Great stopover available if eating. Very warm welcome, with a great menu of tasty food (including excellent gluten free choices - much appreciated!) at sensible prices. Hookup available although we didn't need it. Highly recommended.
We stayed overnight in February at the Olde Jack at Calverhall - new owners, great food, super friendly and pro motorhome - free stay and £ coins (3) for 3 pin hook up. Highly recommended.
Under new ownership, however, the new owners are great. Still allow stopovers and also have metered electric hook up available. Well worth a visit.

Friendly staff and nice food. Messaged ahead on Facebook for confirmation we were ok to stay and received a reply quickly. We left early in the morming but carpark very quiet overnight with no passing traffic.
Great spot! You park in the top car park & if you need EHU you’ll spot a white box on your right hand side. Ask at the bar for the key which gives access to a metre that takes £1 coins - we used a couple for 1 night with heating, so good value. Pub is great with super friendly team - food is excellent.. A few people had dogs & it was fine. They do have a large dog, but it was kept out back .
Great pub with great food for an overnight on route. Quite little village with the Queen Elizabeth path across the fields to walk the dog.
Nice meal and pint and quiet stay overnight in car park.
Lovely owners and fantastic food with huge portions. Toilets inside the pub were spotless. Didn't use the electric hook up but parking spaces at the back only needed a little levelling. There was some noise from farm vehicles but nothing crazy. Would definitely come here again
We are so glad we choose to stop here on our way home from Wales. The owners are super friendly and welcoming and were very happy for us to stop over night. The food was first class, can not recommend the ‘steak ale pie’ enough, melts in the mouth. Dog friendly, super hospitality, level parking spot, free Wi-Fi and good nights sleep, we will be back and added to our favourites.
Excellent home cooked food, sizeable portions and reasonable price. Electricity now available metered at £0.50p kWh. Direct access vis Prees Rd from A41 is a narrow winding country road with limited passing places. Best access is from A525 Whitchurch bypass via Ash Road through Ash Magna and Ightfield
Arrived quite late, bar staff were welcoming, stay was free and we had some pints in the charming pub. have stayed before and had food which was excellent! car park quite flat and good for parking up campervan
We stayed the night and had food and drink. Very welcoming, food was fantastic. Quiet location. The village itself is very pretty. Will definitely go back. Highly recommended!
We spent a few nights here and it is honestly a hidden little gem! In the middle of nowhere is located this amazing pub. Amazing hosts!! Wi-Fi, electricity and safety - what more do you need. 5/5.
Just spent a night here. the carpark is on a bit of a slope but not too bad, levelling ramps would help but l didn't find it too bad so didn't use them. The pub was lovely, very friendly and the food was good quality and reasonably priced. Roads are a bit narrow for larger vans.
