Lovely quiet car park with plenty of spaces. Easy to pay your £15 at the machine. Toilets at the bottom of the hill and some great boards to tell you which way to look to view the stars!

  • 3/5

a nice quiet night but we did feel a bit ripped off for the price. Like previous reviewers have said, if we'd paid the day rate and the night it would cost as much as a campsite with facilities. Great if you want the cycle and walking trails.

  • 4/5

Car park on a couple of levels, some spots flat, personally I didn’t need chocks on the lower level. Nice spot, gorgeous night sky if clear. Kielder is lovely, some great trails from the car park. Price is now £15 overnight from 9pm to 9am. Hour or day parking must be purchased if arriving before or if leaving after the overnight period. No signal. Some bins but they ask you to take rubbish home.

It's a really nice location for a might, but costs are a bit silly. If for example you arrive at 7pm and leave after 10am the following day, you have to pay £6.50 to park until 9pm, £15 for the night, then £6.50 for parking from 9am the following day. That's £28 to park, with no facilities. Forestry England are being a bit greedy here I think.

  • 5/5

Price has gone up to £15 for the night but still a great little place to stop.

  • 5/5

Really easy to pay by phone for the night / day. £12 overnight. The car park isn’t very level so will need levelling blocks. Quiet & felt safe with other campers. There was about 5 other vans. Everyone had their own space. Lots of walking trails from the car park

  • 5/5

Nice quiet place, £12 a night, if you arrive late enough parking covers you through to following midnight. toilet block (no showers) and pub nearby (2 min walk)

  • 5/5

Saturday 3rd August we spent 2 nights here £12 for over night stay 9pm to 9am toilets are open 24hours and very clean.£5 for all day parking, the burger van out side the castle is great.takes cash and card The car park is quite nice and flat. Lovely walks around and the Forest Drive ticket can be purchased from this car park for £5. o2 network was fine for service and 5G

  • 5/5

Large flat car park areas. Card payment at machine. Clean Toilets close by open 24hr. Fantastic skies with shooting stars visible. No WiFi phone reception, public phone box down in village . But great to be away with cycling and walking from your van door. Local pub was getting refurbished at our visit.

  • 5/5

    card machine, toilets and quiet

  • 5/5

Great stop over. Room for many vans and flat. £12 a night with a machine which accepts cards - this means you can park at other car parks around the lake also. Toilets open all night. We shared the place with another 7 vans and loads of room for another 10/15.

Lovely spot, very quiet, dark skies, very clean toilets and pub a short walk away

Thought a night here on Saturday night was going to be quiet one until a MAN van turned up towing a huge caravan , got his generator out and started shouting , so we left rather late to go else where . Strictly says no caravans . And positive he didn’t even pay .

  • 5/5

Great place to stop lovely and quiet. 3 large flat areas to park up there were 6 other vans when we stayed but plenty of space between us all. £10 9pm to 9am payment by card only. The only disappointment was that you couldn't see the water.

  • 4/5

Nice stop over quiet and peaceful no phone signal here there was free wifi in the pub last time we came but this time the pub was closed overall perfect spot

  • 4/5

lovely big mostly level car park! toilets clean and well maintained I'm not sure if they shut them over night but we're open when I got up at 6.30am. not a 5 star for me as no signal at all but if that's what you prefer it's perfect. I arrived at 4.20pm and got an overnight ticket £10 valid until 9am the next morning.

We stayed here 05/05/23. What a lovely peaceful spot surrounded by the forest. 3 car park areas to chose from (we chose the top area right next to the forest). 2 other campervans stayed overnight but we felt alone due to the size of the car parks. Day visitors were all gone by 7pm. Only noise we heard overnight were the Owls. An amazing experience and well worth £10 for the overnight stay.

Stayed here for an event. Great national park.

  • 5/5

Great place to park, well worth the money.

  • 5/5

Perfect place to explore kielder forest! We were able to buy an overnight ticket from 3.30pm for £10.. in january we were the only people staying for 2 nights in a row!Other kielder forest car parks have signs saying overnight parking suspended,We put the ticket on our dashboard and weren’t bothered at all.24hr toilets available &bins but no other facilities! Take food as there’s a lack of shops!

  • 5/5

A remarkable place to stay, £10 for one night, and there were toilets near the castle, which were open until late, and first thing in the morning. They may well be open all night. The dark skies were extraordinary, and there was a brilliant little pub, which serves low-cost, but very pleasant food for hungry walkers. Huge shout out to the ticket machine, which was the easiest I’ve ever used!

  • 5/5

Great spot, £10 for the night, pay at machine and £5 for all day parking. Unfortunately the main signage hasn’t been updated with closed paths so started to walk several routes only to have to turn back. Will definitely go again and take the bikes.

Stayed here for one night on sunday, was a great park up! Plenty of flat ground it’s £10 for the night, toilets open 24/7, we had food from the stone baked pizza place in the castle which closes at 9pm and it was delicious for £10 a pizza and the staff are super nice, also the pub just below the car park is super cheap and very friendly! 2 drinks for £6! Trails 4 bikes & walks are on your doorstep

  • 4/5

Peaceful night with good toilet facilities. Renovations at the visitor centre but a pizza takeaway is available into the evening. A lot of paths/tracks around the reservoir are closed so check routes before hiking around - but we’ll worth doing.

  • 5/5

Huge level car park, really quiet, pretty walks, good clean toilets and bins. All for a tenner what’s not to love

  • 4/5

Nice and flat. There are lovely clean toilets at the entrance to the car park. There's also a pub very close by but I didn't go in.

  • 5/5

Beautiful, safe parking for overnight stay. convenient that there is a toilet. No phone reception but WiFi if you ask at the pub at the bottom of the hill. Good cycling routes just off of the car park. if arriving before 9pm you need to pay for the day's parking too but after a couple of night properly wild camping, it was a welcomed safe night.

  • 3/5

The only Ticket machines at castle were out of order when we went, but if you get there before 5pm, you can pay for parking with at one ticket buildings next to castle

  • 5/5

£10 for the night (if you stay past 9am) for loads of space and flat parking. Toilets open all night. safe, peaceful night's sleep. Take some bug spray for the midges if you can- they are bad in the evening!

  • 4/5

Nice level parking and toilets open all night. £10 charge from 9pm to 9am. wardens patrolling to check you've paid and definitely heard they are checking around elsewhere and moving people on especially from Elf viewpoint. Midges really bad once the sun went away.

  • 5/5

Great spot for exploring the bike trails. Nice and quiet, few people arriving about 9 next morning but such a large parking spot that it didnt cause any disturbance. Good for viewing the dark sky on a clear night too. Toilets open 24/7
