Amazing view! But... Parked up, got settled then the council man said no over night parking we had to move to Tower Knowle just over the viaduct. He said we had to pay £10 but I couldn't find the website! So paid in the morning
C'est un petit parking juste à côté du lac avec une vue parfaite. Vous devez payer 10 £ au centre d'accueil voisin. Un gardien/agent de sécurité vient après 9 heures et insistera. Vaut la peine pour la vue.
It's a small parking lot right next to the lake with a perfect view. You have to pay £10 at the nearby visitor centre. A guard/security guard comes after 9am and will insist. Worth it for the view.
Es ist ein kleiner Parkplatz direkt am See mit perfekter Aussicht. Im nahe gelegenen Besucherzentrum müssen Sie 10 £ bezahlen. Ein Wachmann/Wachmann kommt nach 9 Uhr morgens und wird darauf bestehen. Es lohnt sich für die Aussicht.

Lovely day spot, cracking view. We paid £10 for overnight ticket from the castle car park as suggested. Got the knock from council man, no overnighting in this one. He said the car park over the dam and Tower Knowe lower car (about 1/2 a mile back up the west side of the lake) park would be ok, we chose the latter.
RichardA02/10/2021Another great spot courtesy of Northumbria Water. Gave only 4 stars because the car park on the other side of the dam (you can drive over) is bigger and more out the way. NB This spot is very easy to locate on the map but my data nav sent me all over the place!
Meljb30/07/2021Nice spot for a night or two. There are pay machines but they only take coins! In fact all of the car parks we found in the area are the same so make sure you take plenty of change (not all of the car parks allow overnight stops).
