Stayed one night with no issues. Yes the trains did run through the night and the odd car passed at speed causing a wobble but all acceptable for a free park ups beside the road. We are 7.3m a fitted no problem and yes we used chalks as there is a bit of a slope. 4 vans over night but 2 would appear to be long term, not judging just an observation. Directly at the lock with walks.
Nice enough spot for 1 night . used by fisherman but they were friendly. A few vans there o/n but quiet . Trains and cars start early in the morning . Right beside canal so nice lookout and can get a walk.

I stayed here on 04/08/2025, I had a great sleep and good walking for my dog. Friendly local narrow boaters.
Been coming here on and off for 4 years getting ruined by vans parked sideways and vans who think they own the parking and staying for weeks at a time. Some people will always take the mickey and ruin it
Good place to stay!
It's a nice enough location for a walk, but you have to be a very deep sleeper to get any sleep here on a Friday or Saturday night. Cars racing past throughout the night making our motorhome rock, & fisherman coming & going all night, often having loud conversations as they loaded/unloaded their kit. About a mile walk to the Pelican pub which is great for dogs & does decent food, but expensive.

really nice place to park up , very quiet and everyone is so friendly, right by the canal edge , lovely walks for dogs , very quiet and a great nights sleep , we arrived midday and by 6pm there were 4 motorhomes , 3 campers and 4 cars so no more room, phone signal not to bad 3 bars all day.
Perfect spot for a larger van I have LDV Maxus 3.5 ton Luton van and it fit perfectly. The road is quiet and the canal has boats passing through the day everyone really friendly. I took a walk along the canal to the nearest pub The Three Tuns really nice food and friendly staff
Lovely little spot next to the canal. No bother at all. Nice to sit on the grass by the water. Train goes past regularly but it wouldn’t put us off coming back.
Brilliant spot, had a great night sleep no bother at all! The locals were all welcoming would defiantly go back again.

lovely quiet spot. a few other vans joined. Great walks along the canal. pelican pub 15 minutes walk. right by train line but queit at night. elsan points in both directions of the canal about 5 minutes drive.
Great spot very quiet overnight, joined by 2 other campers 1 looks pretty permanent. Patchy signal, only one bar of phone and intermittent internet, meant I had to move along to be able to work reliably. I’m in an XLB Sprinter and fit fine, just need to reverse in and let the back overhang on the grass.

Lovely peaceful spot. Several vehicles parked, near some barges. Regular trains but not too loud. Fairly level. Dog walkers in the morning. Felt safe, but very dark at night, which meant the stars were stunning.

Great park up ,nice quiet night's sleep. Couple of cars parked overnight but think they belong to the canal boat owners. Lovely view of canal, train passing every now and again but no bother.
Gorgeous spot. Not a lot of spaces as the canal boaters park there, but if you get a space it's beautiful. Stayed 2 nights with no bother. Kids club set up on the first day and it was busy but quiet by the evening. The stars are incredible!
Froxfield Top Lock car park. Gravel parking pretty level. O2 & 3 mobile signal poor to non existent. Quiet Saturday night. Great park up.
Nice place! Very quiet, with some train noise through the night, but not an issue if you’re used to that. Mobile signal is very poor and so is 4G. Usually full of other van-lifers and swimmers/boaters/paddle-boarders. There is a lovely walk alongside the canal and a pub close by.
Lovely quite peaceful stay. Very beautiful surroundings. Felt very safe and quite. 2 other campers already then when we arrived. The odd car passing by in the night but other than that lovely night stay. Would definitely stay here again.
Stayed overnight, between the canal and the road, very quiet even with the odd car going by at night very quiet, can here the train in the distance. Not busy (stayed a Wednesday night) would stay here again

Stopped here for lunch. Nice spot. A few others parked with us. Our vans a bit long to stay overnight parked in a “bay” would be worried About someone hitting it during the night. But fine otherwise
Gorgeous spot, nice and peaceful but I had zero phone signal which I use for streaming so I personally couldn’t stay the night which is a shame.
Lovely quiet level parking but narrow access roads. Nice to talk to the bargees as they work the locks.
What a lovely spot x not quite as flat as I’d like but the views are fab and a lovely walk, and get to watch the boats!
Wunderschöner Platz direkt am Kanal an der Schleuse. Man stört keinen und kann gut am Kanal wandern oder radeln. Eine Bank gibt es auch.
Great park up for the night, right next to a lock on a canal. Very quiet at night and felt very safe. There’s a nice looking pub a short walk away although we didn’t visit! There was one other camper there when we stayed.

Good level parking spot, nice views of the canal. Good walks in both directions alongside the canal. Pelican pub about a mile away. You can hear trains go past in the day. Worth the stop.
Lovely space to stop overnight. trains do run until 11sh, but quiet night sleep. lovely walk along the canal and plenty of wildlife around (kingfisher). perfect for an early breakfast near the water.
Does the job. There's a canal with a nice walk and friendly people. That's about it. Cars and trains whizz past every five minutes (although perhaps not at night, I was never planning to stay). Ground is flat, a 7m van could fit, just. My xlwb (6.4m) Boxer was comfortable. Your van will sway as cars drive past though.
Perfect stop by the river watching the boats go through the lock. Train track otherside of trees but all quiet overnight will defo be back
Great spot - plenty of spaces. There were 2 cars and my campervan when I arrived. The cars must belong to people with boats moored nearby as were still there next day. Another mid-size motorhome arrived while I was there and parked OK but big ones would struggle. Constant noise from water rushing down the overflow which didnt bother me but some might struggle to sleep. Very picturesque!

Great lunch stop... lovely walk along the canal towards great Bedwyn. not too many spaces...two other campers when I arrived.
Lovely park up right next to the canal. straight off the main road and train track on other side of canal behind trees. Slight traffic noise from cars and trains but quiet from 23:00 till 07:00 . No facilities or bins so please leave it as you find it and take your rubbish with you. Lovely walks along the canal
Stopped here after having a meal in Newbury. It’s a great spot, over looking the canal lock. Very quiet only heard a couple of trains and cars.

One of the best places I’ve ever stayed, so peaceful to hear the water in the canal and the rain on the roof as I went to sleep... will definitely go back! The occasional car at night but didn’t bother me. Lovely walk in the morning looking at all the canal boats 11/12/2020
Not a bad little park up,I’m 6.5 m long only just fit any longer I would be sticking out on road which is very narrow had to keep stoping to let cars coming other way on way here.
Great little spot. Lovely and quiet. The odd train or car may pass, but I had my best nights sleep so far in the van

Schöne Lage am Wehr eines Kanals. Es ist viel Platz auch längere Camper passen. Die Straße ist sehr gering befahren.
