Great Park up very safe good for walking the the old railway line to woodhead or Pennistone

Spudfire07/04/2026Perfect. Car park is free 24/7. I stopped Easter Sunday and there was one van already there when I arrived and another turned up later on. Uninterrupted night, cars started turning up around 7-8AM. Spaces are quite big, fine for campervans but might be too small for motorhomes, although they'd be fine parking overnight if they left before the car park fills in the morning.

Big empty car park. Perfect for over night stays. No over night stopping signs. Lovely walk too!
Bob10016/04/2025Dunford Bridge Car Park Windle Edge 42 spaces on the Trans Pennine Way Bus stop with Bin on site. Quite, no restrictions. Slightly sloped but not excessively.

Lovely quiet carpark in a pretty setting. With a great little swim spot just a minute away on the foot path. I'd advise checking your phone coverage. Mine (EE) was very intermittent, with times that I couldn't make calls or text at all. Maybe not ideal for solo/nervous campers. I thought about knocking a star off for that, but I've had such a sound sleep that it didn't seem right

Busy with walkers and cyclists until 8pm then not a soul until 8am. Great for walkers and dogs. Would stay again.

Think the location is a bit wrong for this one. Appears to be the trans pennine trail car park a stones throw away. No restrictions that I could see. Nice car park with a bus stop and a bin. Quiet little place for the night.

We arrived late, had the carpark to ourselves, lovely flat carpark. we had a lovely peaceful night, the odd car coming down the road now and again. The carpark filled up quite quickly in the morning. Nice walk around the reservoir. would recommend

Had the car park to ourselves all night. Occasional car pulled up and occupants went for a walk on the trail during the day. Very quiet.

Walked down there today from our campsite, think this is the same carpark as the other P next to it as no other car parks on this road.
