Visited today, no signage to say no overnights allowed like someone else stated... When we turned up, we chose not to stay a tent was pitched and four males possibly European or fresh off the boat didn't feel safe so we left. That said we saw 4 other vans camping over the weekend, alternatively Lower Lode Inn with camping facilities the other side of the river was our choice.

  • 1/5

As of the 9/04/24 a sign has been put up no overnight sleeping. With a warning of a £70.00 fine

  • 2/5

Currently flooded…space for two if willing to risk the proximity of the water

  • 5/5

This would be lovely if the Severn isn’t in spate. Note: if the access road is flooded about 200 yards in, don’t struggle on, the car park will also be flooded and there’s not many places to turn. The sewage works entrance is probably the easiest. Unrestricted parking at the top of the lane if in extremis.

  • 1/5

planned to stay here but totally underwater 21.10 so stayed at the top of the lane in the car park. Will come back and try it out when the river isn't flooded.

  • 5/5

great park up with no problems :). Parked here overnight in van with our 3 month old daughter and had a lovely view of the river. would reccomend as conveniently located near the M5. Tewkesbury also lovely to walk or drive through.

  • 5/5

Stayed there2/9. We were there early and by dark there were 10 vans. Lovely setting. No facilities but we weren’t looking for any. Picnic area beside it

  • 4/5

    quiet, out the way.

  • 4/5

Great place to stop right on the river. Benches and bins but nothing else. A 15/20 minute walk to town and the beautiful Abbey. Felt safe. Definitely go there again if in the area

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

stayed here 1 night last week. Lovely spot right next to the river. 2 minute walk to the Abbey and town centre. It did get noisy around 7am as people were going canoeing, cars arriving and doors opening and closing. There's a few lay by's on the lane ,so if you're a light sleeper like me,I suggest parking on the lane

  • 5/5

My first ever time car camping wild. This spot was stunning. My view from my boot bed was the sun setting over the river. Three campers there so felt safe. Thank you guys for sharing this spot. I stayed 15 hours (overnight) and loved every second

  • 5/5

Great stop over night, decent signal. Litter bin and lovely walk into Tewkesbury, Abbey is a must see.

  • 5/5

Great park up at the junction between the rivers Avon and Severn. Room for several vans. Lots of dog walkers and people using the river. People coming and going all day. Friendly locals. 15 minutes walk into Tewkesbury with public toilets along the way.

  • 5/5

Don't arrive too early as it's busy with picnicers and swimmers. Other than that, very peaceful and you can have a swim in the morning (no, I didn't )

  • 5/5

    War sehr schön dort.

  • 5/5

I stayed here for one night 3 August. Great spot for an overnight. Several other vans and medium sized motorhomes but all very friendly. I had a quiet night, no problems. There are waste bins and picnic tables. The town of Tewksbury (about one mile away) is well worth a visit with its Abby and quaint little back streets. Plenty of eating places offering a wide variety menus. Will definitely use this place again.

  • 5/5

Brilliant little spot for a good nights sleep. Peaceful and relatively flat, great views.

  • 5/5

yes this is a great spot but please don't abuse it during the second full weekend in July each year. The medieval festival close the road so it's not accessible. this year 2 campers had to be moved by police and quoted this site . during festival its not available but they do offer campsite at gupshill pub just up the road.

  • 5/5

Great little spot down the end of a dead end road there were six vans there for the night and there is still space for dog walkers to park

  • 5/5

Stayed en route to Scotland. Less than 5 mins from M5. Postcode takes you to a car park with a Marquis Moho Depot, but literally just past it on your right is Lower Lode. Drive down to the river, and you're rewarded with a wonderful peaceful picturesque place.

  • 5/5

Brilliant little car park, lots of other friendly campers. Mostly quiet and peaceful. Right by the water. Benches, bins (emptied by council every morning). Dog walkers in daytime. Can probably fit 6-8 vans depending on size and how well parked they are. Close enough to walk into Tewkesbury

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot, next to the river. The car park itself is pretty small and seems to get quite busy with vans/moho’s - the first time we came there were already quite a few vans so we left and came back the following night. Not very level. 4G ok on EE. Bins around.

  • 5/5

Would definitely recommend this place. Very peaceful right by the river. 4 campers in total. Right out of the way. Even benches outside to sit down on the grass verge.

  • 5/5

Peaceful stopover near the river with a circular dog walk and picnic benches nearby.

  • 4/5

Great little stop, the postcode on the main post takes you to a different park. head for Cheltenham college boat House gl20 7dp the parking entrance is opposite their main entrance.

  • 5/5

Postcode took us to car park 4 gym, turn into Lower Road is just before and all the way 2 end of road. Quite little car park, only 1 other van parked with us. Pub across river, seemed busy with campers so glad we didn’t stop there. Great night sleep lots of place for doggies to stretch their legs. Friendly little ducky visitors

  • 4/5

Very quiet. Close to the river and only short walk into Tewkesbury or the battlefield trail. Just be mindful it’s on a flood plain and floods regularly so walks along the river bank can be muddy and car park can be inaccessible after heavy rain. (Check environment agency website).

  • 3/5

Ok spot. Somewhat sketchy feeling from a few cars coming and just parking there for some time, but otherwise no issues.

  • 3/5

This is a beautiful spot but unfortunately when we tried to park here today we were met by a very grumpy couple in a small car who blocked us out of the car park. As we do not like confrontation we moved on.

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot by the river severn, just beside a boat house. A few comings and goings but quietened down around 10, peaceful underdisturbed night shared with 3 others campers. 5 minute walk from Tewksbury

  • 5/5

Stunning views with fantastic dog walks. 6 vans there ansnstill plenty of space between us. Many friendly ducks!

  • 1/5

Arrived here on a Friday evening but full of youngsters drinking in cars & motorhomes. Didn’t feel happy here at all so drove back out. Shame cos it’s a nice spot by the river.

  • 4/5

Picturesque parking in front of the river, with walks in both directions. Some noise till 9 then peaceful, has a bin and good signal on EE

  • 5/5

hi great place but note the road to it is closed Second weekend in July every year due to Tewkesbury Medieval Festival they have permission for road closure no entry. parking near by towards Gloucester near Coombe Hill large lay-by.

  • 5/5

great view nice quiet spot by the river stopped on a thursday night and there was 4 campervans parked up so quite busy other campers had stayed before so it is a popular place not sure you would get a spot in the summer but well worth a try

  • 5/5

Arrived at 21:30. One other van already there. Very quiet night. Council van arrived at 06:45 to empty bins. Couple of walkers after that. Nice riverside walks and heard and saw a woodpecker in trees next to car park.

  • 5/5

Lovely and quiet right by the river Severn. Parked up with one other van already here, two massive fields with picnic benches and bbqs to use walking from car park. Very quiet after dusk. Would definitely recommend.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot. The pub across the river was having a music event during August bank holiday, but it finished by 2300 and is far enough away to be considered bonus entertainment. Nice public toilet on the way back into Tewksbury

  • 4/5

Go to the end until the road stops ( we got confused as it was 1am & thought it was the first picnic area at the top of the road). Great little spot.Someone emptying the bins chatting and slamming doors & a festival at the campsite over the river but couldn’t hear with the windows & doors shut.On the river, great for walking the dogs! Picnic benches outside. Our first wild camping trip very happy!

  • 5/5

Great little area right on the side of the river, lovely to wake up to the ducks and the boats, a few motor homes here but still space for its and a few cars too.

  • 5/5

Great spot very quiet at night. Fairly level. Few pot holes in road down to car park. No facilities but free. 3 Motorhomes and 1 van fitted easily and still room for cars to park.

  • 5/5

Perfect park up, I would never have found this place on my own.

  • 5/5

Stayed here for one night in our campervan, 2 other motor homes there. There was room for more. Nice spot next to the river. Some music from the pub opposite but didn't keep us awake. Not far from town. We went to Morrisons in the morning for use of the facilities. Had a stroll along the river on a bridle path.

  • 3/5

    Loud music across the river.

  • 5/5

Stayed here a few times now. Usually other vans around too. Peaceful night right by the river. No facilities, but no charge either. Lovely little spot when the sun shines

  • 4/5

Stayed for a night, a few dog walkers and fishermen.. a quiet night.. short walk into town. A good little spot.

  • 5/5

I stayed here overnight on 30/04 - 01/05/2021, very comfortable. I was the only camper. A few fishermen in the morning and a few dog walkers. Great location next to the river. Will use again if in the area.

  • 4/5

Stayed here one night 01/05/21 . A nice secluded spot, shared with 3 other vans. Picnic tables and a litter bin, no other facilities.

  • 5/5

Great little car park on edge of River Severn. 3 other motorhomes and 2 small camper vans already there. Was enough space for everyone. Picnic tables and rubbish bin there (although the bin got emptied at 5am each morning). 12 minute walk into Tewkesbury. Access to river for water sports. Good walks through fields/woods for dogs. Very busy with cars parking for picnics or walks. would recommend.

  • 4/5

Stayed one night on a Saturday and it was fine. Couple of cars playing music at about 8pm but quiet after that. There’s a campsite across the river which is only £10 a night (at time of writing) without electric so we would probably choose that in future.

  • 3/5

Nice little car park, popular with fishermen. I'm not sure if it would be so quiet if the pub was fully operational across the river. Stayed one night with one other van. pretty peaceful.

  • 2/5

Beautiful spot but... local hangout for young adults and their cars more a case of them running round the carpark screaming and shouting, continued on to 3am. Might have been a one off but if you’re looking for a quiet night I’d go elsewhere.

  • 4/5

Lovely spot it gets busy though with youngsters meeting up with each other in the evening.

  • 2/5

The car park is completely flooded! Found a spot just down the road however. Nice place and quiet.

  • 5/5

Had very peaceful night here, only us and one other campervan, we have camped at the pub opposite in the past and have seen and heard boy racers at the weekend at this spot so perhaps midweek is the best time to use it.Will use again midweek!

  • 5/5

Stayed in july excellent spot right next to river severn two other campervans next to us very quite and slept well first time we have wild camped but was ok will have no worries about doing more wild camping

  • 5/5

Excellent spot. Only one other motorhome. Pub across the river loud with music and a wedding but once our doors closed did not disturb us. There is a ferry across the river but did not try, however seemed popular. Saw only 2 dog walkers in the morning.

  • 5/5

As close to perfect a spot as you'll find. some traffic - dog walkers etc - but by dusk it was just me and one other van. spoke to some dog walkers and they know it as a park up spot and have no problem with it. away from main road, next to where the Avon runs into the Severn. only thing that would improve it would be a tap!

  • 5/5

Brilliant spot. Was almost full in the car park when we arrived at 10pm (7 motorhomes), but plenty of space to park outside the car park. Very quiet. Right next to river. Lots of people canoeing on the river - so bring a boat! Picnic bench. Large playing field for flying a kite, etc. Good dog walk into fields behind. Could stay here for a week!

  • 5/5

Stayed here one night on Good Friday. Small car park by the River Severn. Noise could be heard from the pub across the other side of the riverbank but stopped at 11pm. Very quiet at night. Shared with two other motorhomes and a small panel van.

  • 4/5

Pequeña zona de picnic junto al río (sitio para 5/6 furgos. En sábado por la noche se escuchaba gente en la zona y a las 2.00am pasaron a recoger la basura!! Muy cerca de la autopista! Repetiría mis si volvemos por aquí.

  • 5/5

Excellent little spot by the river very quiet and left alone will definitely be using again

  • 4/5

Nice safe spot. No fee. Right on the river. No amenities.
