Le parking de Snab Point est situé juste à côté de la route principale menant à la réserve naturelle. Superbe vue sur le château. Très peu de bruit de circulation la nuit, mais exposé au vent, il peut y avoir un peu de bruit la nuit !

Snab Point car park just off the main road leading to the nature reserve. Great views of the castle. Very little road noise at night but exposed to the wind so a bit of rock and roll at night!

Great spot at snab point , lots of space and can see the castle from here. You can get to the beach for a walk and through the field before the nature reserve. The nature reserve doesn’t allow dogs but they have a nice visitors centre where you can grab a coffee and lots of info and see the seals on webcam footage. Couldn’t get over to the castle this time of year as too muddy!

Wasn’t for us and we went back to Biggar Bank. uneven potholed road surface and felt exposed

  • 5/5

Don’t rely on the Postcode in your satnav it will take you to the nature reserve car park and the notice on the approach road says gates are locked at 5.00.pm. The car park you want is on your left before you get to the caravan park. Seems like a great spot for overnight.

Stayed the night, really quiet. Another van arrived about 9pm. Good 4/5g signal and TV signal too. Lovely evening sky's and a nice sunrise.

  • 5/5

Lovely site, secluded. When we arrived there was a couple of cars but once people started coming back from walks or the castle we were the only van there. Nice views out to sea and the castle.

Geparkeerd om te gaan wandelen. Leuke plaats, niet overnacht

  • 5/5

Very quiet isolated spot no services although large skip for rubbish was on site when I stopped if you like being out the way this is the one for you just me and another unit the night I stopped , if your into bird watching this would be a great spot for you good phone signal on EE

  • 5/5

Lovely quiet spot with plenty of space and fantastic views over to Piel Island, although it can be quite windy! There are public toilets at the other end of Walney Island, 10 mins drive away.

  • 4/5

Visited this spot on 31/05/2024 just to have a look see, had a brew whilst looking out to Piel island, spot seemed fine for a park up overnight no signs to say otherwise some flattish spots and its nice and clean now, so let’s keep it that way, only negative is if you have low ground clearance go in and out of the southern end of the lay-by as the other end has a few good sized pot holes.

We had a quiet night. You can see the castle but can't really get to it. At the end of the road, there's Nature Reserve, NO dogs allowed

  • 5/5

    Beautiful spot. Rubbish collected again

  • 5/5

Large, flat gravel car park. Great views towards Piel castle. There was a little litter around so I did a ten minute litter pick, to help keen this place tidy and open to overnight stays. We were there on bank holiday Saturday night and were alone. Lovely and quiet. No facilities at all.

  • 3/5

Nice little location some rubbish left by a campervan that was leaving as I pulled up now on my second night here. nice little pub close by no toilets and the bin is locked.

  • 4/5

A great spot for the night near Barrow. Good views over to Piel castle. Road quiet through the night. 5G on EE so great if you need internet. Only 4 stars as there was rubbish everywhere, one hedge is completely filled with rusted cans. We did some litter picking as our van was surrounded with discarded kitchen roll and plastic food packaging.

Great night stay. No one around. Its right out the way. Great for a bit of bird watching in the morning

  • 5/5

I live very local, stayed here in may. Great spot with flat ground, brilliant views of Piel Island & can get a good sunrise/sunset, plus not far from South Walney Nature reserve (visit to see the seals). This spot is quite popular now, and with no bins people do leave their rubbish, I cleaned up the night I stayed! Good phone signal. Plenty of space and is easy to drive in & out.

Parked up, ate and left. The lay-by has been fly tipped. The bushes were dotted with empty beer cans. There were a couple of other vans parked. One with four camping chairs out. So, it clearly will suit some, but the overall feel wasn’t a safe one.

Stopped here last night, drove past all the spots on walney think this is prob the best. Bit more shelter perhaps with not facing out to sea and nice views. Farmer/caravan site owner drove around a few times on the night and in the morning, I’d say he’s checking for litter and camp fires so keep that in mind.

    Great spot, quiet and flat

  • 5/5

great secluded parkup very scenic..had to do a litter pick though...great for a couple of nights...4g signal on Three.

  • 5/5

Peaceful two nights, nice scenery, good stop over, would stay again for sure.

  • 5/5

    peaceful night sleep, felt safe

  • 5/5

Long narrowing road to the stopover on the left (how did they get the mobile homes to the site further down the road?). Very quiet peaceful night. Beautiful sunset and gloriously dark night sky.

  • 5/5

Fantastic spot. Got here around 3pm and set up camp. Had a lovely evening watching the tide go out and the sun setting. Simply beautiful. Well suited for large Motorhome’s, drive in drive out entry exits and plenty of room to find the perfect spot :0)

  • 5/5

2 nights of peaceful rest. a bit windy but expected. friendly fishermen who go to the island opposite. if you get to the caravan site you've missed it, look for the big diamond shape gas pipe sign. signal a bit hit and miss. we'd use it again. no litter when we were there but a few pot holes. water and LPG at morrisons nearby.

  • 5/5

Very very quite relaxed night. Loads of birds to watch and boats. Plenty of space, take the second entrance as first one gets a bit flooded

  • 5/5

Incredible views and lots of birds at all times of the day. Quiet spot where we spent a couple nights. Unfortunately there's evidence of people littering and lighting fires. The sort of spot that will probably become restricted if this behaviour continues.

  • 5/5

The sureal eligance of sleeping in a SSSI with a view of the submarine base tickled me. Absolutely glorious. Blessings

  • 5/5

View is excellent very quiet .went past it at first and ended up at the nature reserve..back tracked and found it no trouble

  • 5/5

Stayed 2 nights. very peaceful, fantastic views. would definitely stay again. no problems parking there.

  • 5/5

Lovely view over the bay to the lakes, no passing traffic after dark although gap to road is good and its a dead end anyway so its very minimal

  • 5/5

Nice view 1 other van dweller pulled up, no one bothered us, large deep puddle at one end when wet on entry to park spot other entry has minor potholes (better choice) grass and gravel area, exposed to wind but worth(only drawback was viewing what I think was power plant)
