Great free stopover at the Metrodome . we used the pool . nice staff . toilets cafe and bar are open daily . plenty of bins . busy sports complex but quiet at night not many spaces at peak times .15 mins walk to town
Parking devant une base de loisirs avec piscine et boulodrome. Occupé pendant la journée mais calme le soir. Super endroit pour prendre le train de Barnley à Sheffield ou Leeds. Gare SNCF à 10 minutes à pied. J'y ai passé 2 nuits et j'ai passé un sommeil super paisible. Rarement bon endroit selon les normes anglaises.
Parking in front of a leisure center with swimming pool and bowling alley. Busy during the day but quiet in the evening. Great spot for taking the train from Barnley to Sheffield or Leeds. Train station 10 minutes walk away. Stayed there for 2 nights and had a super peaceful sleep. Rarely good place by English standards.
Parken vor einem Freizeitzentrum mit Schwimmbad und Kegelbahn. Tagsüber beschäftigt, aber abends ruhig. Toller Ort, um den Zug von Barnley nach Sheffield oder Leeds zu nehmen. Bahnhof 10 Gehminuten entfernt. Waren für 2 Nächte dort und hatten einen super ruhigen Schlaf. Selten guter Ort für englische Verhältnisse.

JulieBedford13/07/2025Very quiet night (until a cockeral started at 4am). Huge flat car park, loos, showers (pay a small fee), café when the sports centre is open. I was the only van there last night but will use again when visiting family in the area
fairytales29/05/2025schöner ruhiger Platz zum Übernachten... wollten morgens schwimmen im Bad gehen, da sollten sie aber die schwimmzeiten am Vortag erfragen... da die für normale Schwimmer eingeschränkt sind...

Very quiet night after all the leisure centre users left at 8pm. Unfortunately, they all arrived back again at 5.45am, so an early start. Other problem is that it is very well lit with security lights, so you will need to 'black out' your windows. Also, very messy with litter. Watched several visitors (not campervaners or motor homers) simply open their car doors and chuck out so much crap.

Good place to stay overnight. Had a very calm and quiet night. But only suitable for Campervan because the acces road is very narriw and has very high bumps on the road
