Great view, big lay by, parked overnight: no signs! 5 others overnight too. Occasional car passing beeped their horn. Cracking sunset and sunrise! ?

Tolle Aussicht, großer Liegeplatz, über Nacht geparkt: keine Schilder! 5 andere auch über Nacht. Gelegentliche vorbeifahrende Autos piepsten. Knackender Sonnenuntergang und Sonnenaufgang! ?

Agree with the other reviews. Overall, lovely little spot with no problem staying overnight. Downside is it can be quite windy and a busy lay-by with other cars at the viewpoint overnight and the occasional beeping from passing vehicles. If you’re happy to put up with that, it’s worth stopping here for the view, would recommend!

  • 4/5

Few vans parked up,fairly busy but what a view to wake up too!

  • 4/5

Beautiful spot… But I can see why it’s practically impossible to park anywhere in Dorset. Came tonight as did many locals with their families & children to watch the fireworks displays… one camper has decided to park sideways taking up more space and proceeds to dump their tank into the carpark floor for all to listen to whilst trying to enjoy the fireworks… don’t be like this old couple. 8/11/25

  • 4/5

Great spot stunning views. But of traffic but no bother.

  • 4/5

Stayed here one night mid week, big lay-by, a few other campers here as well, lovely views over Poole harbour. Had a few youngsters with loud music stop for a bit but didn’t stay long, got beeped at a few times by passers by, probably disgruntled locals. Overall quiet overnight and would stay again.

  • 3/5

  • 3/5

Could be lovely but the bad weather meant there wasn’t much view to enjoy, very exposed to the wind, and the van rocked by passing cars. I spent a few hours resting here in the afternoon, but ended up spending the night in a small car park by the golf course that had hedges to protect us better from the elements. Great dog walk on the doorstep there :)

  • 2/5

Super Aussicht, relatv flach.

  • 4/5

As others have said, absolutely stunning views! Road is relatively busy and had a couple of beeps and people driving very fast but nothing that overly disturbed us.

  • 4/5

Certainly a park up with a view. It’s a busy road which quietens down as the evening progresses. We had no beeping in the night. There is a style and footpath across the fields below. Lovely to see deer in the morning. Can get busy as it’s a popular spot. There is an alternative further up by the golf course.

  • 5/5

Great stop, plenty of spaces and it widens out so our long van could reverse in and still be off the road. Amazing views and easy to find a level bit, lots of cars during the day but very quiet at night - when we stayed there were just three campervans and all spread out. A couple of beeps from locals driving past but nothing that disturbed us, best stop in the area!

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

free parking 24hrs, we parked here on the 29th march 2025, rd fairly busy until ferry's stop, we did have a couple of toots but nothing during the night, it was quite windy so the motorhome did rock a bit, we had one toot about 8ish that was it, Gorgeous view all around

  • 4/5

quiet in the winter months stay here every so often but as previous comments say the cars driving by beeping does happen idk why people feel the need to wake up van lifers but oh well still a good spot with good views

  • 4/5

Stopped here to have breakfast. Panoramic views! You are on the main road and a little exposed. I saw campers parked up this morning when I drove past, at 10:30am when I stopped for breakfast it was pretty empty. I guess it might be different in the summer. Nice little spot though

  • 5/5

Had a great night's sleep here last night. As previous reviews state, it is a little busy at night till around 9pm. I didn't experience any 'beep beep' merchants myself, but there were some comings and goings of youths smoking exotic tobacco til 10. The layby is flatter further up the hill. Enjoy.

  • 3/5

Great view, but cars started driving by around 5am on a Sunday! The ground was rather flat and the space was plentiful.

  • 2/5

  • 3/5

The views are absolutely stunning but it’s SO NOISY! My partner and I woke up numerous times throughout the night to horns pipping (about 5). Why do people do that?! There is plenty of room, one of the largest lay-bys we’ve ever stopped at. It’s a B road so you’d think it would be fairly quiet but it’s the Studland Road which is the main road to the famous Studland Bay so traffic starts at 7am.

  • 5/5

Vista bellissima, abbiamo dormito la notte, tutto tranquillo. Eravamo insieme ad altri 5 van.

  • 5/5

Had a great night here with just the 1 longisg beep going past around 11pm. There were 3 motorhomes and my T5 camper and I'd say enough space for about 10/13 easily. Two of us parked length ways which was safe with no space issues. the other two sideways which was also easy for them. Great views to end the day and to wake up to. thumbs up from me

  • 5/5

Ideal place as you can pop down to Studland in the morning for coffee/food. We did get the 4am beep beep, however other than that a fairly quiet night. Amazing views and sunrise!

  • 5/5

gorgeous view, must be seen to be believed. My partner reported a few beeps but I can't say it woke me. would definitely return

  • 4/5

Great layby for the night! Busy but we got a space when we arrived at about 9pm in half term! Nice and flat. View was amazing at sunset and in the morning. Only little issue was assuming some locals think it's funny to drive past at midnight honking their horn but this only happened twice and then silence.

  • 5/5

Wonderful view, great place to stay overnight.

  • 4/5

Layby parking with very nice view point of Poole Harbour. No services. Footpath access into field below (to walk dog etc) Layby not that wide, just about fit our 6 metre length pulling straight in. Very busy / popular with locals in evening. Then lots of youths in cars until about 10pm,some playing music, but they did not cause any issues. Quiet night's sleep. Short drive to Swanage

  • 4/5

Hele mooie overnachting plek. Prachtig uitzicht. Geen faciliteiten. Zeer rustig ‘‘s nachts.

  • 4/5

Nice spot - great views - No facilities.

  • 5/5

Used this lay-by a few times now great place to stop with beautiful studland a few minutes down the road

  • 4/5

Amazing views & sunset. Two other campers pulled up. 3 cars did beep their horns during the night and one at 5am (weekday night).

  • 5/5

Stayed here overnight along with a few other motorhomes that turned up. Very quiet for being just off the road but the views were amazing. Would definitely recommend going even if it’s just for the view.

  • 3/5

Good parkup with great views. 3 cars drove past after midnight using the horn and shouting to wake everyone up. Another drove past using horn early in the morning. Apart from that it was a good stay

  • 4/5

Super little lay-by with stunning views.

  • 5/5

As others have mentioned, road noise from 7am ish though it didn't really affect me. There were a few cars when we arrived at 10pm but they soon left leaving just the two vehicles in the large layby overnight. The night view over Poole Harbour was amazing as was the daytime view

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Very large lay-by on the side of a country road with stunning views. Not quite level but it didn’t cause an issue. Was almost full when I got there about 9pm but then a few cars who were there for sunset left, so plenty of space. The odd car drives past but between 10pm and 7am it was nice and quiet. I’ve yet to find a better lay-by park up.

  • 5/5

Lovely lay-by with stunning views looking towards Poole. Space for 10-12 vehicles. As by the road it can be noisy until 9pm but was fine afterwards. One of the nicest pull ins we have stayed in!

  • 4/5

Bit of road noise but flat and a great view

  • 4/5

2nd time here, nice view, little bit of road noise. Good TV and mobile signal. Only 10 minutes from Studland Beach ;-)

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

Very large layby with fabulous views over Poole harbour, golf course, and out to sea. Style on far left with access to walks. No horn tooting as previously reported. A few other vans pulling up for a while but only one other over night. Road was quiet between 11pm and 6am but otherwise there was a fair amount of fast traffic shaking the van. Nice and flat. As lay bys go - one of the nicer ones.

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

Beautiful view over Poole harbour. Deer in field below. Not great for dogs as too dangerous to walk on road outside of lay-by. Few cars turning up leaving engines running then tooting horns when leaving. Quiet later on.

  • 4/5

Road has traffic passing from about half 6 but it was quiet overnight and the sunset and views are excellent. 4G on o2 was patchy.

  • 2/5

  • 4/5

beautiful view, and other campers so felt safe. lits turn up to watch the sunset then leave again so quite a busy spot. downside - boy racers late evening and noise from the road. also a very high up spot and ever so slight slope and I was nervous about my handbrake failing and me rolling off the hillside while I slept, so in turn - I didn't really get much sleep! that's my issue though ;)

  • 4/5

Had one night here and were treated to a beautiful sunset. Got very busy about 9pm as people turned up to watch the sunset but then quietened down after. On a bit of a slope so parked sideways by the stone bench. We are National Trust members so stayed on Knoll Beach car park until 8pm to use the toilets and headed back down there at 8am to use them again. Would recommend for the beautiful views.

  • 2/5

Try to stay but…..quite a noisy busy road. We could just about put up with it then around 930 the racing began which was accompanied by the horn beeping. Final straw was the couple who pulled up in the car with the base up loud. They had a very odd plant in the car with them!!!! We moved on

  • 5/5

Stunning sunrise view to wake up to. Plenty of space and no restrictions overnight. A couple of boy racers until about 9pm but otherwise a quiet night.

  • 3/5

Busy during the day, youngsters there till 9pm. Cars started passing fast at 6am. Ground is level, plenty of room for 8 vehicles

  • 3/5

Views are great, busy with locals until around 10pm. Road and layby is busy early evening and morning. Stayed here successfully with another motorhome, and no beeps. Plenty of space for a number of vehicles.

  • 4/5

Great views well worth a night

  • 4/5

Stunning view for miles. Sadly we enjoyed the sound of horns a few times and the road is quite noisy in the morning. I would stay again though

  • 5/5

Lovely spot , views and quiet apart from one beepy horn person @11pm ....

  • 4/5

Good spot a little difficult to get in if you have a large van ours is 7.5 ton can get in there but have to go side on and not nose on where alot of smaller campers & motorhomes can park nose on. An amazing place to watch sunset over Poole harbour get some mad drone footage from here or even just from normal camera defo worth a visit here

  • 4/5

Beautiful views over Studland. Quite a popular spot for people to pull up so a fair bit of movement until late. Road can get noisy in the morning but worth it for somewhere easy to pull up in this lovely area

  • 5/5

A great spot and view point! Not good in windy weather though.. the road isn’t too loud and there aren’t any no camping signs! Few other campers stayed the night too.

  • 3/5

Stayed there last night. I couldn’t see any signs for no overnight parking. A few other campers as well. Just beside the road but plenty of room: busy and noisy until 21:30, fairly quiet after that (weekday). Great views

  • 5/5

Lovely overnight spot, 8 others also stopped. Some road noise but not too bad especially for a roadside lay-by.

  • 4/5

Great spot, stunning views, some traffic on the road but what else would you expect from a roadside lay-by.

  • 3/5

Nice layby to stop at. it was quiet when we stayed but it was on a Monday so might be busier at the weekend. I didn't think the road was that busy or noisy. Couldn't see any signs saying no oversight parking etc. The views and walking opportunities are great.

  • 2/5

Beautiful views but now has a sign to say no overnight sleeping

  • 4/5

We found it quite a busy laybye till late evening with couples and blaring music which isnt ideal. the view alone however makes this 4*. mostly level parking, no facilities. the road is fairly busy but we werent woken during the night

  • 3/5

There is now a ‘no camping/overnight parking’ sign. Though I’m not sure if it’s enforceable. Great views but definitely not quiet on the two nights we stayed. Fast traffic and as others mentioned people beep horns as they go past. Can be very windy.

  • 4/5

The views are stunning. About 4 cars parked and played music until midnight, sporadic cars stopped throughout the night and wake us up too. Maybe don’t go there on a Sat night. Also, road is a 60 limit and is right after a turn, it felt a bit dangerous.

  • 4/5

Stayed for two nights. Good spot, great views. Popular with vehicles coming and going till the early hours. Will definitely stay again!

  • 3/5

2 campervans Sat 23 Nov. lots of noisy cars, some hooting horns even in the morning. Fab view and cows got their breakfast as we had ours!

  • 5/5

Full house tonight with 3 vans and a camper. Very busy road with traffic leaving Studland beach but quiet by 10pm

  • 4/5

Few campers when I arrived and more joined overnight. Windy early on but I got a nice night's sleep. The sound of large vehicles flying past in the morning was a little worrying but a coffee soon cheered me up. Sign post in place but no sign on it.

  • 3/5

Lovely view and good spot. However traffic is heavy and it’s a 60mph from around 6am. No good if you don’t like rising early. Can imagine it may also get windy.

  • 4/5

Spent the night here last weekend. A few campers parked up already and was joined by more later. A few cars till about 11pm then was quite till morning. Great sunrise over poole harbour.

  • 3/5

No noise late at night other than traffic. Loud visitors at 6am but that may have been because it was bank holiday. Not a bad stopover.

  • 3/5

Nice views. Needed ear plugs after local youths arrived chatting, drinking and playing music from the their cars until after midnight

  • 2/5

Nice view across Poole harbour but busy road.

  • 4/5

Arrived at 7pm. Two other vans. Was not bothered all night. Cars kept pulling up playing low music until about 11pm. Was quite there after with odd car passing during the night. Got very windy.
