As a “local resident” of this area it’s fantastic to see this FREE spot used extensively & obviously enjoyed. However, this morning I am dismayed to see many units with seats/loungers & tables all out & some having breakfast. The local government council has already shut down a Free spot further along the coast for misuse. Can I please ask all Motor-homers to refrain from misuse - otherwise closure

Lots of space stayed a Friday night with no issues from young ones in cars , quite exposed, lovely views.

Super stopover and Bangor is a lovely town. For services you can go to Donaghadee a few miles away, also lovely town with interesting camera oscura at weekends (free). Great for day trips into Belfast.

Ziemlich windiger Ort, flach zum stehen, Jugendliche bis ca 11 pm dann ruhig und gut für eine Nacht

  • 5/5

Great overnight spot. Beautiful view of Belfast Harbour. Lots of spaces, with plenty of other campers nearby. The Jamaica Inn, across the road is a worth the visit.

I don't know how this place has so many 4 and 5 star reviews when so many mention the music and boy racers. We stayed on a Tuesday night and the music went on until 2am, the cars continued to come and go all night! At around 11.30pm one car pulled into the space next to us a blared music for 15 mins. We were the only camper there and should have moved, definitely will not be back.

spent a night here. there were 4 other campers. excellent spot. quiet. accessible to city centre by 18 mins walk. would return.

2 night stay, quite carpark for the most part. Can be busy with people watching sunset until after 11PM perhaps but peaceful and qu to overnight. Nothing to worry about. Fantastic opportunity to see both sunset & rise from this location. Toilets open 8AM daily & close at 7PM (May-Aug.), 5min. Walk beyond boat club. Maxol garage, ballyholme Rd. Opens 6AM-midnight, has a customer toilet also.

We stayed here 27/10/22 and we had a pleasant stay. Few cars playing music but that was early in the night and it didn’t bother us. There was a coffee hut nearby.

  • 5/5

stayed here. pulled in late saturday night, plenty of spaces. quiet overnight and set up chairs at the water to watch the sunrise.

what an awesome view to wake up to. sunrise over the sea in a clear blue sky.... Popular spot with many, and for good reason. the toilet facilities are a five minute walk away but were closed. buy yourself a radar key to access disabled toilets as they were still available. met a pleasant man on a Sunday morning who gave us our next destination. one of the best stays of vanlife so far.

Parked in larger car park. Five other vans too. Arrived in the afternoon and stayed for one night. Some comings and goings late evening but settled down. Great view and ten minute walk into town though pub/restaurant close by. Toilet block (clean) about 200 yds opens at eight.

This is indeed a very nice spot to stay the night; very quite, with a lovely view to wake up to in the morning.

Parked up here for afternoon and overnight 15 minutes walk into town went to the Jamaica Inn just down the road highly recommended some boy racers with loud music (just like being in a festival) later in the evening but never bothered us.

Superb place and rather quiet for a Saturday night. Plenty of space for large MHs. Just missed some toilets nearby.

  • 4/5

Excellent views across the sea and short walk into Bangor town. Flat parking suitable for vans. A busy spot with people parking up to enjoy the views. It was noisy with a group of youths between 11-12pm on a Monday night but it was quiet afterwards.

  • 5/5

Bathrooms less than 10 minutes away, full 4G service, great view and felt safe.

  • 5/5

We stayed here for 2 nights. Great views out to sea. 10 mins or so to walk into town, and there’s a pub nearby. Lots of cars until late on our first night, and a few local kids during the day, but we had no problems. No facilities other than a bin, but there are public loos a couple of minutes walk away towards Ballyholme (not 24 hours). Would definitely use this again.

  • 5/5

Stayed last night - was nice & quite with 3 other MHs also. Nice walks along shore and into Bangor town

  • 3/5

Good spot to arrive late and leave early. Convenient to Bangor.

  • 5/5

Terrific spot, three campers here this evening for the sunset and very friendly. Short walk to the town and two bar/restaurants within sight. Cars coming and going to enjoy the view, but overall quiet.
