Sorry folks. I've just been spoken to by the rangers. A sign will go up soon prohibiting overnight parking. This is due to antisocial van and motorhome campers dumping rubbish and behaving badly.

PansVan14/09/2025car park has very limited views, but short walk up the dam wall to the water view shown in main pic. road in is a very tight, pot-holed, cobble track - pray for your suspension. 4bars of 5g on ee

Very rough cobbled road upto it, arrived at 23:00 on a Wednesday night, completely empty, absolutely pitch black dark middle of nowhere so it won't be some people's preference as a little daunting. I moved on to another one close by just off the main road at the side of a canal more in town at OL15 0HA Littleborough,Canal Street Would be perfect in the day/morning few picnic benches etc.

I've stopped here a few times now but the ranger asked me to stop coming as it was getting out of hand with too many vans visiting Fine during the day but no overnight

This is my local area and I’ve never heard of any break ins like someone reviewed , peaceful gorgeous location , park with respect and clean up after yourselves and you will have a great stay ,

Stopped here to break up a journey, peaceful night. Few dog walkers in the morning. Definitely stay again

Good place for a stop over on route 10 minutes off M62. Quiet night mid week stop. A couple of vehicles arrived late evening but was OK and few early morning dog walkers. Nice place to walk our dog in the morning. Road up is cobbled but ok if taken slowly. This is a park up only, no services.

Very peaceful location , quiet car park under the shadow of the reservoir. Great place for a walk around the reservoir, popular as ever with dog walkers . Five minute walk to ‘the Globe’ pub.

Be careful leaving your vehicle alone here! We had a bad experience (broken in) and have heard of others too.
