Betsyvan2518/06/2025Quiet lay-by separated from and slightly beneath the main road so feels quite secluded. Lovely views across the fields. Dips down and back up again but there are flat areas to park on. There was a HGV parked when we arrived which stayed all night, and another one arrived around 7am the following morning which woke us up. Other local lay-bys seemed to have them too. But otherwise a nice spot.

Jillscaife18/08/2024I stayed here for one night, very private. The main road gets quiet later on, but even when busy, it didn't bother me. Once parked, you are off the main road and can't really be seen. I stayed Saturday evening, and there was nobody else there all night. It's the perfect place to stay for visiting Stainbeck and Catrigg Force waterfall. It's only a minute up the road where you can wild swim.
