Free car park near Sileby railway station. I arrived at 1am and there was plenty of space available, with only ten cars and a motorhome parked up. The area is very quiet, despite being located in a small town center. There are plenty shops, supermarkets and takeaways close by. Update* Was woken just before 8am by a train flying passed, and then a lorry making a delivery to one of the shops.

the car park is no longer unrestricted for overnight parking unfortunately. The sign says that parking is free but a penalty fare for cooking and camping so I wouldn't risk it. ofcourse free if you want to park the van for the day to explore so given 2 stars.
