What a lovely place! Staff super friendly, dog friendly and food was delicious. I easily parked my motorhome on the car park. I will definitely be returning!

Great stopover (wednseday) lovely pub, free to stay in carpark if drink and eat which is curtious to do so anyway. No facilities other than toilet when pub open. food great, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and little village not sure what's nearby as didn't venture out. Dogs welcome. highly recommend if in the area . stayed in 7.3 motorhome no access problems.

we have just enjoyed a superb meal here and are parked up in the car park of this quiet village pub. Now under new ownership the pub has reduced their overnight parking spots to 2 and it is essential that you phone ahead and book both a table for a meal and your overnight spot.

Ein freundlicher Empfang , gutes Essen und danach eine ruhige Nacht auf dem Parkplatz hinter dem Pub. Die Hunde sind herzlich willkommen und nebenan grunzen neugierige Schweine. Absolut empfehlenswert .

A lovely quiet spot to stay the night, right by the castle.. It is a lovely pub and restaurant and the staff are wonderfully welcoming and really helpful. I had a delicious meal, cod cheeks with chilli in Panko breadcrumbs and a main of Sea Bass with prawns and clams and parmietier potatoes. Please note that The restaurant and pub closes early on a Sunday evening.

Friendly staff, good food, great place to stay, only small issue was parking space when we arrived, but manage to find two spots for the night, pigs were nosey but a pleasure

I’m reluctant to report this for fear of spoiling what is an absolute gem of an overnight stop. Peace and quiet, a flat gravel pitch and an excellent pub/restaurant in the midst of an attractive, well-kept historical village. Jon & Amy have done an amazing job refurbishing the Black Horse Inn and it is rightly popular with locals - you’ll need to book in advance on Fri/weekends to get a meal.

This pub is temporarily closed so went to ingoldisthorpe instead(would highly recommend). Would’ve been a lovely spot and quaint little village with an amazing tea room too. The castle was closed when we went so couldn’t view it and as it belongs to English heritage and was all gated. Well worth a visit when it reopens IF the landlord has the same ideas for campers x

Great overnight stop. Pub meal required, but it was my wife's birthday so we pushed the boat out. Superb food. Just a shame the news of the death of the Queen was announced that same evening.

Great place for an overnight stop. Large car park and very quiet at night. Castle close by too to go and visit. Booked a table for an evening meal so we could stay over. Food was good quality although the service was slow due to the restaurant being busy. Will use again.

Be Warned! we traveled for 2 hours but arrived just after they had closed the restaurant. So we purchased 2 large glasses of wine costing £15 only to be told in a robotic way that it was policy to only allow stop overs with a meal. He said that if word got around the Parish Council would complain. What tosh! So we quickly drank up and won’t be gracing them ever again! Found park up at Wolferton

super stopover big level car park could get 20 motorhomes in pub old and quaint not the cheapest for food but good quality, very welcoming staff nothing to much trouble for them

Absolutely superb, great food even though there was only a reduced menu. Large car park where overnight stays are welcome when dining at the premises. Back again tomorrow for the full menu after a visit to Sandringham. Thank you Harry and staff for being so welcoming to us and our 2 Chows

stayed here in may, rolled up not booked before hand, had a nice meal then off to bed for a early start next day, very quite, staff were really nice, let my two dogs in pub as we had food, one other camper there, would stay there again, thanks for having us.

Now allowing stop overs again. Warm welcome and great food. Highly recommended.

Just checked with the pub - overnight camping no longer allowed :-(

  • 1/5

No overnight parking permitted here now folks, seems the council have raised an objection.

Had a nice meal and stayed overnight last night. Phoned ahead and prebooked. Made very welcome on arrival. Quiet overnight until about 5.15 am, when a car left the gravel car park. Small amount of work traffic after that. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Black Horse!

Lovely staff and food. Quiet stoney car park by a nice old church. Quiet roads and cute pigs in the garden next door. Would definitely come back

A lovely little village . We stopped 1 night on the pubs grounds . Rang the pub up beforehand said we can stop if we buy food and drink. Carpark was busy in the day but as the evening wore on we was the only ones. Great walking places from the pub we found a circular walk . Only do carvery’s on a Sunday £15 a head which was lovely but not enough.
