As others have mentioned already, lovely little spot by the river. Really nice guy running the campsite. Not too far to local amenities, fuel, couple of cafes and local walks at Sherwood Forest. £15 for 2 in a camper. Cash only. Easy access from the main road.
Lovely little laid back site with river access - every pitch even has its own decked area with a picnic table over the water which is pretty amazing. There are basic but clean toilets, washing up area and shower (£2 for 10mins). The owner is super friendly and helpful. And there are even kayaks to borrow if you fancy exploring up river. We paid £25 for the night fot two adults and two kids.
Auf dem Weg nach Edinburgh hier gestern eine Nacht verbracht. Wir haben spontan abends angerufen und der Inhaber war super freundlich und entspannt, es war kein Problem so kurzfristig dort einzukehren. Wir konnten in Euro bezahlen und haben genug Münzen für die Dusche noch bekommen, welche über einen Generator läuft. Heißes Duschen war problemlos. 10 Min für 2 Pfund reicht völlig mit Haare waschen
This place is wonderful. A small gem. The owner is fantastic and has all the time in the world for guests. Pitches were spacious with fresh water taps at each. Showers are £2 but very big and perfect for families. The picnic benches that hang over the river are lovely. A dedicated space to let dogs off their leads that is well fenced. Great access to the river with kayaks / paddleboards also.
Sehr netter, unkomplizierter Empfang. Bezahlung nur Cash, aber Mike akzeptiert auch Euros. Der Platz mit den Sitzplätzen über dem kleinen Fluss ist sehr idyllisch, aber die Straße ist leider sehr laut.
Zeer vriendelijk onthaal door sympathieke eigenaar. Klein maar fijn!
Idyllic place, with pitches on the river with a jetty on each pitch with picnic table. Banded demoiselles, moorhens with chicks, ermine moths and water voles.

Nice place to stay. Came without booking. Paid 20£ for van, 2 2 and dog. Showers for 2£/10min.
Nous nous sommes arrêtés juste pour le service. j'avais appelé le camping avant et il avait accepté. ce monsieur est très très sympathique et nous a fait payer 5 livres. endroit très sympathique pour y rester une nuit mais nous avions encore de la route à faire.
Lloc sencill però amb encant. És una barreja de àrea i càmping, llàstima que no té electricitat. El propietari és molt amable. Truqueu per telèfon, ja que no hi és sempre.

Bei der Ankunft vor der Schranke den sehr netten Betreiber angerufen. Er sagte uns den Code für das Schloss und wo wir uns hinstellen können. Nach 10 Minuten kam er und hat uns dann die Einrichtungen gezeigt. Kleiner Naturcampingplatz am Fluss mit einfachen Sanitäreinrichtungen. 15£ für Stellplatz/ 2 Personen 2£ extra für große Unisexdusche. Tagsüber recht laut durch Straße. Nachts aber ruhig.
Really nice, quiet site. The pitches are next to a river with picnic tables and a slab for a fire pit. It has all the facilities. Everyone is really friendly and make you feel welcome. Lots of local bike rides and places to explore. Will definitely be coming back.
Wunderschöne Anlage mit den kleinen Balkonen. Sehr netter Empfang, man muss vorher anrufen! Leider waren die Sanitäranlagen zwar vorhanden und funktionsfähig aber könnten deutlich mehr Aufmerksamkeit gebrauchen.
Geweldig leuk campinkje, geen electriciteit, maar mooie plekjes aan t riviertje met je eigen terrasje boven het water. Niet duur, zeker voor een overnachting (of meerdere) demoeite waard.
Was ein schöner kleiner Platz! Zwischen Straße und Flüsschen, mit Picknickplätzen und Ver- und Entsorgung. Freundlicher Betreiber. Vorher anrufen, da Tor sonst verschlossen. 15 Pfund sind gerechtfertigt, Dusche kostet aber zusätzlich 2 Pfund. Wir haben das nicht gebraucht.
Ein sehr schöner Ort, idyllisch gelegen. Der Besitzer hat uns freundlich empfangen und besitzt einen tollen Humor. Vorab telefonisch anmelden, sonst ist das Eingangstor geschlossen.

Emplacements super chou au bord de la rivière avec ponton individuel. Sanitaires spartiates mais ok. Pas d’eau chaude pour la vaisselle. Route adjacente, un peu de bruit, mais peu dérangeant. Proprio très sympa.
Kleiner und gemütlicher Platz. Der Eigentümer ist sehr freundlich. Für die Kinder war es ein Riesenspaß Stöcker in den kleinen Fluss zu werfen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
Great little campsite when travelling north or south as it is just off A1. Very friendly and helpful owner You need to ring before or on arrival as gates locked for security. Would definitely stay here again.
Wir waren heute dort, es war aber leider alles abgeriegelt und mit einem Schloss versperrt Keine Ahnung ob er generell geschlossen ist.

15 pond voor twee personen, douche 2 pond extra. De douche is koud en onhandig. Veel lawaai van voorbij rijdende auto's. Wel vriendelijke ontvangst en leuke picknick bankjes en een hondenweide.
We were here May 27th2023. I can only confirm the other comments: wonderful place. Just the sanitary installations were quite simple - but clean. Disposal of gray water with bucket and walk 10 m… Chemical toilet disposal perfect.
Wir waren hier um die Toilette und unser Grauwasser zu leeren. Der Platz ist sehr schön, direkt an einem kleinen Fluss. Der Besitzer hat uns super freundlich begrüßt, und angeboten, dass wir eine Pause auf dem Platz machen dürfen. Für die Nacht bestimmt auch ein sehr guter Platz!
Arrived after a chilled out week in Shropshire. Mike was there to meet us. Very friendly. Showed us around the facilities and site. 2 other vans here. Everyone very friendly. Lovely site right on the river. Beautiful Swans and though close to a busy road not at all disturbed. Close to Sherword forest and Clumber park.
We were only here briefly to dispose our waste water. We were welcomed nicely and offered to stay there for a short break. The place looks very clean and nice. Certainly also a good place to stay for the night.
Sehr schöner Platz mit eingezäuntem Freilauf für Hunde. Ich habe spontan einen Platz bekommen und der Besitzer war sehr freundlich.
adorable petit camping qui ne semble pas attirant à première vue. Pourtant , il est très calme, au bord d'un petit court d'eau avec une table et des bancs pour chaque camping car ou caravane. Les sanitaires et la douche sont très propres et adaptés pour les personnes avec handicap. 12 £ pour la nuit pour le camping car 2 £ pour la douche. Seul bémol pas d'électricité.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Der Stellplatz am Fluss mit dem dazugehörigen Tisch über dem Wasser war auch sehr sehr schön! Wir haben uns auch Kanus ausgeborgten können und sind damit auf dem Fluss gefahren. Der Besitzer des Campingplatzes war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wenn wir mal wieder in die Gegend kommen werden wir sicher wieder vorbeischauen!

The cost is now £12 a night. This is pitch only as there is no electric hook up on site. Staying there later this week so will do an update then. Can say, very friendly owners as had a long chat today.

Stayed recently on a trip south from Scotland. Easy access from the A1 and a lovely restful spot. in fact so restful I stayed 2 nights. Will definitely use again.

At the side of a river, a very pleasant site No toilets or showers at the moment due to Covid 19. No EHU. £10 per night or £5 for just services . Owner very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely use it again, if in the area!
Ein schön gelegener Platz direkt am Bach. Preis okay, Ausstattung funktionell. Highlight war Mick, der überaus freundliche und aufgeschlossene Betreiber des Platzes mitsamt seines Hundes. Waren für eine Nacht auf der Durchreise nach Schottland dort - wäre auch länger geblieben!
Lovely little campsite on fast flowing river. Has canoeing docks and offers fishing on request. Pitch on River with picnic benchs. Site caters for all size campers and backpackers. Clean toilets and £2 for showers. Fenced area for dogs. Waste disposal facilities. Site is on outskirts of village with many public footpaths and two cycle routes near by. It has no electric but its only £10.
I’ve stayed on here a number of times had a very relaxing time. Note no EHU so solar panel or additional batteries maybe required.

Petit camping sympa. Très propre et très bien équipé (manque juste l'électricité). Possibilité de prendre vos repas sur de petits pontons posés sur la rivière (équipés de table et bancs). Propriétaire accueillant et disponible pour tous renseignements. Très agréable étape.

Famille, 4 pers av. enfants en bas âge, Van. Top pour 10 pounds. Très accueillant. Vue sympa. Le proprio n'est pas toujours sur place donc il faut appeler ou avoir du bol. Toilettes, ok. Douches: 2 pounds/9 minutes d'eau bien chaude. Aire de recyclage déchets et espace pour toilettes chimiques (endroit bien pensé). La route est peut-être un poil passante mais pas la nuit. Rare en Angleterre...
Charmant arrêt, nous avons appelé à notre arrivée et le propriétaire nous a donné le numéro de cadenas. Il y a un centre de tri « maison » très bien pensé, propriétaire très sympa. Douche payante pour 9 Minutes environ d’eau, donc plus que nécessaire. Il ne manque que l’électricité !
Camping muy acogedor, con los servicios mínimos pero muy bien cuidados, el matrimonio mayor que nos recibió desde su AC, sin reserva previa nos han tratado fenomenal. muy buen ambiente y tranquilidad

Coming to the end of our stay at Riverside, the walking and cycling have been fantastic, Clumber, Sherwood, Budby, Sherwood Pines and Ruffled have all been visited. Nearby Ollerton and Retford have provided our needs for shopping and eating out. The site is quiet and very nicely located, the owner is very friendly and helpful indeed. Cannot wait to return.
Really nice campsite for one or more nights. The owner is very friendly. The only thing which is a bit disapointing are the two streets which get a bit loud monday mornig. The night was quiet.
