Parking yes, camping no!!

Konnten hier problemlos eine Nacht stehen. Allerdings ist der Parkplatz unter den Stromtrassen nicht wirklich schön, war für uns nur eine Notlösung.

Es wurde seit Neuesten (war vor ca. 4 Wochen hier, da gab es noch kein Schild) ein Schild angebracht dass Campieren verboten ist. Es gibt einen Einheimischen der mit wilder Gestik und Artikulierung die Leute verjagt.

Wir haben hier auch für eine Nacht gestanden und sind um 7 Uhr morgens von einem Mann geweckt worden - wir dürften dort nicht stehen. Tatsächlich stand an einer von 5 möglichen Einfahrten auf den Parkplatz ein Schild, dass zelten und campen verboten ist. Wir haben dann auf den Hauptparkplatz der Gondel umgesetzt. Hier steht kein Verbotsschild.

An alle Skifahrer: Es ist auch im Winter erlaubt hier Nachts stehen zu bleiben. Auf dem großen Liftparkplatz vorne an ist es WoMos leider verboten zu Parken, aber dort ist es eh ziemlich laut weil Abends Apreski in den Hütten rundherum gefeiert wird ;-)

Gute Parkmöglichkeit direkt am Maiskogellift. Zentrum und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gut fußläufig erreichbar. Übernachten problemlos möglich.

Had a great quiet night here. Free parking and 3 other other campers were here. Right at the access to the ski field with restaurants nearby and toilets at the Bergbahn ~100m away.

Wir haben hier für 1 Nacht gestanden. Und zwar auf dem großen Parkplatz rechts bevor man zu diesem Parkplatz kommt. Er war heller erleuchtet und es standen noch mehr Wohnmobile dort. Nachts war es ruhig. Ein guter Ausgangspunkt um mit dem Roller alles zu erkunden. Wir haben gut gestanden.

Most likely, this is actually the only parking which does not yet have any "camper- forbidden" signs, though that may be just a matter of time! Unfortunately the whole area around Kaprun and Zell am See is not welcoming campervans, most parking have camper- or overnight- stay- forbidden signs, and there are not camperspots other then rather expensive camping- sites. This is really a pity, as the area as such is very beautiful with overwhelming nature. This parking is used by trucks and busses, also as turning point, so during the day relatively busy. Between 23h00 and 06h00 quiet enough to have a decent sleep, but during the day relatively loud as quite some traffic passes by, both on the mainroad as on the little road directly at the parking. Closeby you can find a supermarket and the entrance of the gondela going up the Maiskogel- Mountain. You can walk to the Sigmund Thun Gorge, which is 2,5- 3km away (30Min walk). The area is flat and gravelled, absolutely okay for one or two nights. I would not stay any longer just to avoid any kind of potential discussion with the strict austrian police and I would heavily recommend to avoid any kind of typical camping behaviour (no chairs, table, grill outside). Just use it as a parking for the night. No trashbins, so take your garbage with you! No services.
