(G83) Balloch - Old Luss Road

Geweldige locatie, wij stonden vrijwel aan het strandje. Mooi uitzicht en veel watersport activiteiten. Toiletten aan het begin van de afslag (dixie). Veel prullenbakken en dichtbij de A82.

Busy road during the day and very close to the sidewalk. Would use again if I was really struggling for a spot

Lovely views of the Loch but narrow road with single or double yellow lines along all but a small section (part of which was on a bridge). It was a very busy day when we were here so may be different in low season. Might be ok to park up during the day if you could get a space but personally wouldn’t stay the night here.

Nice quiet spot, just a road so no facilities. could be a little worrying for lone travellers, however felt safe with my dog. easy walk to the town and banks of the loch

Too dark and secluded. Didn‘t feel safe and went somewhere else.

L’endroit est sombre, des voitures roulaient vites et nous frôlaient. Nous étions à cheval sur le trottoir, vers 0h00 nous avons décidé de partir car on ne se sentait pas en sécurité! Nous avons été dans une impasse de quartier de maison finir notre nuit! Je recommande pas du tout ce lieu en tout cas !

bon spot cependant il y a le bruit de la route mais pratique. quelque passage sur la route de nuit mais on peut ce garer et faire demi tour facilement en van

OK if you don't mind constant noise of traffic

visited but didn't stay the night. lots of trees covering the road so would have had very little solar power! good signal on 3 network but much nicer spots close by :)

Initially looked at this but as a loan female and nee to campervanning, I felt it was too dark secluded for me so moved to somewhere that felt safer .

You could hear the road but we thought a low rumble was much better than cars driving past close by/rush hour starting in the morning. Very few cars/people came past us. Most other vans chose to stay behind the pub or the visitors centre. There’s a new car park by the bird sanctuary, lots of motor homes there, but we didn’t spot if there were restrictions.

Very quiet spot. Most of the lane has a slight gradient. Parked at the top the following day so we could stroll in to Balloch.

Most of this is outside private homes....just feels rude to be intruding. Couldn't stay here.

A lovely quiet location tucked just a minute away from shops etc. Make sure not to park too close to A82…

Road as described, but very dark with overhanging trees. Cyclists & joggers using road. Met another motorhomer who decided it was too quiet/remote. Both of us went to open public car park by bridge & marina.

We were the only van on this mile stretch of road in sunny May 2021 we couldn’t believe it. Sheltered by trees and with no through traffic due to the road being a dead end it was very quiet. Few joggers etc going passed in the evening but nothing overnight. Very close to walks around Balloch. Had a lovely meal sat outside The Pier kitchen and bar which we would recommend. Macdonalds only a 1 min drive in the morning for a breakfast and toilet break.

Great spot, very little road noise, only one other van on the whole stretch, we parked near to the start but further along is tree lined on both sides.

No facilities around unless you go to McDonalds (3 min drive ish) but quiet, a couple of late night/early morning walkers and cyclists but no bother to us! Not many bugs or midgies so was nice to have doors open! Very shaded and long road plenty of space for many campers!

Very quiet and wasn’t disturbed. Limited view of lake. Easy place to stop at the beginning of the national park :)

Functional spot on empty road with plenty of space. Limited views of Loch Lomond. Under tree cover, can hear cars on the main road. Not the most private spot in the morning with joggers and cyclists but good spot to walk in to Balloch for the evening. Would recommend Cucina, a lovely Italian restaurant.

Easy location to locate. Very empty and room for many vehicles. I suggest stopping somewhere near the start of the road as the further down you get the closer to the A82 you are, therefore there is more traffic noise, although we stayed right at the end and the noise didn't disturb our sleep.
