Great stop for free in a little park behind the pub. Only watch out is that in wetter weather it might get boggy down there… but they do seem to be doing some work so perhaps a redevelopment will address that. Definitely pop in for a drink to reward them for their generosity (currently no food due to renovation)

  • 5/5

lovely stay here! new ownership in the pub so the kitchen isn't open yet, but a huge field for parking campers. only a few hook up points right now but they've got plans to install more again.

  • 5/5

Amazing little place, found by chance en route to Scotland. Free to stay without EHU or £10 with it. Lovely little pub, no food but cozy and good service and drinks not overpriced. Place for about 10 mohos next to a little stream.

  • 5/5

Super pub, accueil super sympa , cuisine toujours non fonctionnelle suite au changement de propriétaire . Avons passé une super nuit très calme

  • 4/5

Phoned them from services 2 hours away and they were happy to accommodate, short notice not an issue. Nice pub in a lovely village setting. New owners and they are not operating the kitchen yet presume they’re refurbing. Wasn’t a problem for me as they had told me on phone but they do have local take away menus so you can order food to your van if you wish. Would definitely stop here again.

  • 5/5

Très belle endroit au calme. Toilettes sur place et poubelle. L’emplacement est gratuit, et c’est sympa de participer à ce que sa dure en prenant quelque chose au bar et/ou au restaurant. Un grand merci au propriétaire !

  • 5/5

Lovely place. Very warm welcome and lovely pub.

  • 5/5

A bonus to find a large flat field to stay in. , instead of just a pub car park. Unfortunately the kitchen is closed at the moment, but we enjoyed the cold drinks after a day’s walking at Stowe( 15 minutes’ drive away)

  • 5/5

What a lovely place. Very warm welcome and lovely pub. They will still continue to host campers with new management. Can't recommend enough

  • 5/5

Gorgeous peaceful site. I didn’t need EHU and it wasn’t busy, so the lovely landlady didn’t charge me to stopover. Had a lovey nights sleep. Management is changing from 1st July so dont know if this will arrangement will still be available

  • 5/5

Fantastic place, I wish more pubs were like this. Super friendly and laid back. No charge. Lovely real ale, (Doombar, Otter, London Pride, Tribute and Timothy Taylor's Landlord on hand pump.) Small field that is fairly level and could park around 10 outfits ok. also the carpark has room for another 5 or so vans. Hope it stays this way as there was a sign outside looking for a new landlord.

  • 5/5

Great pub, staff were really friendly. We parked on the grassed area surrounded by a small stream, we didn’t have a hook up so it was free for the night, we just had a few dinks in the bar as they are not doing food at the moment. We’ll be back very soon.

  • 5/5

Stopped here for one night, great place to stay, large flat field next to a stream. Very quiet at night. Free to stay, £10 if EHU needed. Staff were happy for us to buy a few drinks. Highly recommended.

  • 4/5

New landlord Ross was very helpful. No food tonight so I made a donation for his Christmas fund as we don't drink and ate in the van. Nice pub so hope to come back when the food is back on.

  • 4/5

Free overnight car park stay if eat in the pub (or £10 with EHU). New owners are currently stripping the kitchens as part of their big renovation plans. Outside tap for water if you need to fill the kettle. Outside male toilet (for the pub) but open 24/7. Female toilet…inside only. Very quiet - no passing traffic. Very dog-friendly.

  • 5/5

Excellent and good beer will be staying here again for sure

  • 3/5

  • 5/5

Really good place. We parked in the over-flod parking with 5 other campers. The food in the pub is so good og for a very cheep price

  • 5/5

Perfect stopover. Had a meal in the pub. Very friendly, would definitely recommend. We stayed overnight, lovely and quiet.

  • 5/5

Great place to stay! Staff were friendly, they had a toilet that was open overnight, we stayed on a Tuesday so no food but we did have a couple of drinks. We just turned up but staff do recommend booking. Would definitely return :)

  • 5/5

stopped here for 3 nights last week between rock n roll events , but due to health issues, I ended up in Oxford hospital for 5 days. The partner stayed in the motorhome, the staff were absolutely brilliant, never bothering her to move and checking she was ok ,even when i got back they still didn't change us any where near what the extended stay should have cost ,wish i could give 20 star review

  • 5/5

Great little stopover, lovely small pub, restaurant is small so would recommend booking. Food is classic old school pub grub.

  • 5/5

Stopped overnight on 7 May. Friendly welcome and very pleasant surroundings. No pub food that night, but a Thai Food Van was cooking up delicious meals.

  • 5/5

Stopped here last night. Nice flat field to park on and quiet. Had a lovely meal in the pub. Staff are all friendly and helpful and they have a good selection of Ale's and all prices are very reasonable. Best to phone ahead of arrival to book a table

  • 5/5

great, we rocked up on a Monday. shame there was no food, however we were welcomed, went to the pub. the field is great and flat field. thank you for the stop over. would highly recommend, and dog friendly.

  • 5/5

absolutely fantastic. great pub with good food, great site, and outside toilets if needed at night Phill the landlord is very helpful

  • 5/5

We had a great night here last night. Flat parking with optional EHU for £10, vital as we are low on gas. We had a super meal with very tasty beer, our host was super friendly. We can highly recommend. Of interest in the summer when there is racing at silverstone, they have parking on their field and there is a shuttle bus to the race track from the nearby airfield. Call to book is a good idea

  • 4/5

Very good food; however no food available from 3pm on Sunday and pub closed Mondays and Tuesdays

  • 5/5

great stop over , camper friendly pub , got a drink , snack , steak chips and dessert for under £20 and a park up for the night !

  • 5/5

what a great place. friendly landlord and staff It's a lovely place to stay will be back again.

  • 5/5

One of the best stopovers we have had. Very friendly bar owner/manager, lovely grass pitch, authentic pub with old world charm. It was Monday evening so no food available (pizza to takeaway or eat in the bar was an option) but we cooked our own and just had a few drinks. An unexpected highlight was a group of folk musicians who were having a gathering that weekend and were playing in the bar. Highly recommended!

  • 5/5

Perfect stop over for motorhomes, no caravans allowed. large grass area, 4 EHU on request if not already taken. We dropped in on way back from the IoW. Good real ale and a lovely warm welcome.

  • 5/5

Great stopover! Grass area felt like a proper camp site. Very relaxed. I had the steak pie for £9.50 and a couple of pints of Kronenbourg. Very nice, would return.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Stopped for an overnight on our way down South. Rang ahead. Made very welcome. Undulating field at the back of pub, plenty of space for big vans and campers. We didn't use hook up. Gents external loo open all night. Some long stayers there too. Beautiful, quiet spot. All that is asked is you use the pub which we were happy to do after a long drive. (EHU may cost more of course)

  • 5/5

Perfect little pub. You need to phone in and book. Bar area quite small, but tables outside if dry. Very helpful staff, would return.

  • 5/5

Lovely friendly pub with great food and plenty of room to park. Free parking for a drink. Parking in the field or carpark some EHU

  • 5/5

Stayed the night on our way to Oxford. No charge just had a few drinks. Lovely little pub with outside toilet too

  • 5/5

nice country pub with field at side. Plenty of space for motorhomes. Pint of larder £3.90(cheap) Nice friendly owner and good food served. Pay a small fee or eat and drink in pub.

  • 5/5

Kind owners. Amazing pizza and beer. Peace and quiet. I recommend staying and enjoying the stay.

  • 5/5

Great welcome! Beautiful field ! Fantastic ! Off to have a beer!

  • 5/5

A very nice & clean pub, a live group playing Irish instruments was active when I arrived. Good cider, friendly owner and staff, nice field, power available at £10 per day. No charge for site, one should purchase some drinks in the Pub. So one cider at £3.95 plus £10 power works out quite cheaply. I will definitely return to this location.

  • 5/5

If you're following a sat nav with less than a mile to go, don't turn right into a no through road/ small lane..... just carry on along the road and the pub is on the left. As a lone traveller, Phil and his staff made me feel very welcome. The food and drink are very reasonably priced and the parking area is perfect with plenty of space.

  • 5/5

An excellent spot for the night. The pub served us a pint and the best pizzas I have ever had, before a comfortable and quiet night. Very friendly and helpful. Ring first to book in as they get busy.

  • 5/5

Gutes Essen und sehr netter Gastgeber. Der Platz ist einfach aber kinderfreundlich. Sind hier mit einem LKW gestanden. Wenn es voll ist , stehen die letzten relativ schräg.

  • 5/5

I stayed here overnight on the way to Silverstone and what a lovely place it is. excellent grassed area to park, delightful pub in Cotswold stone with choice of quality real ales and excellent food. the landlord was extremely welcoming and the whole stay made the weekend worthwhile.

  • 4/5

Lovely grass area to park, careful if very wet. We had a couple of beers each and stayed over night with no problems but the 4G is terrible in the area

  • 5/5

What a great place to stay Phil the landlord and all the staff very welcoming we had a couple of drinks and a meal very nice well recommended definitely stay here again and no charge for the night as we had drinks and a meal. Cheers Stratton Arms.

  • 5/5

A pleasure to stay here for the night! A warm welcome with plenty of space. Small and cosy pub with amazing pizzas served even though the kitchen was closed. Amazing owners and staff. We will definitely visit again! Thanks for a great night. Tom.

  • 5/5

Call in advance if you need electric hook up, but tons of space down in the field out back if you don't need. Food (served from 6pm) and drink top tier. Fantastic staff and really friendly locals. Great example of a pub stop over.

  • 5/5

A great pub park up. We had a great time in the pub having a drink with Phill the landlord and some of the customers. Get there early and try to park in the upper carpark which has hard standing, the field can get muddy and slippery when it's been raining.

  • 1/5

If you work on the HS2 avoid this place.. Lovely pub, lovely beer however in general chit chat mentioned working locally and was ambushed by drunken anti HS2 protesters

  • 5/5

We stayed overnight on 4th September and were made very welcome by staff and locals. enjoyed an excellent meal and a couple of drinks at very reasonable price

  • 5/5

Stayed about a month back and were made most welcome. Gents toilet open all night and when landlord realised why I was escorting wife up to toilets he went out of his way to open pub for ladies toilet. Good food night before and went to antiques centre after stay so good weekend all round.

  • 4/5

Nice location next to stream. good location reasonably price food and drinks. Popular with locals so could be noisy at weekends. free to stay if drinking/eating. Will visit again. good service from landlord and staff.

  • 5/5

Very friendly landlord as well as the locals.

  • 5/5

The landlord came out was so friendly, great beer food smelled really good , will stay here again lovely area , very welcoming

  • 5/5

What a wonderful place to park up,great landlord and landlady, great beers, you will not be disappointed.will certainly us again.

  • 5/5

Great place to stay, spent one night here plenty of home, staff are great so is the beer.

  • 5/5

Great stop off, they have done a great job to make everyone Covid safe, we would recommend supporting this friendly owner.

  • 5/5

Wonderful spot. The owner was friendly and helpful. Will likely return.

  • 5/5

Lovely pub, lovely people. Will definitely use this one again

  • 5/5

Came again for our 2nd visit.. called a day before to ask for a spot but Forgot to book a table. the landlord managed to fit us in.. very good value food. Great overnight night spot. This will be our regular stay when going down to see family, as everyone is so friendly. Water and toilet available..

  • 4/5

Very welcoming. EHU £5 per night. Stayed one night. Reasonable pub food. Telephoned ahead to prebook.

  • 4/5

Stayed here one night. owner very helpful. happy if you just buy a drink. meal optional. told me that they might make hard standings with hook-up at some time , thank you landlord for being so helpful. longer Van's will have to get into carpark if pub is on the left. room to turn in the village. a good quite night sleep.

  • 5/5

Had a fabulous 1 night stay over in the back field, of this pub. It has hard standing too. Landlord is very friendly and doesn’t mind you getting your table and chairs out. We had a few drinks in the pub, but the food looked lovely. Very quiet too.. We will definitely go back.

  • 5/5

Lovely parkup. Stayed for one night. We have a large converted van which is about 7m long. Was quite busy with several motor homes on site so may be best to ring the pub before hand. You can pay for electric which is £4, we didn't, but we bought some food and pints in the pub. Nice traditional pub, locals there were very friendly and owners were welcoming. Will go back for sure !

  • 5/5

Lovely Village Pub. The Landlord could not have been more helpful we have a 7.8m Motorhome and he arranged for a couple of cars to move so we could Park. Great Selection of Beer and although the Kitchen was closed they still Cooked some amazing Pizzas. Quite Nights Sleep after Beer and Pizza.
