Parking de la piscine municipale. Très belle aire. Nous y avons passé la nuit. Au bord d'une rivière, le parking est éclairé toute la nuit.
Extended P related to municipal swimming pool. Very nice area even to overnight. The river, the park is lit up at night. Wooden hiking trail “Passadiço da Ribeira Grande” starts opposite side of the bridge till Fronteira village. In S zone of village, interesting building about Atoleiros battle (in 1384; search “Centro de Interpretação”). NOTE: strong flood damaged bridge in 2022-Dec and road is cut; so, access only from N (via Alter do Chão).
Parkplatz im städtischen Schwimmbad. Sehr schöne Gegend. Wir haben hier die Nacht verbracht. Der Fluss und der Park ist nachts beleuchtet.

The Roman Bridge is badly damaged and closed. There is a single track Bridge at the side. The river beach has been washed away and all the facilities flooded out. It is still possible to stay in the carpark near the outdoor pool. Be watchful of areas of deep sand.
Very large car park, in winter when the swimming pool is closed all is quiet. Surrounded by storks in their nests, beautiful. The road is quiet at night. Nice walking path along the river just before the bridge across the road. Fronteira is a nice village.
At the other side of this Park there is another with better conditions. A playground, bathrooms and a more enjoyable stay near the river. stayed for a nigth with no problem, it was a monday so the bar was closed and it was all very quiet.
