(KW1 4XR) Wick - 1 Auckengill

A great stop for an overnighter, well away from the main road and room for 4 good sized motorhome as ours is 7 metres and we had enough room to turn round, even with two other campers sharing the car park.

Parking à distance de la rue avec magnifique vue mais victime de son succès. Arrivée successive en plus de notre petit van de 4 motorhomes, rendant l’ambiance du lieu moins magique et étriquée.

Brilliant spot excellent view even though it’s tipping it down well away from the traffic passing by well worth a stop

brilliant little spot just down from John o Groats. lovely little rock bay 40m from car Park with easy access, when the tide is out you can walk around to the next bay also. the Broch was interesting and a good little walk for the dog. amazing views from the van.

small car park with view looking over the cliffs with small beach to take dog for walk before bed, by 7.30pm there was 3 LWB campervans and 1 motorhome and car park was full. would definitely stop here again.

Abbiamo passato una notte tranquilla. Vista stupenda e ben distante dalla strada. Dal parcheggio parte un sentiero sopra le scogliere - ci sono resti di un broch e sotto un vecchio porto. Bello anche per fare una sosta durante il viaggio.

Bellissimo parcheggio isolato, panorama mozzafiato. Zero servizi, di notte abbiamo faticato a dormire per il vento.

fabulous spot. short single track to get there. very busy. at 4pm there were two of us in the lot. by 9pm it was full. we managed to fit our 9.5m expedition vehicle but only because the lots was empty upon arrival. advice for large vehicles: arrive early and don't be in a hurry to go anywhere in the morning!

Super mooi uitzicht. Wees optijd want dit is een gewilde plek! Ongeveer 7 vans kunnen er staan.

Was een fijne plek om te staan. Het was rustig doordat het wat verder van de weg was. We stonden daar met twee andere busjes. Het uitzicht was ontzettend mooi. Je kon er op een bankje van genieten of langst de kust lopen. Er waren zelf een paar mensen die een duik namen in de koude zee. Er zijn geen faciliteiten behalve een prullenbak.

Nice place to park. On a bit of a slope, there were 4 other campers here overnight. Nice costal walk. No toilet facilities

Toller Platz, etwas schräg. Schöner Spazierweg an der Küste. Mülleimer vorhanden, war aber leider randvoll.

Super Aussicht auf Meer und Klippen. Sehr schön um die Gegend zu erkunden. Befestigter Parkplatz aber mit Gefälle, wenn ordentlich geparkt wird ist Platz für 4 Camper.

Arrived to find more vans parked there than there was space for, badly parked and far too close together. Be sure to have a plan B !

Grandiose Aussicht auf Meer und Felsklippen. Zugang zum kleinen Nothafen ( nur für kleine Motorboote) Parkplatz befestigt mit starkem Gefälle. Schöne Wanderwege und absolute Ruhe. Mülltonne vorhanden aber übervoll. 4G Mobilfunkempfang 2 von 4.

A great spot, wonderful views and walks! We arrived late at 19.45 and there were two campers already parked, so plenty of room for us. Decided to stay two nights, the second night there were 7 campers/motorhomes there but respectfully parked so ok. Had another camper slip in next to us but was nearly touching mirrors, so it was agreed that they would move to another space!

Hi all, I stayed here Thursday 16/05/2024. On arrival there were already 3 Camper vans parked. Decided to check with the other camper van owners if they had a problem with an extra one as I was getting tired. Everyone was happy to squeeze me in. I’ve been here before and love the views from this location.:-)

We were joined by one other vehicle overnight. Lovely view of the bay and easy access to the beach. A few walkers in the evening and morning but otherwise not disturbed. Lovely and peaceful spot.

Stunning little spot - wish we could have stayed the night but was too windy!

When we arrived there were three vans already - space for just one more which we took. The view is absolutely amazing! Far enough off the road to be nice and quiet. However, it’s on quite a steep slope and very exposed so the van was being whipped around by the wind all night. Probably wouldn’t come back on that basis, but, still a gorgeous spot.

Great little park up for one night. Slightly slopped terrain but that didn’t bother us. Views are great!

Très joli endroit, petit parking, goudronné, en légère pente, balade intéressante, belle vue, plein d'oiseaux. Aucune interdiction de nuit !

Great little stop for a walk along the cliffs with the most amazing views. Hidden gem!

Nous nous sommes arrêté pour déjeuner et y avons passé tout l'après midi. Le lieu est magique et l'occasion de voir un des fameux Broch qui date de 2000 ans. Une belle pause, parking interdit la nuit.

Arrived around 6pm to lovely views and few other vans parked up however within 15 mins a local farmer came and shouted at us demanding we leave. Found another spot 5 mins down the road and the staff in the local pub said that he is renowned for doing this.

Lovely spot overlooking the sea. Peaceful and not many motor homes / camper vans here. Lovely walk onto the beach / rocky area. Although a good spot for Campervans the warden(local council) does a walk late night and early morning to ensure no one is camping in tents.

Beautiful views. lovely walk on pebbled beach. Sea otters... we stayed on 9th Aug with one other motorhome and 2 campervans, plus one car whom camped in a tent. waste bin provided. very peaceful.

Arrived 8.30pm due to previous comments. 2 other campervans and 4 cars slept for the night. No issues at all. Large bin for rubbish. Beautiful views, nice pebble beach and walk.

Nice Spot with great views, arrived about 1900 but someone come round about 2000 to the 3 campers there and said we couldn't stay overnight, no signs though, we moved to the layby just down the road. Bin still there which we made use of.

Excellent, quiet spot with sea view. Away from the main road but with easy access. One bin. Access to the coast path and down to a little beach.

Stayed here last night for 1 night , only one other van, very peaceful and a beautiful sunrise in the morning!

At around 7:30pm we got a knock on the door from the local ranger asking us if we could move as he didn't want more than 2 vans there taking up all the spaces. As I'd had a drink moving wasn't an option. We reached a compromise and we all squeezed in closer together to create a couple of more spaces. Other than that this is a peaceful little spot.

Great location. View excellent and cute sheep as neighbours. Room for 4 vans. Some dog walkers stop by but otherwise very quiet.

Wow wow wow. what can I say. stunning location. we pulled our camper van next to the bench on the grass area basically on the Cliffe edge to look out onto the view. truly amazing. even with a bit of wind it was super safe. literally one of the best spots thus far

Great spot next to the beach. Take the walk to the broch along the cliff or down to the beach it’s great. Great sunrise views and seascapes.

Great quiet spot near the sea. There is a house at the start of the road leading down to the car park which made me feel quite safe. i was the only car there and was left undisturbed all night.

Sehr schöne Aussicht, gut erreichbar und trotzdem ruhig. Der Bauer benötigt ggf Platz um mit seinem Trecker auf die Wiese zu fahren. Dadurch passen eventuell nicht mehrere große Camper nebeneinander.

Great view a Ross the sea, quiet, has a bin, handy for road, nice walk along cliff and down onto rocks.

No good place. local crazy man shout at us and we leave very scared...

Truly a lovely spot. Natural beauty in a designated gravel parking area 100m from the road. Seemingly with historic buildings dating back 3000 years. potentially one of the most important historic sites in Scotland if not Britain. lovely beach and flat rocks to lay on.
