nowhere to empty grey waste. not the quietest with traffic and Lidl delivery lorries until after 11pm, all less than 50 mtrs away BUT still a great stop, 100 mtrs to bus stop to get to Scarborough, 300 mtrs to nice town ctr, level parking, toilet emptying. friendly staff. can't easily fill freshwater unless you have a hose probably over 25 mtrs. even with the delivery lorries would visit again
Unfortunately there is nowhere to empty the gray water, except for in the black water waste cupboard which is along the alley. they have a bin for general rubbish. people were very friendly, but they had no idea how I was going to get the gray water from the van up the alley into their cupboard, which is also too far away to use my hose for fresh water, their hose was filthy so I didn't use it.
Ideal place for a stop over, £12 for 24 hours and in the middle of town.

brilliant stopover right in center of Pickering. Not for you if you're a light sleeper due to wagons offloading all night at lidle across the street. Fresh water available and somewhere to dump your waste, rubbish etc. Bargain at £12 for 24 hrs, not £15 as stated.
Five stars because it provides all you need in the town centre of Pickering. Lidl and the town were quiet so slept well. Friendly staff at bike shop very helpful.
Spent one night here £15 for 24hrs including disposal of waste. Felt secure on the car park but it was so noisy. Noise from the roads plus traffic to and from Lidl. Also late night and early morning deliveries. We disposed of grey and black water but did not fill up our fresh water as the hose is lying next to the waste disposal and did not think it very clean. Personally would only stay again if I was desperate as I’ve had quieter nights in lay-bys
great location and stop over, however, at time of writing, the pin is pointing to a pay and display car park not the big bear car park. the actual location of the big bear car park is directly behind the big bear shop as per people's photos. the headline is also incorrect as it is not the car park behind lidl. lidl is nearby, but has its own car park on the other side of the road. thanks folks.
Had 1 night here 22/2/25 great stopover . No noise very handy for the restaurants , takeaways and pubs. Will be using again
Our second time here, everything you need for a short stay allowing you to visit the town of Pickering. Flat hard standing & felt secure. Coop & Lidl plus cafes & bars….Bike shop definitely worth a look around too :)
Stayed for one night. Lidl is literally across the road. Really close to North Yorks Railway. It's close to a road but we weren't disturbed by traffic noise. Can pre book online or pay in the shop, really friendly staff. Felt safe and secure and we will definitely stay again when in the area. Highly recommended.
Excellent for an overnight stop in Pickering. 5 other campervans when we arrived at 20:30 but no problem as the car park is quite large. Good value, safe feel and super handy for the town. Friendly staff at the cycle shop.

Handy place to stop over , large carpark to the rear of Big BearBikes , busy all around but quiet through the night , right next door to Lidls so very convenient, Pickering was nice enough but not a lot going on , £12 in an envelope through the letterbox of the bike shop as it was a Sunday , water & grey waste disposal available .

Great little stopover for Pickering, flat easy access £12 for 24 hours, close to Lidl and walking distance to a lovely Indian restaurant, we stopped before going up to dalby forest for day and had a quiet night with very little traffic noise, will definitely stay again

Had 2 nights with friends here ,it’s a big car park ,ideal for visiting Pickering,short walk to pubs and restaurants,Lidl is very close too,some were to empty toilet and get fresh water ,you pay in the bike shop and the staff are very helpful would definitely recommend this place and we will definitely be coming back.
flat carpark tucked round the back of the shop, felt like a secure location. lovely chap's in shop. if you are looking for a quiet spot this isn't it, Lidl lorries quite late at night, lots of traffic and bottle bank nearby. perfect location for town and getting train to Whitby. tap and elsan point a bonus.
Good aire wish every town had one. Easy to miss the turn but the carpark is directly behind the bike shop. There is a dump and water hose available. We found it very quite overnight until the Lidl truck arrived at 5 am. We found Pickering great to explore and relatively central for the railway and Castle Howard.
Perfect little Aire, Its in their own carpark at back of shop. The access is just before the main carpark at the opposite side to lidle. Tight gate entrance but plenty if room for our 7.7m. The shop was open so went in and paid the manager. £12 24hrs. fresh water,waste points. Very quiet night sleep. Town has plenty of coffee shops a few pubs and restaurants, and access to the Steam Railway.
Easy access, opposite Lidl carpark, and just before entrance to Council CarPark on the right, paid £5 for all day, with option to pay further £7 to stay overnight. Shop staff lovely & gave us the key code. We used the CTD point, but couldn’t use GWD point as too far away from our MH (located side by side with CTD). Fresh water available from hosepipe if you can park near enough to service cubicle.
Parked in the council owned car park next to the Big Bear Bikes car Park. No charges between 18:30 and 09:00. No restrictions posted on the information boards next to the meter. No facilities. Nice and flat. Quiet on Saturday night

Car park, with white, grey and black facilities. £12 24 hours. Lower fees for shorter stops. Lovely helpful staff. Great bikes in the shop :-). Steam railway station and castle ruins in town. Mathewsons vehicle auction room couple of miles down the road. Scarborough ~15 miles. Great stop off point.
Excellent and rare find of a facility in the UK where you can dump grey and black waters and fill up with fresh drinking water without needing to stay overnight if not needed. Paid £5 for few hours stop and facilities. Convenient location to walk around this pleasant town for a couple of hours and to see Pickering Castle. Friendly staff! Costs £12 to stay for 24 hours. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent central location, very helpful Bike shop owners who said we were fine to stay free of charge for a few hours as they weren’t open. We will be back again to explore more of the area.
Great location in centre of Pickering with really friendly and helpful staff. Facility to top up water and dispose of waste. Walled parking cross the road from supermarket so handy for supplies also close to pubs, restaurants and shops. Very quiet from about 10pm onwards. Everything you need.
Great stop off at back of shop. great owner. elsan, grey waste and fresh water fill up. £12 for day and night. wish there were more like him. gives you code for facilities. was a few Van's when we stopped. only down fall was delivery van for lidl across road. once they went great nights sleep, will definitely use again.
Central Pickering stop over with shops, pubs, restaurant and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway all within 5 minute walk. Run by friendly helpful people.
We spent the night from Saturday to Sunday. Plenty of room and good facilities for black water disposal. No apparent outside water connection making it impossible to fill by hose to Motorhome. However, inside water tap is available. Sadly, the noise of artics unloading at midnight to the neighbouring LIDL store and the same at 07:00 prevented a decent sleep!
