Flat and safe. But the road is surprisingly busy all through the night. Lots of lorries, whose uphill struggle makes their noise linger for ages. If you're overly tired (as we were) it's an possibility, but if you have the option to go elsewhere, then I'd aim to find somewhere away from the road/more quiet.

Good to get off the road for a lunch break or an overnight if you are desperate. 3 lorry trailers in the lay-by and noise from the road. Just stopped for lunch.
