Lovely pub the Greyhound hotel, wonderful food, allowed to stay overnight if you drink and eat in pub (but ask first!) . No cost. Well worth a stop of, staff are lovely. toilets available in the pub.

This Pub is now closed! We were planning on staying following good reviews- called ahead but went straight to answerphone. I emailed Country Village Inns who replied: "The Pub is now permanently closed and pending sale. I don’t think it will trade as a pub/hotel again. it is no longer part of the Country Village Inns group." We stayed in the carpark (no gate)- no one seemed to mind.
Great stopover for a run to Scotland and back. Friendly staff with a good, reasonably priced menu. Our food was excellent. Good choice of beers too. the car park does have a bit of a slope on one side so would recommend getting here in good time to get one of the more level spots. OK if you have ramps tho. Definitely would recommend, we'll certainly be coming back!
Great place to stop. Food in pub was very good, reasonably priced and very friendly staff. Toilets available until they close them from 8am. Perfectly flat if you can park at the bottom. Quiet overnight but dawn chorus from the birds and quite a few trains from early morning but not too loud
Great stopover on way back from Scotland to London. Had lovely evening meal and breakfast. Staff were very nice & welcoming the lady behind the bar had us laughing with her wit!! Good night's sleep woke up about 0730 hrs. Would definitely recommend.
A real find. Great food and the staff were so welcoming that we booked in for the return leg as well! Come early to get a flat space, otherwise you may need to chock. There is a lay-by almost opposite as backup if the car park is full when you arrive but it is opposite houses so really only to be used in a pinch.
Very friendly welcome. Easy Parking at rear. Excellent food menu very tasty. Literally only 4 mins from motorway and do not let the trains put you off. Would visit again.
Lovely welcoming people! Really good food at the restaurant. I had a meal for 25 pounds with a glass of wine. They also offer breakfast for 11 pounds. But I drove off early in the morning. Trains didn’t bother me too much. Just a few people from the pub leaving in the evening. Would come again!
called ahead to confirm a 1 night stop over on our way home to teesdale ,even pre ordered 2 chicken pies as we turned up 8:20pm (8pm cutoff for food orders i believe)very nice place.. great food and some nice beer on tap !...as said sloping ground but park accordingly and you'll get a good night's sleep ....a little noise from trains but they don't run all night ,thank you owners/staff
Great for an overnight stay. Very warm welcome in the pub and the food was great. lt's a busy hotel and thankfully l got a parking space even though l was the only campervan. lt's on a slight slope but not too bad.
Great pub stop. Great food plenty of room in car pard. Walks for dog
The pub is closed. We went to the car park to see if we could stay there and was confronted by a man who asked if we had booked, he was very aggressive. Husband said the pub was closed so couldn’t phone ahead, the man just stared at him in a menacing way. Husband repeated about not being able to call, but if it was an issue about parking the car park, he would happily leave. We left.
