Beautiful, quiet spot for car camping. There were other vans there, but I was able to find a spot that was even for my car. Quite a few spots to park overnight along this road. Please respect the environment and take your rubbish home with you.
Good spot on the lake. Fairly flat park up spots, 4G signal. Super quite road, only a few cyclists and hikers going past.
Really good spot with view on the lake. Felt very safe. With us just one other van standing there at night. Almost no traffic and a good starting point for some beautiful hikes. Please be respectful of the residents close by and leave no trace.

Great little spot. Views aren't as great at some of the others on this road, but it's a little more off the road and sheltered from the wind.

Awesome quiet spot at the foot of Catbells overlooking Derwernt water. Space for a couple of camper vans, felt safe in a little community. Slightly uneven ground - the space is in a long lay by on the edge of the road. Stunning views when we got up, with a trail close by to take you to the derwent water shore for a morning dip :) vanBrockin x
Stayed for one night(Saturday) nice and quiet from 8pm onwards. Woke up to 6/7 other campers so plenty of space.
Nice little spot with excellent phone coverage. Stayed one night, nice and quiet. Jetty 10 min walk with access to the Derwent Water ferry (£12.50 return ticket to Keswick)
Nice easy park up, plenty of room so often seems to have space. Quiet road overnight. No issues at all and felt safe as a solo female camper.
Great spot close to the lake
Visited yesterday. Spent one night only van there. Small side road at edge of cliff. Very quiet road during the night only a few cars/vans from around 7pm-630am when we left. We arrived at around 3pm in the afternoon and quite a lot of walkers/bikers but not too much noise. Managed to get the end spot with a lovely view. Moved further forward during the evening when everyone had left just to be more level. Still a little bit of a tilt though. Really lovely spot and will visit again. Short 10/15 minute walk (wet and rocky but not hard at all) down to a little rocky beach with beautiful view of the lake.

Similarly to other comments quite a few nicer stops closer to the lake along the road, but all full. This one has a short walk down a well trodden path to a nice quiet lakeside spot. About 4 vans here, fairly big campers fit here as well. Flat enough for pleasant night and quiet enough even being on the road

Great place to stop, quiet at night, a few cars morning and evening. slightly sloping, but one or 2 almost flat bits.
better of the options for a shorter stretch especially for overnight. Keep going about 1 mile for a better view.
Peaceful, remote spot with surprisingly good internet reception on the 3 network. There are a few small places further north up this road with clearer views of the lake, but they were all full. There's a path leading down to the lake shore in less than 10 minutes walk, but it was a bit muddy in places. There's another path down from a bit further north which is drier, it takes nearer 20 minutes.
Sehr guter Platz für eine Nacht, wenig Verkehr, weil es ziemlich am Ende der Strasse ist, davor ist schon mehr los. Platz ist eben.
Schöner Platz, erstaunlich ruhig. Die Wanderer kommen meist am Nachmittag, danach ist Ruhe. Etwas uneben aber gut machbar.

Beautiful view of the lake to wake up to and a nice walk down to a quiet bay, even on a weekend. Narrow roads to get here with some sharp turns, but still managed with a 7.5m motorhome. The wind was a bit concerning hitting us from the side as no shelter, and a bit of a drop on the other side, but was absolutely fine.
Lovely little lay-by suitable for up to 3-4 vans. No issues with anything. Can get a little cold and icy but perfect location. Our first location to ever sleep in a van. Right next to a beautiful lake with trails. Not much traffic on a evening a little more traffic early morning. Drive carful as theres some sketchy drop offs on the edge of the road.
Me and my girlfriend loves this spot. Great walk to the lake.
A short walk down the rock path on the left hand side takes you to Abbott's Bay. Perfect for SUP

Not great, right on edge. In a medium wheelbase van feels very tight especially with a side steeply coming down on one side. Path to the lake not clear - moved on before even staying the night. No laybays on this road are suitable for staying the night.
First time using this app! You can park at various points along this road, with amazing views up the side of Catbells and across Derwent water. No issues with noise and very few cars passing. Full signal (Vodafone) and 4G. Lovely walk down from the road to the lakes edge. Would highly recommend :)

Stayed for 2 nights. no problems at all day or night. Best get here early or late on busy tourist days. The roads approaching are narrow and lots of bends so take care, there is also a single lane bridge if approached from South. We drive a long wheel base ford transit Luton conversion. Parking can also be unlevel. Brilliant park up but no facilities or bins so make sure you take it with you :)
