We stopped for a night here. We found Lindsay (the warden on duty) to be very lovely, helpful and knowledgeable. We had plot 27 which meant we looked out over the water. In the park there was no litter and all nice and clean, The bathrooms and showers were absolutely spotless, clean, fresh, warm and modern. We had a lovely peaceful night. The town is definitely worth a visit. We will be back.
Lovely little campsite that does have EHU, hard and grass pitches, all other amenities too. Walkable to fish and chip shop and bars and restaurants. Very helpful warden. Beautiful views over a lake, play area for children and park for dog walks.
£30 a night to park on a piece of grass wirh no hook up. This is a public park.
This is a lovely site, partly because warden was so friendly & welcoming. Had a fabulous shower & facilities were spotless. Site has a dish wash area, washing machine £4, tumble drier £3 & rotary clothes line. I had pitch 27 facing over loch & the town of Castle Douglas is within a 5 minutes walk. There is a walk alongside the loch & a children’s play ground. £25 a night low season without EHU.
Zweckmäßig ist was mir in den Sinn kommt. Die Bilder machen einen falschen Eindruck. Es gibt wohl diese Plätze, aber der Großteil ist in geteerte Parkbuchten. Man kommt zu Fuß gut in die Innenstadt und zum See. Es gibt viele Dauercamper. Eine Nacht ohne Strom, Van und 2 Personen 28£. Entsorgung primitiv und in die Jahre gekommen. Für eine Notlösung OK. gezielt hierher eher nicht.
Lovely quiet caravan site, £20 for the night. Close to town and a walk round the Loch on the doorstep! Really clean facilities, which are all included in the price of stay!!
Shocking over priced public space, we thought this would be a secure camping place. Wrong. The whole place is open to the public and we had best part of 50 teenagers passing our van Saturday night on their way to skatepark. Instead of going out we had to stay in looking after our van. Our pitch was disgusting where someone had left having had awning out for a month. it was a yellow lump of mud
