Yip, it’s now a pay and display car park, with a 4 hour maximum stay. Traffic warden has been seen ticketing people......so do not head to this spot, you will be wasting your time.

The council just turned it into pay and display (Jan 2021). This was caused by the large number of campervans parking overnight. Thank you Park4Night!

Unfortunately today they have changed the small area directly in front of the harbour wall to disabled badges only and no overnight parking. The small car park further along is now Pay and display with no overnight. I spoke to the guys installing the machines and they said it had been abused which is a real shame as it is such a lovely spot. You can still park further around the corner where the tide can come right over the road as it’s managed by a different council.

Beautiful view, peaceful, no pesky kids with music etc. A stone's throw from the (lovely) town so can wander down for dinner. Stunning place and a rare spot that doesn't have a no parking sign in the area. Respect it, leave no trace, let's keep it accessible the van lifers.

Note.... only 4 hours only parking. You'll risk getting a ticket here... Shame

Can get busy 17/18 spots in total, we needed to wait for a car to leave. Quiet during the night, toilets close by - 1 left open all night

Lovely little spot, does get busy in the morning recommend arriving between 6 and 8pm when car park slightly more quieter, a strong 4G signal

Lovely views no bother . plenty of overnight neighbours . very busy in daytime . cars go around 7/8ish at night so plenty of room.

Arrived yesterday, very peaceful, lots of walks, and bathrooms just a short walk away (in the paid car park). 3 bars of 4G phone signal (vodafone). Very quiet at night.

Lovely spot, had to park up at the bay 50m down the road as the main one had 4 vans there already. There were 2 vans in that one too. This was on a very wet Saturday night in December so I imagine it would be very busy in the summer. But saying that had a very peaceful night and woke up to beautiful view across the estuary.

Very nice spot. Clean toilets in main (Pay) car park 200m away. This free parking area is a popular spot and busy with cars during the day too. At night I had 3 other camper vans for company. Looks like a possible second small roadside parking area (would take smaller vans) a further 50m down the road, on the LEFT hand side (the field side), but it is slightly slopey ground.

Great spot, quiet with the only noise you will hear is the sound of the rigging on the boats in the harbour until the noise of the cars from the early Dog Walkers in the morning , lovely walk around the Nature reserve.
