A really good stop with dogs.. turn in comes up quickly. stopped one night. be mindful of the walkers when parking.. we were in 7m.
Petite aire de repos juste à côté de la route principale, donc pas bruyante la nuit. Assez plate. Espace pour accueillir 3 à 5 voitures/fourgonnettes. Les voitures arrivaient le matin pour faire des promenades. Nous sommes allés jusqu'à Skiddaw à partir d'ici.
Little lay-by that’s just off main road so not noisy at night. Fairly level. Space to fit 3-5 cars/vans. Cars turned up in the morning to go for walks. We went up skiddaw from here.
Kleiner Parkplatz direkt an der Hauptstraße, also nachts nicht laut. Ziemlich eben. Platz für 3-5 Autos/Transporter. Autos kamen morgens, um spazieren zu gehen. Von hier aus sind wir den Skiddaw hinaufgefahren.
Pequeño lugar de descanso que está justo al lado de la carretera principal, por lo que no es ruidoso por la noche. Bastante nivelado. Espacio para que entren entre 3 y 5 autos o camionetas. Los autos aparecían por la mañana para salir a caminar. Desde aquí subimos por Skiddaw.
Piccola piazzola di sosta appena fuori dalla strada principale, quindi non rumorosa di notte. Abbastanza pianeggiante. Spazio per 3-5 auto/furgoni. Le auto sono arrivate la mattina per fare delle passeggiate. Siamo saliti su Skiddaw da qui.
Kleine parkeerplaats die net van de hoofdweg af ligt, dus 's nachts niet lawaaierig. Redelijk vlak. Ruimte voor 3-5 auto's/busjes. 's Ochtends kwamen er auto's om te wandelen. Wij gingen vanaf hier de skiddaw op.

As a local with all respect please do not park large vans and motor homes here overnight. It will ban access to one of very few free parking areas in the Lake District with easy access to the fells.
Newtonrific09/01/2025Stopped for lunch and a walk. Was quiet enough even during the day (although it was -5 and snowy outside, so probably less traffic than usual). Sure it'd be a good spot for the night!

therigler30/12/2024Same as the other places on this stretch of road. Ideal for hiking, Dodds wood and Skiddaw. Obviously busy during the day with folk parking for hiking. We stayed on a Saturday night and wasn't disturbed by traffic. Great place to start a walk in the morning. There's a barrier for vehicle access to the would so park responsibly and courteosly for room for others and locals

it was off the main road and fairly flat. traffic was consistent till about 10pm with a lot of motorbikes. After that it quietened down. was woken at 4.40am with a camper and car. then from 7am there were dog walkers turning up and banging car doors. would not stay again

No sign saying you cant stay overnight. Quiet place and beautiful views!

Beautiful view of the lake and mountains too. Very quiet area set back slightly from the road
