Seathwaite Farm Campsite

Seathwaite Farm Campsite

Basic farm site in a great location for hiking Scafell Pike, Great Gable and tons more Cumbrian fells. In a magnificent setting with boulder-lined stream pools and sweeping mountain side views from the whole field. Pretty flat too.

The site has a camping barn and showers. There are National Trust public toilets by the farm open 24 hours (signs request no cassette emptying). No electricity, no phone or internet service on Three or EE

There are sheep everywhere, including in the campsite field, but dogs are allowed. No shops anywhere nearby but you can get the bus from Seatoller to Keswick.

Access down the B road from Keswick and then the tiny road from Seatoller is tight. We managed it in a 2.2m wide, 6m motorhome and there were a couple of bigger (7m ) motorhomes. Arrive and leave after 10am for the best chance of missing cars on the single track section.

Payment by honesty box. £15 The site has no reception office, you just turn up and leave when you like.

Seathwaite Farm Campsite

Lovely location however make sure it’s dry. When we got there the whole campsite was a bog and we would have got stuck. Had to turn around and find somewhere else. Will try again when it dries out. Would have been £30 for the night for one campervan and two adults. Cash payment on arrival only.

Once out of season they close the eco toilets so your left with the National Trust toilets which are the best, no hot water/drying facilities, Tim who sorted us out where to camp was very helpful & friendly! Had no signal with EE nearest place was Keswick, we had two tent boxes, got charged person, first night was £16 for one person and car then £8 per night

Tap water! I asked and they allowed me to fill the water tank for free even not using they services. The place seems great for camping. It's perfect to Scafffel Pike.

Fantastic location, with lots of big walks to do from the area, and a lovely smaller walk up to a fantastic waterfall. Amazing clear stream running behind the site that is deep enough to take a dip When you arrive, just park up, later that day or the next morning, the farmer will drive up and take payment. Toilets are long drops but very clean No shop, no phone signal

Great location for walking, no signal. Loses a star because the facilities aren’t great and the toilets are a trough

Perfect stay for a weekend camping while taking on Scafell pike, the views were nothing less than something out of a book

Found this campsite via this app, couldn’t reccomend it enough. £8 per person/per night plus £8 single car change. £40 for two nights total cost for us. Toilets were usable for a farm campsite and shower block was clean and easy for function, £1 for 5 mins of hot water. Currently building new eco toilets with lights to be opening soon. Scafell pike route from here was way to follow and perfect!

Sign at the entrance is very miss leading it says £10 overnight parking but it’s not true. The farmer comes around ask for more money. Says it’s £8pppn and £8 per vehicle and has a attitude about it. Well why don’t he change his sign. Probably to lure people on knowing most will pay the extra instead of moving on. Nice views but £24 for two adults to park on a bit grass is a bit over priced.

Great location for our trek up to Scafell Pike, and very happy to get back to the comfort of our camper van after being battered by High winds and rain all the way back down.

Stunning campsite!!! It still gives you the wild camping feel but with facilities. The scenery is 360, fires allowed, dogs allowed and you just turn up / pitch up. Definitely add this stop to your Lakes trip. £7PPPN and £8 vehicle charge - cash only.

Stayed here in October, turned up and payed on arrival, farmer is really friendly. Stayed for two nights and you can climb scarfell pike straight from the campsite. Had toilets and showers, need pound coin for showers. Great views.

Stayed here May bank holiday weekend. Website says you need to book no exceptions but we just arrived and paid with no problems, the farmer was very friendly. You need cash and pound coins for the showers. Absolutely no phone signal. Scenic and perfect for hiking Scafell.
