Great day time parking for August Bank Holiday 2025 in our T350 camper. She overhangs in a standard car park bay and it can be tricky manoeuvring. Very happy to have found this car park here on p4n. Helped my car park anxiety! and it's free to park here. Had a very pleasant 25 mins walk to castle and a great day out. Thank you to Caerphilly Council for providing the Coed Parc-y-Van car park.
There is now a No Camping, No Overnight Parking and No Fires sign, obviously the facility has been abused, such a shame.
The spot is nice, with a lovely walk around it, but I found it quite uncomfortable at night. Lots of cars coming in and out, parking really close by when there was plenty of room around. It sounded like people were shuffling around behind our van too, so probably a dogging spot. Wouldn't have stayed if I'd been alone as a female.
Quiet, unlit, not busy… but fairly sure it’s a dogging spot as we caught someone watching us through the window whilst we were minding our own business. Moved on as we were very uncomfortable here.. solo F campers be wary
