(850 02) Eristos

La grande baie d'Eristos est le seul endroit sur Tilos où le camping est officiellement autorisé. Comme la signalisation sur place l'indique clairement, cela n'est autorisé que dans la partie est de la baie, c'est-à-dire au bout de la rue à gauche. Les sanitaires sont très délabrés et ne sont pas nettoyés régulièrement, mais vous êtes compensé par l'ambiance de rêve : des tamaris fournissent de l'ombre sur une vaste plage de sable. Il y a une taverne (avec une petite boutique) et un hôtel-restaurant à distance de marche. Il existe de meilleures options pour manger et faire l'épicerie dans le pittoresque Megalo Chorio, ainsi que dans la petite ville portuaire Ag. Antonios, tous deux à seulement quelques kilomètres. Un "incontournable" est le monastère Ag. Panteleimonas, à 9 kilomètres. La route escarpée y étant désormais goudronnée, vous pouvez vous y rendre avec un (pas trop grand) mobil home.

The large Eristos Bay is the only place on Tilos where camping is officially allowed. As the signs on site clearly state, this is only permitted in the eastern part of the bay, i.e. at the end of the street to the left. The sanitary facilities are very shabby and are not cleaned regularly, but you are compensated by the dreamy ambience: Tamarisk trees provide shade on an extensive sandy beach. There is a tavern (with a small shop) and a hotel restaurant within walking distance. There are better options for eating and shopping for groceries in the picturesque Megalo Chorio, as well as in the small port town of Ag. Antonios, both of which are only a few kilometers away. A “must-see” is the monastery of Ag. Panteleimonas, 9 kilometers away. The steep road there is now paved, you can get there with a (not too big) mobile home.

Die große Eristos-Bucht ist der einzige Platz auf Tilos, wo Campen offiziell erlaubt ist. Wie die Schilder vor Ort unmissverständlich zum Ausdruck bringen, ist dies aber nur im östlichen Teil der Bucht gestattet, also am Ende der Straße nach links.
Die sanitären Anlagen sind sehr heruntergekommen und werden nicht regelmäßig gereinigt, dafür wird man durch das traumhafte Ambiente entschädigt: Schattenspendende Tamarisken auf einem weitläufigen Sandstrand.
In Gehweite gibt es eine Taverne (mit einem kleinen Geschäft) und ein Hotel-Restaurant. Bessere Möglichkeiten zum Essen und zum Lebensmitteleinkauf gibt es im malerischen Megalo Chorio, sowie im kleinen Hafenort Ag. Antonios, die beide nur wenige Kilometer entfernt sind.
Ein „Must-See“ ist das 9 Kilometer entfernte Kloster Ag. Panteleimonas. Da die steile Straße dorthin jetzt asphaltiert ist, kommt man auch mit einem (nicht allzu großen) Wohnmobile hin.
