Yep it isn't perfect but heck its a cracking site, women's toilets open all night if you give the door a little push but no light. they are nice and clean and so is the site. very little traffic at night and the ground is lovely and flat next to the fire station. will be back for sure thank you
Not great for an overnight as there seem to be lights everywhere, especially near the flat spots. Proximity to the tunnel is good but there are probably better options.
We need more of these in the UK - a large public car park with no height barrier on the edge of a pretty village and no cost. Some areas are a little bit sloping but plenty of flat too. The toilets were open 8.am to 6pm, with lighting and loo paper! The village has a tiny post office, two pubs and a tea room and the North Downs Way passes through it. An excellent place to stay overnight.
Very quiet night, the owl was still at it but quite a nice backdrop. Chilham is a charming little village, not much to do but lovely for a little stroll. Most places are on a slope so I overhung the grass patch near the entrance in my 7m. Didn’t notice any road noise overnight other than the fire engine coming into the car park and slamming around at circa midnight.
Arrived around midnight, one other van parked up. Owl was nearby hooting but otherwise very peaceful nights sleep. Toilets open at 8am and close 7pm April to September and close 4pm October to March.
Der Platz ist wirklich weiter zu empfehlen. Allerdings gibt es nur eine schlechte Mobilfunk Internetverbindung. Ansonsten top
Really nice spot to stay at before getting the ferry. Try and park a bit back from the road as you will catch headlights otherwise. Lovely walk and village nearby, wouldn’t park anywhere else for ferry
Stayed last night was very quiet only 1 other camper, lots of space to choose from. Toilet was open all night as well just need to push hard on the doors. I could recommend
Haben hier eine Nacht geschlafen. Sehr ruhig, viel Platz. Die Toiletten waren verschlossen. Mülleimer sind vorhanden. Gute Wege zum Wandern und kleiner Pub in der Nähe.
Chouette grand parking entouré d'arbres. On entend la route mais ce n'est pas dérangeant. Toilettes hommes fermées. On y a dormi deux nuits et nous avons toujours été en présences d'autres vans ou camping cars. Il y a largement la place.
Haben eine Nacht hier übernachtet. Guter Startpunkt für einen Spaziergang mit Einkehrmöglichkeiten in 5 min Laufnähe. Ab und zu kommen auch Nachts Autos. Toiletten waren durchgängig geöffnet und es gibt Mülleimer. In der Früh ist mehr los.
A pretty village with 2 quaint pubs and several walks nearby. Very sloping car park with no bays for large vans. We hung our 7.5m Moho over the small patch of grass near the entrance. Toilets are clean and open all night (push lightly on the door, it opens. A button inside releases it to come out)The road is busy all night. The fire station may be busy - we were woken a lot in the night.
Toiletten sind schmutzig und stinken. Parkplatz ist groß und bei der Mauer gerade. Hübsches Örtchen nebenan. Würden wieder hier üernachten. Morgens kamen viele Leute um hier eine Wanderung zu starten.
Hi all know this well, free for 24 hours only. Has toilets open till 7pm lovely picnic area with bins. Free at night too but only 24 hrs then move on. I car camp and use weekly there is a fire station that can be loud when the train but very in the country great night stop. No phone signal!!!!!!!
Large car park, easy to find a space at the back. Very minor issues, the car park is on a slight slope and and the phone signal is poor but I can't complain too much as the parking is free. There is a beautiful village two minutes walk away that is worth visiting. I would recommend the pub in the evening and the tea room for breakfast/lunch.

Loads of space, no height barrier, 23hr max stay like it says on the posting. Internet signals showing 1 bar 4g, but still enough to hotspot my roku and browse internet on phone. Nice find!

Très bruyant (pourtant nous y etions un dimanche), en pente quasiment partout. Après, il est situé à proximité de Douvres, avec beaucoup de place, et gratuit : ça fait le job.
Großer Parkplatz, etwas schräger, asphaltierter Untergrund, Toiletten (sind nachts geschlossen) und Mülleimer vorhanden. Recht ruhig in der Nacht. Nah zu einem sehr netten, kleinen, pittoresken Ort. Nach Dover nur eine gute halbe Stunde.
Spent the night here after getting off the ferry, only 30 minutes away and free. Was very quiet, minimal road noise on a Monday night. Toilets were locked when we arrived at 9.30pm, but unlocked at 7am the next morning. Toilet paper, hand soap and toilet seats in all toilets, women's cleaner than men's (as usual). 4G available if you stand near the main road. Pretty sloped but some flatter areas.
Great stopover, free for 23 hours, lovely and peaceful at night and the toilet block was open very early. Can recommend a walk up to the village which is beautiful and the tea room is a great stop for breakfast.

Lovely nights sleep, some road noise but not too bad. The part near the fire station is the most level. Toilets close at 6pm. If you walk up the hill, there’s a beautiful little square with some lovely houses, a pub, tea rooms, church & walk for dogs. Bins available, so use them. Leave no trace.
Schöner Parkplatz um nach der Überfahrt mit der Fähre zu übernachten. Öffentliche Toiletten die in moderatem Zustand sind. bei den Damen besser als bei den Herren. Keine Beleuchtung auf dem Parkplatz dafür aber eine große Fläche auf der auch das übernachten nicht verboten ist. Haben sehr gut geschlafen und wurden durch nichts gestört. Werden den Parkplatz bei Bedarf wieder ansteuern.
Sind erst kurz vor 22 Uhr angekommen. Da standen schon einige WoMo. Sehr ruhig geschlafen. Wir haben uns sehr sicher gefühlt. Werden wieder hier übernachten,wenn wir nach Hause fahren.
Très grand parking, il y a beaucoup de places, parfait pour dormir après la traversée Calais-Douvres, à 25 min de Douvres. Route à côté, pas beaucoup de passage, mais on entend les voitures. Toilettes correctes, et poubelles disponibles. Peu d emplacements plats.
lieu sans vraiment de charme, mais bien quand même : grand, nombreuses places à plat, d'autres seront parfaites avec des cales. on a l'embarras du choix, même un vendredi de juillet. tranquille, oui on entend un léger bruit de la route mais cela ne nous a pas du tout dérangé. un vieux monsieur avec sa vielle caravane sur une remorque semble là à demeure.
Parkplatz bei Canterbury an einer Burg. Es standen noch zwei weitere Camper über Nacht dort. Straße direkt am Parkplatz, die aber nachts so gut wie nicht befahren wird und daher nachts sehr ruhig. Es gibt Mülleimer, schattige Picknick-Bänke und öffentliche Toiletten, die zwar abends um 23 Uhr geschlossen waren, morgens um 5 Uhr allerdings offen.
Nice quiet spot for a stopover. Scenic village a few mins walk away. Toilets open from 08:00(ish) until 21:00 (ish).

overall good night, there is toilets however they shut about 9pm. there is a bin & you get good phone signal. slightly noisy due to being next to the road.

Good for the night. Toilets are very clean. Pub just up the road. Very noisy road close by with lots of traffic but quiets down at night from around 11pm,gets busy again 6am, and didn’t interfere with my sleep. If you’re a light sleeper though you might have a harder time. We were the only ones at night but the place gets busier from 8am on, with lots of cars pulling in and out using the toilets.

I didn't see the view, but nice quiet place. Good cafe/tearoom up the hill to the right as you go out. Pub up there as well, but didn't go in as it was noisy with last chance jubilee crowd. Parkplace is sloping, flattest seem to be by the rubbish/recycling. Phone connection on O2 unusable, so no internet/texts.

Exactly as all the other reviews say, it's a sloped but free park up with daytime toilets but the best thing about this park up is the pub in the square up the road. The White Horse Inn is a lovely proper old school pub with friendly locals and fascinating books on the shelves.
11pm till 6am was quite calm night,but other time the main road is loud.
Fantastic spot. Sloping slightly but what’s that matter? You can’t go wild camping then moan about uneven ground.
Great location, is on a bit of a slope but able to find a fairly flat spot. Lot was empty overnight besides one other van. Will definitely be back!

Très grand parking, un peu en pente, calme le soir. Le village de Chilham est à 2 minutes à pied. Il faut absolument le visiter, c'est superbe.
Tons of space, mostly sloping but also a good amount of flat area. Main road is very close but we found it really quiet overnight. Village 2 minutes walk up the hill. Lovely square, with pub. Toilets in car park are open between 8am and 6pm with automated doors. A good stop for one night. We'll also have a walk from here on the North Downs Way. It seems to be a walkers car park.

Der Platz ist wirklich sehr ruhig und es ist (jetzt im August) auch nichts los. Unweit befindet sich ein hübsches Castle und es gibt auch ein paar Pubs, für Snacks und kühle Drinks im Ort. Bis nach Canterbury sind es ca. 10 Minuten mit dem Auto Leider sind die Toiletten des Parkplatzes ab 18 Uhr abgeschlossen.
Toller Platz, aber etwas abschüssig, sehr ruhig nachts! Sehr saubere Toiletten und ein neuer Picknick Tisch mit Bänken.
