Public parking at the entrance to Girvan, well signposted from the A77, with superb views of the bay. Very quiet at night even if the road does not go far. On site big trash and WC (closed in winter). pedestrian walk (lit at night by small solar lamps!) To go to the city along the sea.

OK for overnight. walk into town along path Road noise

  • 3/5

Good park up just off busy road,, used by truckers as a pit stop so quite noisy with late arrivals ans early leavers

  • 5/5

Carpark was full of campers of all sizes. There are paid toilets and a kiosk. On our night it did get quite windy. Great view to wake up to.

  • 5/5

Great toilet facilities. Pay per use. Clean with hot water. The toilets close at night but there is a 24 hour pay meter for the disabled and unisex facilities on the same side as the male. Lovely park up with a good stretch of beach. Road noise is extremely loud 24/7. Dog friendly beach. Bins provided. Highly recommended if you are catching the ferry. Thank you to the community for this service.

  • 5/5

Stayed 1x night, early Sept. Very busy, lots of moho's. Walked in to Girvan, busy, nice port area. Road noise but sea views make up for it. Toilets 50p card entry. Cafe has great food at excellent value. Our 7m Moho has a LWB so stuck out a little despite backing up to kerbs. Very busy with day traffic, cafe customers and dog walkers. Litter bins available. All felt safe and secure.

  • 5/5

Free parkup on the beach with really nice views. Food truck and toilets. You can walk along the beach into town. Only downside is the road noise.

  • 3/5

Dommage car belle vue...

  • 3/5

nice park up with great sea view. There are a lot of vehicles coming and going day and night which spoil the experience.

  • 3/5

Nice stop for a night when coming off the ferry, right at the beach, but quite noisy. Parked lorries come late and leave as early as 5am. Significant road movements.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Fantastic after arriving on a late night ferry. Carpark was full of campers of all sizes. There are paid toilets and a kiosk. On our night it did get quite windy. Great view to wake up to.

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Très beau endroit. Pour une nuit, calme et belle vue

  • 4/5

As we are 6m we decided to park in the lorry area . No problems but overnighting lorries leave early in the morning. Great view of Ailsa Craig . It’s a nice walk into the town . The aire here was only populated with M/Hs and issues but we decided to save our money and stay out of town.

  • 4/5

Spaces are normal car size, but you can hang the rear of a Motorhome over the grassy area. Peaceful night. Lovely place to sit and watch the sun set.

  • 3/5

Basic no frills and nothing special. Okay if your needing a quick stopover. Stay here rather than the other location near the harbour out of the two. It free as of May 2025

  • 4/5

Totally free and if you don’t mind busy and some noise it’s fine. Awesome views and toilets that cost 50p.

  • 3/5

I’m sure a lovely place when the sun is out and no wind. Didn’t have that. Very exposed even with other vans around. Not a good night’s sleep. Some road noise but not bothersome. Nice location. No toilets due to ongoing work. Highly recommend elsewhere in high winds like last night.

  • 4/5

4 stars because we couldn’t hear the traffic because of the howling wind! Great free stopover with views over Ailsa Craig and the beach. Would definitely stay again portaloos still shut 24/10/24 and still seem to be work still on at the toilet block.

  • 3/5

  • 5/5

What a lovely spot to stop at right by the sea and free! Enjoyed food from David's Snack Bar and a walk along to the harbour. Fitted our 7m on here no problem

  • 5/5

Never lets you down this spot. Waking up to incredible views and a nice walk along the coast.

  • 4/5

Very busy spot! We found a space in the evening but was a bit much in the morning with cars coming and going for their breakfast rolls. A lovely walk into Girvan along the beach, great for dogs. Portaloos but didn't use them so not sure how they were. Great views! Lovely spot just a bit busy in the morning (but it was a sunny Saturday morning!)

  • 2/5

En travaux, je ne suis pas resté. Dommage

  • 3/5

Flat place with no height limited. Three grim and miserable portaloos though

  • 3/5

It's ok. Busy in morning with coach trip stopping. Road noise all night from ferry traffic coming up from Stranraer, but not really loud as you are off the main road, but not that far. Decent stopover/break from driving, but definitely not a destination stop. Snack cabin open on a Sunday, toilets are closed, looks like being refurbished. Graziano's chippy near harbour is highly recommended.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Great site. Duplicate entry to one identified next to it.

  • 5/5

Great little spot to overnight and get breakfast from David snack bar. lovely views of sea and good walks for dogs. It was a nice and quiet night apart from gusts of wind.

  • 5/5

Great little park up. Arrived around 9pm, plenty of other motor homes and campers already set for the night. The best thing is the views in the morning and David’s Snack Bar which serves hot breakfast rolls and coffee!

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Stayed here overnight with no issue, was very busy with a lot of MH and even caravans...didn't use toilets as arrived late and didn't open until 8.30am so we left early and went to some at the other end of Girvan

  • 5/5

good Spot, a Lot of space, for free with a toilet. perfect!

  • 4/5

This spot was just what we needed. It's close to the ferry terminal (Cairnryan), off the road, had toilets, and a walking path into town, where there's a lovely beach. In the morning we had an excellent and inexpensive coffee and bacon butty from David's Snack Bar, which is located in the parking lot.

  • 5/5

Great place to stop quiet with great views. Bin and toilets. Easy walk by the sea into town.

  • 5/5

Great spot to pull in for the night. Right beside beach and toilet facilities available. Chemical toilet also available here.

  • 4/5

spent last night here with 9 other campervans. Nice and quiet great scenery and walk into town. toilets closed over night. lovely breakfast at burger stand

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

great little park up. right on the seafront and close enough to town to walk for supplies. toilets and a snack bar on site.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Fantastic safe and free spot with great food from David’s snacks. Stunning views

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Quiet, flat parkup right next to the beach. Perfect for a walk along the foreshore. Bin and toilet but no other services.

  • 4/5

Parked here overnight. No problems apart from high winds! Lovely view. Toilets and cafe nearby. Good place to stop in good weather. Much better than moho stop in town which costs £10 a night and facilities are non existent

  • 3/5

buona sosta notturna gratuita.

  • 4/5

enjoy while you can. lovely spot BUT way to popular last night there where 17 mohos e complete with builders truck. Dave's cafe is really good but where do his customers park.

  • 5/5

Brilliant night here and David’s snack bar was amazing! We was going to cook breakfast but there was no point, cheap prices, great food! Beautiful views!!!

  • 4/5

Great place to stopover and the takeaway cafe does excellent food highly recommended

  • 4/5

easy to place to park with plenty of bays right on the waterside , awesome to watch the sun go down . Public toilet open till 6.30 , a little bit road traffic noise but nothing to keep you awake, only gripe is some worker from the Ayrshire Council thought it would be a good idea to leave the engine running while he went about his business at 7.30 am but definitely worth a stay

  • 4/5

Good spot, couldn't hear the road unless actively listening for it. Very nice views, clean and with toilets (8:30-18:30 April - September, otherwise 9:00-17:00)

  • 5/5

We parked here during the day and walked into Girvan. Convenient and easy. David’s snack place is a MUST! Very reasonably priced and excellent produce.

  • 4/5

We've stayed here a few times now when passing... not a bad location Toilets. Nice views and fossil beach too for those who love fossils last time we stopped I didn't get a bad night's sleep. but this time it was terrible.. one minute there was a bin lorry emptying bins. the coastguard shining torches for an hour around the car park. lots of traffic noise. so it's hit and miss I think

  • 5/5

We have stopped here a few times now, very handy for the Cairnryan ferry or more generally, with a lovely view. it can be very windy, eg last night! That really does not bother me. no sign of rubbish/rats as suggested by another user, not my experience, I don't need to visit the toilets a bit rough/ready but IT IS FREE. The bacon rolls from the snack bar = very tasty and reasonable ££.

  • 1/5

Depressed and dirty looking pulled in Sunday at 5.30 pm traffic noise from road and saw rat run from beach towards camper vans - hills in background looked nice - walk along seafront into town looked run down - and rubbish lying around - so pulled off

  • 5/5

The view out to sea and Ailsa Craig is amazing. Great place to watch the sunset. Toilets open 8:30am to 6:15pm in the summer months. Really quiet overnight. David's Snack Cabin open early for breakfast too.

  • 5/5

You can’t beat falling asleep to the sound of the sea. Very easy found carpark right on the beach. Very well maintained very clean and tidy. A few spaces left for a Tuesday evening. We arrived approx 11pm. As a single parent with 3 with me this is a place I’ll be back to as it feels very safe and well lit.

  • 5/5

Right on the beach and a short walk in to town. Quietens down after 10pm, locals are friendly.

  • 5/5

Parked here as Girvan harbour bays were busy. Good alternative/free stopover with toilets and big bins. Friday night in a heatwave so was very popular with at least 25 other users but still had a quiet night. Easy walk or cycle into town. Snack bar open early for breakfast.

  • 5/5

Sunday night 2other campes google say a 4 min walk to the harbour. I would've said about 15am a slow walker.didnt use the public toilets.road right beside but it did not bother me it was windy the rain also played the bongo's all night but that's all the fun lol. people come and go with there dogs. and there is a snack bar at the entrance to the carpark but I did not use this.

  • 5/5

A great spot with excellent daytime facilities and a wonderful view of Aisla Craig.

  • 3/5

Really busy today close to the road and we didn’t feel like staying

  • 4/5

Can get busy throughout the day, nice clean toilets, bins hadn't been emptied, onside snack stop 8am till 4.30pm

  • 5/5

Great site, quiet and great views!

  • 5/5

    Great stopover. Good beach.

  • 4/5

Stayed here last night and heard the lorry traffic till quite late, but had a good nights sleep. Great views and had breakfast from David's cafe.

  • 5/5

Stayed two nights here. a little road noise but that was all. great place if you have dogs. rubbish bin (please use) nice walk into town. will be back.

  • 4/5

It’s all been said spot on

  • 4/5

Excellent view and right on the beach. lots of road noise was quiet after dark, lots of lorries passing etc but was free

  • 3/5

Fab place right at the sea front. Lots of other motorhomes. Free to park overnight. Toilets open during the day cost 30p. No other facilities.

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

This is a good location but tending to get more popular now. Easy walk to town and a decent hot food counter at the car park. Cracking view and a decent location for road cycling.

  • 5/5

Top spot.

  • 4/5

    Excellent stop over.

  • 5/5

Good spot for a stopover. Great bacon and egg rolls from the wee shop

  • 5/5
