(BA12 6RP) - White Sheet Lane

L’endroit est effectivement magnifique, nous y avons passé une nuit très calme et le réveil avec le soleil sur les collines était parfait ! 2 autres vans y ont passé la nuit également.Nous avons pu faire demi-tour sans problème avec notre fourgon de 6m40 . De belles balades aux alentours. Je recommande !!

Amazing park up. Only our van all night so we had the place to ourselves. Couple of people walking dogs. So peaceful.

wonderful views ,very quiet spot , came in July, beware the fly bite!!!

Excellent place to stop for the night. Loads of ‘bitey flies’ from the cattle in adjacent fields but we had an insect zapper. Bit steep to get there and gravel over the speed humps dont help but worth the effort once there. Please take everything out with you dont leave your litter behind, it’d be a real shame having this taken away. Thank you

place for the few local unhoused to live in peace please do not treat as a campsite. true nomads are losing longstanding park ups due to weekend campers

Brilliant spot, arrived late to find the place empty and with lovely views even in the moonlight. Definitely worth driving up to the top along the gravel track!

Loverly spot dark and quiet, great views in the morning. Worth going right to top we turned around with a 7 meter van no trouble.

Very quiet little windy but a beautiful sunrise to wake up to. Road a little bumpy

What a beautiful spot!! Definitely worth the bumpy drive up there!! Take care on the last right hand bend with some real deep ruts but doable even in our LWB Crafter! But 100% come from the B3092 entrance! You’ll see why when you get up there! Is a tight squeeze to turn a LWB around but once again, manageable! Good signal on 3 and O2! And great bit of history surrounding you! Go read the signs!

As already mentioned the road up is very bumpy with ruts but we managed in our 7.4m motorhome. Don’t come up the wrong way though, drive past the car park. The road is not signposted.

nice view in a very quiet spot. had a great night of sleep. we saw a couple of people walking their dogs or riding but all very friendly. two ways to get there, one is an extremely bumpy and potholey road, which is the old route to London. come from the other side instead where there's a small car park on the way up. no facilities whatsoever so need to be self sufficient and leave no trace.

If you are a low-rider, reconsider as the road up to this spot is very rutted, potholed, and water gulleyed. Once you're up, though; wow! A peaceful night. We managed in a 7m Merc Sprinter, so it's definitely doable, but a bit sketchy on the way up.

such an amazing place. great night sleep. bearly anyone else around all day. - it's is very open and you can see for miles. - EE 4&5g really good. I was getting 100mbps download and similar upload. ID mobile was ok for 4g. - level ground. Well worth the sketchy road to get up here

the lane up to the track has been sorted out some what and is amazing views and a incredible place to stay with stourhead and King Alfred's tower very close

Omg… this spot is so nice… road is a bad one to it..but we made it in the siesta!!!! You need to do this one ???

We got up here with a 7.4m van, but we’re probably a lot more adventurous/reckless than most, so I don’t know that it’s ideal. Very rough track on the way up, 1st gear and wheels spinning, but doable. Parking area only JUST wide enough to turn the van around. Worth it for the peaceful rest at the top!

Hi, we originally put this spot up on P4N. Just wanted to thank you for all the good reviews, but please note the lower car park now has a sign prohibiting overnight stays. It’s not clear if that also applies to the top track, so for now please be respectful when staying and hopefully it’ll last for campers to continue enjoying. If not it’s still a great place for the daytime!

Great sun set spot. Access ok with a 2WD when dry. Bit of litter about, duly picked up

Beautiful spot, car park is an easy option but we went up the lane ontop of the hill where it is plenty wide enough to park up and nice and level. Decent 4g signal up top of hill. wouldnt recommend going up the steep byway section if you dont have good ground clearance.

stayed here a couple of times now 30 mins from home lovely quiet place worth the drive to the top of the lane would recommend.

What a spot, drove to the top up the gravel track, lots of dog walkers evening and morning but still very quiet and some lovely walks around the bronze age fort,

Arrived here late in the evening and decided to go to the top of the hill which is a very rough gravel road. We were followed up the lane by a car which had been waiting in the bottom car park. They then pulled in directly behind where we chose to stop. We sat there for 15 minutes and then decided to leave.

Cool place to visit, the lane is very narrow though, we brushed our wing mirrors all the way up the lane. Wouldn’t want to meet another vehicle coming the other way…but great overall.

Definitely worth going up the lane for this spot. The views are stunning and the sunset was beautiful. Spent a peaceful night here with no disturbance. Also the stars are amazing when they are out here.

Beautiful sunset, bronze age burial ground, good handstanding. Few passing places on the approach. Last 300m (up a steep slope) has enormous potholes. We made it in our 7m motorhomes... but it was a bit nerve-wracking

stayed for 2 nights lovely views around the old fort road up with rough but ok we were on our own both nights.

we stayed for 1 night was very quite with great views we drove to the top and was only joined by a couple of dog walkers and another van

arrived very late so didn't chance going all the way to the top but found a nice flat spot in the carpark. excellent spot. was a clear night and there was zero light pollution so ideal for a spot of stargazing

Lovely spot with great views. I came up from the Red Lion end - nice little car park half way up the hill. Road was good up to the car park though narrow! After that there are potholes ok. At the top of the hill there is space to park/turn but I couldn't get further due to 2 massive puddles. I did see landrovers go through them no problem though! Didnt need to go further as it was lush up there.

This place is great! Nice and quiet with a great view and a nice walk.

Well worth continuing up the track to the top, although potholey so wouldn’t want to in the dark. Great views, popular with dog walkers but all friendly.
