Just trying to put people off parking near by so they can make money not a good advert for there camp site

Notre camping familial, situé près de Thornhill dans le Dumfries & Galloway, accueille les chiens et dispose d'environ 14 à 20 emplacements (dont 8 stabilisés). Tentes, caravanes et camping-cars sont les bienvenus.
Le camping Oakbank Farm bénéficie d'un emplacement privilégié au cœur des douces collines du sud-ouest de l'Écosse, à proximité de nombreuses attractions touristiques : la maison de Robert Burns, le musée de Dumfries et la Camera Obscura, le château de Caerlaverock, le château de Drumlanrig, le golf de Thornhill et la rivière Nith (pêche à quelques minutes seulement), pour n'en citer que quelques-unes.
Tout le monde est le bienvenu, des familles avec leurs animaux de compagnie aux motards et randonneurs. Notre emplacement est idéal pour les vététistes qui souhaitent explorer les célèbres sentiers VTT des 7 Stanes, ainsi que les superbes sentiers du château de Drumlanrig.
Nous sommes notamment un lieu d'hébergement de plus en plus prisé par les personnes participant aux événements organisés au domaine de Drumlanrig, situé à proximité. L'arrivée se fait entre 14h et 20h.

We’re a family-run, dog-friendly campsite near Thornhill in Dumfries & Galloway with space for around 14-20 pitches (8 hard standing) – tents, caravans and camper vans are all very welcome.
Oakbank Farm Campsite sits pretty amid the gentle rolling hills of South-West Scotland, conveniently situated for nearby local attractions – Robert Burns House, Dumfries Museum and Camera Obscura, Caerlaverock Castle, Drumlanrig Castle, Thornhill Golf Course, and fishing on the River Nith just minutes away, to name but a few.
Everyone is welcome, from families and pets to motorcyclists and hillwalkers, and we’re perfectly situated for mountain bikers planning a trip to one or more of the world-famous 7 Stanes mountain bike trail centres, along with the superb trails at Drumlanrig Castle.
Among others, we’re a growingly popular overnight spot for those attending events held at nearby Drumlanrig Estate. Check in is from 2pm to 8pm

Wir sind ein familiengeführter, hundefreundlicher Campingplatz in der Nähe von Thornhill in Dumfries & Galloway mit ca. 14–20 Stellplätzen (8 befestigte Stellplätze). Zelte, Wohnwagen und Wohnmobile sind herzlich willkommen.
Der Campingplatz Oakbank Farm liegt idyllisch inmitten der sanften Hügel Südwestschottlands und ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge zu nahegelegenen Sehenswürdigkeiten wie dem Robert Burns House, dem Dumfries Museum und der Camera Obscura, Caerlaverock Castle, Drumlanrig Castle, dem Thornhill Golf Course und dem Fluss Nith, wo man in wenigen Minuten angeln kann – um nur einige zu nennen.
Bei uns sind alle herzlich willkommen, ob Familien mit Haustieren, Motorradfahrer oder Wanderer. Mountainbiker, die einen Ausflug zu einem oder mehreren der weltberühmten 7 Stanes Mountainbike-Trailcenter oder den fantastischen Trails von Drumlanrig Castle planen, profitieren von unserer idealen Lage.
Wir sind unter anderem ein immer beliebterer Übernachtungsort für Besucher von Veranstaltungen auf dem nahegelegenen Drumlanrig Estate. Check-in ist von 14:00 bis 20:00 Uhr.

Julie16801/10/2025Kleinerer familiengeführter Campingplatz mit geschotterten ebenen Stellplätzen. Wir wurden sehr herzlich vom Besitzer empfangen, waren tatsächlich bis auf ein Zelt alleine. Sanitäre Anlagen eher rustikal, aber sauber und warme Duschen sowie Platz zum Abwaschen. Gegen Aufpreis auch Waschmaschine, E-Bike Charging und Fahrradreparatur vor Ort. Straße nebenan befahren, aber nachts kein Problem.

Camping adorable! Le propriétaire est extrêmement gentil, il donne pleins de bon conseils et s’assure que tous le monde va bien. Les sanitaires sont rustique mais extrêmement propre. Nous avons passé une nuit idéale.

Les propriétaires sont adorables, le lieu est très soignée et la vue sur les collines magnifiques. Tout est prévu pour le confort : sanitaires propres, douches chaudes, évier extérieur avec eau chaude pour la vaisselle... tout cela pour 20£ la nuit (26£ avec branchement électrique). A moins de 5min en voiture, la ville de Thornhill: délicieux Fish & chips, pub et un Spar pour se ravitailler.
Tala2326/06/2025We stayed here for two nights lovely campsite the owner was very friendly and helpful. Had a lovely dog walking park which both our dogs loved . Very clean toilets and showers and facilities to wash the dishes . Will be back

Really clean and tidy site with everything you need it’s a short drive to Dumfries, castles and mountain biking at ae forest, the owners were great would recommend to anyone wanting a simple cheap stop over! They even have e-bike charging stations and tools for fixing your bikes.

Great place to stay! The lady I spoke to was really lovely and friendly and gave me lots of helpful info on arrival including a leaflet with all the details I could need. The site was easy to find and a beautiful spot. The best bit everywhere was meticulously clean! The toilets were the cleanest I’ve ever seen at a camp site! The showers are spotless and the sink to wash up too. I will be back!

Wat een fantastische plek! We verbleven hier 3 nachten (helaas met echt Schots weer). Super vriendelijke eigenaars en goede faciliteiten. Er zijn twee heerlijk warme douches en twee toiletten. Er is een wasmachine en droger die je kunt gebruiken voor £5 (samen), prima prijs. Een klein nadeel is het geluid van de weg en het spoor die vlakbij liggen, maar 's nachts hadden we er weinig last van.

Een buitengewoon uitzicht in een zeer rustige omgeving (op de naastgelegen weg na, maar deze is niet storend). Schone sanitaire voorzieningen, gratis wifi en een zeer vriendelijk en hartelijk ontvangst.

Sehr schöner und liebevoll angelegter Campingplatz mit allem, was man braucht: Strom, Trinkwasser, Entsorgung für Chemietoilette. Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites und unkompliziertes Betreiberpaar. Lediglich die Geräuschkulisse der vielbefahrenen Hauptstraße stört die Idylle. Nachts ist es aber recht ruhig.

Lovely little campsite: Good size pitches, lovely hot showers, large dog exercise field, friendly owner, very reasonably priced: £15 for me and dog in carcamper. It is close to a main road, so there is some traffic noise, but it was quiet through the night. I would stay again, if in the area

Motorhome with Electric £26. Friendly owner, clean facilities. Yes, it is beside a main road and train line, but to be honest we heard nothing after going to sleep. Our son is disabled / wheelchair user, the shower isn’t wheelchair accessible, we were able to shower him by doing a standing transfer from wheelchair to the chair. The toilet isn’t accessible, but we use the toilet in the Motorhome.
biffiluca24/08/2022Il luogo è molto piacevole, tranquillo e silenzioso (vicino c’è una strada in cui passano le auto, ma dalle 21 in poi è deserta). Piccolo e curato, bagni e docce puliti, con auto in due (senza elettricità) 19£. Consigliato se passate in questa zona.

Absolutely great place to stay. Clean toilet and showers. Not to many people, place to walk with dog, and not to far form Dumfries. Owner is very friendly and for 5 people tent and electricity £26

Très bien. 22£ pour 1 camping car électricité. Les douches sont top. Très jolie. Proximité de la route mais compensé par les prestations très biens. Propriétaire très agréable.

Petit camping à la ferme mais super bien, les sanitaires sont très propres et les propriétaires très sympa! Nous avons payé 19£ pour un van, 2 personnes sans électricité. Je ne met pas 5 étoiles parce que c’est en bord de route et il y a un peu de traffic, même si la nuit est très calme.

We phoned ahead to make sure there was a space available. We were greeted with a lovely warm welcome. All the facilities we needed, and lovely hot showers. Road is close, BUT was quite in the evening & night. And didn’t even realise there was a train track. Beautiful little spot.

The A76 is nearby, as is a railway line, but neither was intrusive or a problem. Lovely people and clean facilities.
