Stayed many times in my van. Classic artic lorry layover though so get there before 9pm to secure a place. Quiet and set far back from adjoining main road. Relatively level with a shipping container cafe open from 7am. Portaloo toilet usually locked overnight.

Have car camped here for a few nights while visiting mum in Chesterfield Royal Hospital. Slept well, some road noise but put my ear plugs in & was OK. Some evenings busy with lorries. Portaloo locked but only an 8min drive to Morrisons to use their toilet & buy groceries. Quick & convenient to get into Chesterfeild town centre.
Set off road with great views with a bit of traffic noise. Popular with lorry drivers. Greasy cafe selling breakfasts from 7am. Good night sleep.
Saturday 16th March. cafe was closed. Away from a busy A road not that quiet with traffic noise from 0430 all day until late. Road is on a gradual slope. Bins. Open aspect
Set back from the road so fairly quiet. Lorries, cars and motorhomes/campers parked. Feels safe, with pleasant views.
Not stayed in it, but been past a number of times, and at various times of the day/night. Leaving a review as it might help someone, and I’ve often seen campervans/Mohomes in the lay-by nestled in with the lorries. It’s set back from the road so feels safe. Cafe & toilet also there. Not sure of the opening times though.
Nice view busy with lorries but a good place to sleep safe off the road it’s 1915 and really it’s full.
It is a bit sloping downhill, so more level near the top, but there are no views there. down by the cafe, more sloping but stunning views across the countryside. Seems all ok and will do another review in the morning

We had been meaning to stop for the night here for a while. Although the road is not to far away, the noise from the traffic is barely noticeable. There was already a camper van parked up when we arrived and a couple of lorries but there is plenty of space. The road is getting a little rough now so watch out for some pot holes. We slept until late as there was no disturbance at all. Good place
Road fairly busy and there is a slope to the parking area but it is out of the way and a reasonable stop for the night. Popular with trucks as well as campers/caravans.
Had a good experience here. beautiful views and quiet. two other campers were there when we arrived. cafe and portaloo were closed. we stayed on a Saturday night and slept in on Sunday morning. we didn't have any trouble. small trash can available by the cafe.
Arrived late after a long drive up from the south coast. no other vehicles here. great night view across Chesterfield and Sheffield. Layby set back from main road which seems fairly quiet.
