We have stayed here a few times. It was the busiest we’ve ever seen it, with the nearby camping field appearing packed. However it was very quiet overnight. Almost zero internet/mobile signal (O2 & 3). Didn’t use facilities as self sufficient. £30 per night, 2 adults with ehu. In the UK that is about the norm. Very happy to stay again.
A most beautifull drive way to the Castle and camping! We stayed 3 nights with our minivan, £20 per night, no electricity. the view from the grassfield is really nice but some traffic noise was always around till 22 hrs
Expensive in my opinion. Toilets and showers okay but a little dirty. Quite a bit of road noise late at night. Receptionist was blunt and told us the wrong distance it would take to walk to Castle Howard, but I suppose it’s good within walking distance. Not a bad site but not worth the £26 we paid, have been to far better sites.
Level pitch, clean toilets, warm showers and a pleasant setting. £24 with ehu is reasonable. Used as a stop before going to Flamingo Land the next day.
Emplacements hardstanding corrects et nivellés, arrivée tardive acceptée après arrangement téléphonique, prix très corrects pour la région. Sanitaires modernes mais plutôt sales lors de notre passage, sûrement car beaucoup de monde ce soir-là.
Great site near the lake with the view on the castle. The space for campers/vans/tents are no so big, but the facitities were ok during weekend. We used the strange english washing machine and dryier. Helpfull staff,thank them so much. There is lots of stabile cottages in the other part of the campsite. Payment ONLY cashless.
Small number of pitches alongside a large number of static caravans and holiday homes. Hard and grassy pitches. Toilet block is clean but quite small for the number of pitches. Very quiet except for noisy Jackdaws at sunrise and sunset. Castle Howard is about 2 km walk. If you are camping you can get 2 for one tickets to the castle grounds but not to visit the house.
A very well run campsite. If you arrive out of hours they leave your pitch number on the board. We had booked grass w/o electricity and got hard surface because of muddiness- very kind. one star less because of the clean and grey water situation. It is in the entrance, so blocking all other vehicles. And the grey water flows into a coarse gravel right below the fresh water tap, hygienic?
Great location for Castle Howard, we stayed one night to visit the Castle Howard Christmas event. Great facilities, very clean. Nice hard standing pitch with electricity. Friendly helpful staff. Be aware there are lots of noisy birds early in the morning, so if you are a light sleeper, you might need earplugs!! We paid £20 for one night with electricity. Would return and recommend.
Fantastic site! the facilities were clean and tidy the showers were warm, the surrounding area was beautiful castle Howard is a short 20 minute walk from the site and there are lake walks accessible from the site itself too! All pitches were hard standing from what I could see and all had EHU points we stayed one night and then came back for a second time in the trip because we loved it so much

Nice camping site with some hook up spaces - price seems to vary - it’s also on pitch up - we just rang - good toilet facilities- 2 wash up stands - nice views - lake walking- good for bird lovers- Geese and swabs

Ganz ok, es hat was man braucht und ist günstig. Wir zahlen für einen Kiesplatz inkl. Strom 19£. Die Sanitäranlagen sind jedoch nicht sehr sauber und voller Spinnen und Käfer. Am Tag geht es, in der Nacht würde ich hier nicht auf die Toilette. Das finde ich wichtig zu erwähnen, da viele Angst haben vor Spinnen und Käfer.
Great value at 10 GBP for two people on a non electric grass pitch. Clean hot showers and toilets. Washing machine (4GBP) and dryer (2GBP).
Camping près du lac, avec vue sur le château si l'on se promène au bord du lac, route pittoresque pour y parvenir. au calme, propre et grands emplacements, 18£ la nuit hors saison. vous pouvez arriver après l'heure de fermeture sans problème
Stayed here in October, motorhome, great clean site £15 for pitch (with hookup £18) recommend ! 2for1 castle Howard entrance, pays for your pitch if it’s the castle you came to see !
