Totally understand penny.. it’s a great spot, but Id prefer to think of myself as local to this island so imma just leave in the early morning and with all my mess ✌️
Aire de repos/parking pour la randonnée locale. Bon signal mobile, beaucoup d'espace mais garez-vous face à la route principale car le parking est bien utilisé dans la journée. Aucun signe de sommeil nocturne. C'est sur la route principale alors attendez-vous à du bruit mais c'est assez calme une fois que vous êtes installé pour la nuit.
Lay-by/carpark for local hill walking. Good mobile signal, plenty of space but park facing the main road as carpark is well used in the day. No signs about overnight sleeping. It’s on the main road so expect some noise but it’s quiet enough once you’re settled for the night.
Rastplatz/Parkplatz für lokale Bergwanderungen. Gutes mobiles Signal, viel Platz, aber parken Sie mit Blick auf die Hauptstraße, da der Parkplatz tagsüber gut genutzt wird. Keine Anzeichen von Übernachtung. Es liegt an der Hauptstraße, also erwarten Sie etwas Lärm, aber es ist ruhig genug, wenn Sie sich für die Nacht niedergelassen haben.

As a local with all respect please do not park large vans and motor homes here overnight. It will ban access to one of very few free parking areas in the Lake District with easy access to the fells.
78park4night17/06/2024Good spot, slightly slopped but set well back from the road. The road was very quiet at night but busy during the day. Perfect for arriving in the lakes late at night, looking for a quick place to sleep. We have a large van and easily parked. Phone signal good. During the day there are toilets a short walk along the wood path to Dodds main car park where there is also a good cafe.

Great location to get some rest before tackling Dodd wood and Dodd Fell. Phone signal is excellent. However, it is a lay-by near a busy road. Once we were settled for the night we hardly noticed the cars passing. We had the place to ourselves, however it quickly filled up in the morning.
