A bigish dirt layby next to a road. Maybe space for 8 vehicles. It's rural so it will be reasonably quiet after hours and it's not National Trust so I don't think anyone will move you on. The circular walk of Loweswater Lake passes by this spot so it's ideal for a base camp. It's on a slight slope but there's 2 levelish spots at the top and bottom of the layby. No mobile signal (ID Mobile/3).

Kein Mobilfunksignal (ID Mobile / 3).

camped there overnight. had no issues, a few cars/tractors go past but does down in the evening very quiet. lovely view of the lake. Nice walk round. Good place to stop.

My most favourite overnight stay on our trip. we were the only ones there for the night, could park a bit set back towards the trees out the way, although not completely level. Absolutely stunning views and found a little path to walk down to the lake. A few cars went by up until about 8/9 and was quiet through the night. Plenty of space.

Stopped her last night next to the lake just us no other vans the lay-by is quite steep so we parked at the top on the grass no phone signal no tv signal very dark love it

Stayed on a Saturday night, only us there in our T5, great little quiet place to overnight

A lovely spot to spend a night. The layby is little sloped, but the flatter spots are at the very top (on grass) or at the bottom.pubs about 1 ½ miles, nice & friendly but may get busy for food, so book. A few walkers in the day & the odd car, but apart from that tital tranquilty. A lovely view over the lake can be had. Only downside is there is no Internet (if that's a downside at all).

Very peaceful and remote (apart from when we set our own security alarm off trying to lock the van.. really sorry neighbours!), easy to find even in the dark. Stunning views of the lake. Lots of nature.

Lovely spot. We were on our own and witnessed a storm over the lake. Quiet and clean. Made sure we left no trace so others can enjoy it too

Lovely spot, the quietest place we’ve stayed, beautiful view of the lake first thing in the morning. Relatively flat surface at the top and bottom of the lay-by. No litter, beautiful spot :)

Quiet after hours and flatter at the top so a good spot for an overnight stay close to nature.

Stopped over night on a Monday and had the spot to ourselves. Nice quiet spot with minimal traffic and great birdsong all around. Top of layby is pretty flat but it does slope down hill if you're unable to get at the higher point but plenty of room all the same. Nice walks down to Holmewood too around the lake.

Stayed here last night. lovely quiet night. like others have said, 2 levelish spots. we parked right at the top, tugged in behind the small trees. Only slight issues. it was pretty muddy after recent rain and no mobile signal, although that doesn't worry us, it might put some people off.

Great little spot. Very quiet in off season. Best spot Is to tuck in off the road.
