!

Great spot day or night. On top of the moors superb 360 views.

Extremely windy and rainy up there. Really hard to sleep. Quite uneven also. Only for an emergency place to stop.

Great stop over, only just off the motorway and is easy to find! it was on a road but we didn't even hear it. views were lovely also which is a bonus. we were the only camper there but along the road was a couple of other places which did have fellow campers in!

Lots of road noise kept me up but great views and OK as a 1 nighter as we ran out of time to find somewhere a little quieter

Great nights sleep, perfect little spot.

Super place to pitch up. Quiet and very dark at night. Popular but not over run with people.

Amazing views and amazing sunset. We had the whole car park to ourselves overnight, a few locals come for walks but everyone’s friendly. Very quiet road too

Quiet, plenty of space with an amazing view. We stopped overnight on the way to Scotland which was perfect as it’s not too far from the motorway. Very few cars passing, no hassle, we felt safe here.

Amazing views from the top of the road between Orton and Appleby. The parking is gravel and not all equally level, so pick your spot carefully. In windy weather it's open so if you have a pop top bear that in mind. No services, closest public toilet is in Orton village. No bins, please take your rubbish with you.

Great views. We were confused as to why people honk as they drive by but once we realised it was because of the many sheep that keep wandering in the road we got used to it. A nice spot for an overnight on route to Scotland.
