Overlooking the very picturesque and peaceful bay, picnic benches as well as various walking paths.
There are 2 carparks, 1 for disabled parking and other for all vehicles plus 7 pitches reserved for overnight stays of all vehicles but noone adheres to this and it's a bit of a free for all parking overnight but as long as you have a ticket the wardens don't seem to be able to do anything. if your looking for a quiet get away this is NOT the place ! goes like a fayre and a free for all at night. Really disappointed as its such a beautiful area.
5 minute walk to ship inn across the bay, longer at low tide.
Toilets open overnight. Drinking water tap available. The inspector was already there at half past five. They also do the rounds in the evening make sure you have a ticket displayed and are in a bay to make the experience pleasurable for all !!!

Stayed here 1 night in my motorhome walks along the coast were so nice and an easy walk ,car park was very quiet after 8pm after all day visitors had been n gone defo a place I will return too. Paid my £10 charge for overnight parking at the meter by contactless payment

  • 5/5

Stayed here for two nights. Friday 24th October was quiet with three vans. Saturday 25th was full with extra vans staying out with the designated bays. £10 a night fantastic value. Fife council should be commended for their support for Motorhome stopovers and the facilities they provided

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Beautiful location. Immaculate toilets. Did not stay the night but enjoyed a couple of hours walking the coastal path and exploring the historical sites.

  • 5/5

Beautiful location, clean facilities. Had a lovely chat with the gentleman who checks the parking lot and he explained that each vehicle should be parked centrally on each marker for the camping bays. It’s not necessarily intuitive and he recognises that and so wasn’t very strict about enforcing the exactness of each camper’s spacing in the bays. Phew!

  • 5/5

Great place but very busy with the 7 designated bays all taken by 4pm on a blustery September week day. Decided not to risk a fine but many others taking that chance. Looks a perfect location

  • 4/5

Busy, we shared a bay with another van, warden came round and was just checking folk had paid, they didn't mind there was for vans than spaces

  • 5/5

A brilliant park-up. Signs have changed. It's now free to park all day and £10 from 10pm to 7am. The warden came round at 8.30pm checking tickets. We liked it so much, we stayed 2 nights. Warden came round at 8am on the 2nd day. Lots of vans arrived to overnight without reading the signage. We would definitely stay here again, one of our favourite park-ups now.

  • 1/5

Left at 11pm - very disappointed. Teenagers camping right next to our designated bay. Loud voices, music and the stench of drugs.

  • 3/5

Didn’t stay - the 7 designated spots were taken and at least 7 more were parked outside these. We are trying not to be part of the problems that get MHs banned in so many places. Thank you Fife for providing so many overnight places

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Nice spot but more campervans kept turning up and parking overnight out with the 7 designated bays. the rules seem clear on the signs no overnight parking out with bays so not sure if it's okay to pay the £10 and just park up or will you get a ticket. there was no tickets on the vans that were parked up.

  • 5/5

Sehr schöner Platz. Tolle Aussicht.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot on Elie’s coast. Clean toilet block with one remaining open at night. £10 a night which can be paid by card or cash via the machine. 7 official campervan parking spots so it gets full quickly. Many vans (myself included) parked outwith these official spots with no trouble (as long as you buy and get a ticket!). Tickets are checked so buy a ticket and keep the area clean please!

  • 5/5

Lovely spot, clean toilets. Well done to Fife authorities for providing this and many other park ups in the area. Hopefully it won't change as more camper/motorhome stays than the allowed and they don't bother paying either.

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Lovely spot for our Campervan. toilets spotless and a credit to those who look after them.

  • 5/5

Thanks to the local authority for providing this opportunity to stay overnight. Lovely spot with good views.

  • 5/5

Beautiful stopover, stunning views and close to small village. Chemical waste disposal is no longer allowed, after being abused apparently, which is a shame.

  • 5/5

Perfect stop over ! Good facilities and well spaced out, get there early if you want to stay overnight

  • 5/5

Nice spot on Ruby Bay , Elie in Fife If in doubt how to park and stay the night in Fife carparks with designated overnight van spaces, I checked with the man in charge Robbie Blyth, and you park the van nose or tail central to the plot marker post. (There was a bit of a to-do with a van next door at a different Fife carpark, anyway I was correct, thankfully)

  • 3/5

Unfortunately, 1 cubicle was shut, and we think it's where you empty your waste, I can't see anywhere else. Great views, free daytime parking.

  • 5/5

Had a great stay here, spent 2 nights plenty to see and walk to. Bays easy to park on a fantastic find

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Spent last night (20/04/2025) here, great location. Toilets, one open through the night, plenty of bins and recycling areas, designated disposal bins for bbq coals/ hot ashes. Great views over the sea. Plenty space, says only 7 overnighters in the designated bays but there was 9 last night and warden visited (was all good). Great walks along the coast to Lady Tower, some ruins and nice beaches.

  • 5/5

Great park up for the night. £10 per night with allocated motorhome bays. Ship inn well worth a visit for food and drinks about 5 mins walk away with excellent views from the outside seating area opposite the pub.

  • 5/5

Great overnight stopover. £10/night. 7 bays with plenty room. 24hr toilets on site. Short walk into the town. Couple of pubs/restaurants /shops. Nice stroll to lighthouse.

  • 5/5

great parking, a lot of walking area. clean toilets but opened just two. Definitely we are coming back.

  • 5/5

Great quiet spot, parking spots are spaced nicely from each. Good access to toilets which some remain open all night. Beautiful walk around the lighthouse and surrounding beaches.

  • 4/5

Took our van here for it's first adventure on 18/1/24. Lovely spot with plenty recycling. Sink for washing dishes located at the toilet block of which, 1 mixed toilet and one urinal is left open in the evening. You are in view of a lighthouse so front window covers would be advisable. I had great signal on both EE and 3 for streaming Netflix.

  • 2/5

Great in summer but annoying in winter. The toilet waste is locked all winter and only 1 toilet is open. The ticket inspector is there at 8am even in winter checking tickets. He is very abrupt and rude. He does not clean the toilets or open the waste toilet for campers. A waste of time in winter when you can park by the sea wall in the centre of town for free.

  • 5/5

We absolutely love this stop. Fantastic walks right from the van, what more can you ask for? The icing on the cake is that you’re within walking distance of two pubs and a deli! Please please please pay your £10 a night. We are very lucky in Fife to have a local authority that accomodates campervans. There is a warden patrolling and you could be fined for non-compliance. Thank you FFCT!

  • 5/5

Great location, peaceful overnight stay 7 pitches for vans, good public toilets. £10 payable at ticket machine for overnight stay, refuse and recycling point. Great beaches around car park, the lovely village and further beach just 5 mins walk

  • 5/5

This is what Fife needs more of. lovely carpark with overnight parking in designated spots for campers and motorhomes. please note that the toilet designated for emptying cassette toilets is only open between 10am and 12 noon at this time of year

  • 4/5

In general an excellent facility and great location. Just let down by: (1) No tap for filling motorhome tank. Only a push tap with no connection possibility. (2) CDP is in one of the toilet cubicles, open from 10am to 12 noon. But no rinse hose - just use a jug at the washbasin. Shame it’s all so good but these essentials are overlooked. Full recycling facility at top end of car park.

  • 5/5

fantastic location, very popular 7 spaces, but last night there were 12 here highly recommended Elie is a lovely place plenty of nice walks. 2 days maximum could easily do more has chemical disposal point and freshwater tap. well done Fife council it's a win in my book £10 a night and free all day inspectors do come in a morning to check tickets, keep following the rules to keep this open

  • 5/5

    Peaceful, lovely views, clean facilities.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Fantastic place. Beautiful sea views and walks. Elie is a lovely village. The Ship Inn was wonderful, and their staff were incredibly friendly.

  • 1/5

The road into this car park is like driving on the moon, be quick for a space. Lots of cars come and go during the night…. Would advise to look somewhere else

  • 5/5

Spent a lovely quiet night here, no problem getting a spot on a weeknight. £10 for night, free in the day, toilet disposal only open from 10am-12pm so get in quick or it’ll be locked! Toilets, sink with cold water for dishes, you can also fill bottles with drinking water. Beautiful beach walk, popped over to the cute harbour cafe for some chips which were tasty. Recycling bins in car park too.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot. Arrived 10pm luckily plenty space. Payment machine easy to use. Toilet open. Not the cleanest but still useable. 4 other vans/motor homes but all very quiet. Looking forward to trying out breakfast shack along at harbour in morning and having a walk over to the beach. Over all a good park up.

  • 5/5

7 campervan spaces for overnight elsan empty opens at 10 am for overnighters.

  • 5/5

Fab spot on headland overlooking the beach. We arrived and all the 7 spots were full but just spoke to the people and one was leaving so 20 mins later we were in. Busy but looks like the best time to arrive is between 11 and 1pm. Lovely village great pub and walks. Sandy beach and activities. clean toilets water and chemical disposal. £10

  • 5/5

  • 1/5

Disappointing they have reduced overnight spaces to 7! Here in 2021 and arrived tonight to be met by the inspector who was turning campers away. Went to Leven where he suggested. Also full! So Went a few miles down the road It’s a shame they seem to have so many restrictions now. And we went and spent our money somewhere else tonight!

  • 4/5

Stayed 08/07/24. There are 7 designated overnight parking bays but far more people spent the night. This don’t cause any issues to be fair. Great spot for long walks along the coastal path both ways, however sometimes the path was narrow and close to cliff edges. 1 toilet stays open all night and was a bit grim later on! Plenty of bins available.

  • 4/5

Love it here…a great wee stopover pitch. Would definitely recommend it. Smashing location and plenty to do locally!!

  • 5/5

Stunning location overlooking the beach. 7 overnight spaces £10 for 24 hours ( from 8pm) Other spaces for day use 2 hours free or £2 all day until 8pm. Did the Fife coastal path walk to Crail with bus back. Highly recommended

  • 5/5

Fabulous aire if you are lucky enough to find a space. Bays for 7 vehicles to park overnight. The warden is very good at his job, starts early and ticketed every vehicle with a £60 fine parked overnight that wasn’t parked in one of the 7 bays.

  • 5/5

Fantastic stay toilets absolutely spotless 24 hour toilet would recommend. Beautiful beaches and walks

  • 5/5

great spot. very clean toilets, water tap and toilet disposal. great views over the bay. no emoji.... but thumbs up and scottish flag. : )

  • 5/5

Nice and clean car park. With an excellent view over the bay, and the beach nearby. Price £10 for 24hrs. Easy short walk to the lighthouse, old tower and village.

  • 3/5

  • 5/5

Didn't stay the night stopped for lunch but will be back to stay looks nice views

  • 5/5

Great spot. Dinner in the Ship Inn, breakfast in the Pavillion Cafe. Well worth every penny of the overnight charge.

  • 1/5

The stop over is from 8pm. We parked at 2.30pm on the 16th March to visit friends and all the bays were occupied. We returned the following afternoon and they were still there. Didn't seem monitored for those campers who fancy a cheap weekend by the sea. There is always going to be those ruining what could be a decent Aire for those who need to rest overnight on a longer journey.

  • 4/5

The chances of getting a spot are slim. Mid March, wet Monday all 7 taken. What chance come summer? Shame as it is a great spot to stop , but the council has decided. Would not advise chancing it as there are anecdotal stories of people being fined. Same goes for the 3 spaces at Pittenweem.

  • 5/5

Amazing facility provided by Fife Countryside Trust. Despite the bins, we did need to do a litter pick when we first arrived. Please take care of this area folks as we are very lucky to have it! Peaceful nights sleep and enjoyed getting things for breakfast from the local deli!

  • 5/5

Absolutely stunning views all around. Very quiet at night. Fantastic walks along the Fife coast.

  • 1/5

Have stayed here a few times and a fantastic place to stay however arrived today and the road to the car park is closed due to roadworks, not sure how long it will be closed but probably worth checking if thinking of using the car park!

  • 3/5

  • 5/5

Spent the night here and it’s a fantastic spot and well worth the £10. I’ve no idea why people think the price is too much.

  • 5/5

Top spot to spend a night. A great local pub is within walking distance. Can get very busy so would suggest booking if you want to eat. Can get windy but that’s the only disturbance overnight. Even in October there were 10 vehicles staying overnight on a Friday night. £10 for the overnight stay payable to the machine on site.

  • 3/5

Great spot, beautiful location. Arrived around 1:30 (Monday) and there were 4 of the 7 overnight spaces available, they filled up later as day went by. Toilets super clean, although drinking water was tap was off. Nice wee walk along to Elie. £5 would’ve been more fair I feel.

  • 2/5

Sehr einfach gehalten. WC- Entsorgung vorhanden, aber nur geöffnet von 10-12Uhr. Trinkwasser abgestellt. Öffentliche Toiletten vorhanden, sowie Müllentsorgung. 7Stellplätze ausgeschrieben und nur dort übernachten. 10Pfund( mit Visa nur möglich)bezahlt.Die Nacht war ruhig, aber sehr Stürmisch.

  • 4/5

Also Wochenenden vermeiden.

  • 5/5

Great spot with great views. One toilet is kept open overnight. Cassette emptying times very specific (I think 1000-1200 hrs) so make sure to be around then if need to use this. Spaces fill up very quickly, we got the last spot at 1700 hrs on a Sunday night! 4 spaces in bottom car park quite close together, 3 spaces in upper car park spaced out. £10 for 24 hours. Signs in car park for more info.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Great parking place with dedicated park up place. Beautiful views. Well set up

  • 3/5

  • 5/5

Fantastic location, clean toilets & 24hrs. Full before 1900hrs. But POSTCODE is wrong! 3rd time this has happened to us l

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Amazing if you can get a space. This spot is very popular

  • 5/5

Excellent spot. Great views, quiet, £10 with new, clean 24hour toilets. Only 7 bays, arrive early.

  • 4/5

Didn't stay as I wasn't quite quick enough... turned up at 4pm and there are 3 spaces will spaced out at the top section (near the waste bins), and I didn't realise the other four are right next to each other in a line - very close! Area is lovely, and toilets are immaculate. Free parking for 2 hours so took in the views, and I'm off to Pittenweem to see that car park.

  • 2/5

  • 5/5

Stayed here for one night, new toilet block has been opened.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot. There is a card reader on the machine up the hill, the one lower down lacks a card reader, coins only.

  • 5/5

En janvier, seul ! Vue magnifique !

  • 5/5

Very busy on a Sunday and only limited to 7 camping overnight stops or £100 fine. We had free parking for 2 hours and then couldn’t pay by card as the machine was faulty. There were two other campers with the same problem. We left a note in the van window explaining. The site is excellent. Great views, walks and wildlife. The lighthouse sends a strong beam across the car park all night so you may want to get your blinds out!

  • 3/5

  • 4/5

Great little spot but very busy. I stayed here earlier in the year, maybe around May and there was no £10 charge so this may be a new thing

  • 5/5

Stayed 2 nights in our campervan. 7 bays for motorhomes & campervans. Arrived 10.30pm expecting no space but only 2 others there, so we got a space easily. free toilets open during the day. At night female & male toilets close but the disabled toilet is left open. £10 a night in a beautiful location. (During our 1st night a travelling community arrived, everyone left but we stayed, it was fine)

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

It is a nice park up bit very exposed to the weather. £10 per night or face £100 fine (£60 of paid within 2 weeks) from the local trust.

  • 3/5

Noi ci siamo andati in altro posto

  • 4/5

Super spot !

  • 3/5

Use this place a lot, always loved it. Welcome what they are trying to do with regards to regulating it by providing campervan bays. Trouble is that cars park in them, we went up to the top car park to locate one of the three bays, cars in them. Also caravans with generators and lots of vehicles with them parked, first time I’ve seen this. Looked like travelling folk have decided to pitch there.

  • 4/5

Designated parking bays for campervans / motor homes ...no fees .. great views . Quiet night .. access to the fife coastal path , good walk to pittenweem and back and a nice beach.

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot. Busy with campervans so get there early. Locals dont like us so they purposely come smash their glass bottles in the recycling bins at dawn (we dont care we are up at dawn with the dogs) wonderful beach and nice food at the ship. have stayed in these bays loads of times. toilets clean too but close at night (got our own thankfully) boat rental close by

  • 5/5

stunning beach with nice walks very clean but sadly only 7 motorhome bays

  • 4/5

Beautiful spot. Next to hiking trails. However, it was very windy when we stayed there which caused much noise and the motor home moving.

  • 4/5

Beautiful spot, but get there early to avoid disappointment.....We arrived about 17.00 on a weekday and all the designated bays were taken, so we moved onto Kingsbarns near Crail which runs the same scheme.

  • 5/5

Stayed here for one night in Bay 3 overlooking the sea. Very peaceful, only thing was the wind during the night.Lovely walks along Fife coast, a short walk to Lady’s Tower and the light house. There is also a converted horse box that sells tea/coffee and food, think it closes around 15:00-16:00. I will definitely be returning and thanks to Fife Council for making these designated Motor Home spaces

  • 5/5

Top spot and grateful to have allocated motorhome parking. Sunny day, so just beautiful. Stayed 1 night.

  • 5/5

Great spot. Beautiful views too wake up to. Had a lovely walk to Pitenweem sea pool for a dip!

  • 5/5

We would like to say thank you to the Fife council for making our stay in your beautiful surroundings possible. The allocated bays were very spacious and it was well kept and tidy with amazing views and walks. Follow the road signs to Ruby Bay.

  • 5/5

Brilliant stop. Well done Fife council on their great stop. One note them driving here don’t go through the wee village use the top road!!

  • 5/5

Great place to stay bit windy but it was February very close to pub / restaurant

  • 4/5

The winter weather wasn’t the best and the toilets were locked but the views were amazing and a quiet night, should imagine it’s popular in the summer

  • 5/5

Fantastic. Great walks. Views. Places of interest. Most of all peace and quiet. Just the sound of the sea. Stopped 2 nights. Bins. Bottle Bank. Toilets. Huge parking bay's for campers.

  • 4/5

Very good spot with good views and lovely walks nearby. toilets were clean. very exposed on a windy night and caused another campers alarm to go off at 9pm tho that didn't cause us much disruption

  • 5/5

Lovely overnight stop in a designated parking bay, we stayed for the maximum of two nights. Please look after this location or we will loose it as the height barrier could get closed if people don't behave.

  • 4/5

Great that the local community has allocated parking bays specifically for motorhomes overnight. Allocated bay use is between 8pm & 7am. It's a shame that so many people disregard the rules put in place by the local community & park wherever they like and too close to others overnight. These places will be taken away if people continually stick their fingers up to the local community rules.

  • 5/5

Amazing parking space with short distance walk to a pub which serves the most delicious Cullen skink I ever had.

We found a motor home bay and parked up with amazing views over the bay. Clean toilets and village not far away. Why wouldn’t we give it five stars?

Excellent spot , stayed 2 nights must of been what 22 campers on site which caused havoc on the Saturday afternoon resulting in 2 guys having to exchange insurance details !! Speaking to the folk who work the car park area looks like they are going to start charging to stay which I wouldn’t mind paying at all One negative was closure of toilets just before it got really busy Highly recommend tho

Be aware, there are only 7 official Motorhome spaces, that are not visible when vans are parked up, we had a council warning ticket stuck on our windscreen. Lovely spot, nice village. Need more spaces allocated, very busy.

We parked here for a day and would have been a perfect overnight spot. Plenty of places to eat nearby in Ellie toilets in car park are locked overnight. Plenty of spaces available in a quiet bay.

  • 5/5

Tolle Aussicht, keine Probleme bei der Übernachtung

  • 5/5

Great overnight spot on way down East coast during our Scotland tour. Signs saying no overnight for camping and caravans no mention of motorhome . 4 motorhome parked when we arrived toilets free and 5 large rubbish bins in corner of area

  • 5/5

Same signs as last year but no problem last night. We were one of two vans that stayed overnight. Great dog walks along the coast and a nice local pub.

  • 1/5

Motorhomes are now banned and fines being issued for overnight stays. Once again selfish campers have spoiled a nice spot. To be avoided.

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Please note, campervans/motorhomes are only allowed to use the lower parking area now. Was becoming very overcrowded due to its popularity..

  • 4/5

Very nice place, and beautiful spot. We were 2 campers and no problem at all with the "no overnight " signpost. On a beaucoup aimé

Signs now up stating no overnight parking. Six vans here tonight with no enforcement. Nice spot.
