Pros: it's easy to find, flat with great views. Cons: it's very noisy. Quietened down a bit for a few hours after midnight, but still a few cars. Not a great night's sleep but ok for an emergency stopover

sunchris2329/09/2025Pretty noisy from road. Managed to get level with chocks. Must have been quiet late on as I did manage to sleep, woken a few times. But i couldnt really find anywhere else close to the Reservoir with signal. Fine for a night. Careful coming from east, the laybe has a curb! Not a bad view.
beni200224/08/2025Very narrow single lane lay-by so no good for motorhome, also large kerb if coming from the East. Road very fast and noisy.

Great spot! Views are amazing in the morning over the valley. The road can be quite busy during the night but a great place to stop if you’re a heavy sleeper. Great location and easy to find.

AgriGriff31/07/2024Easy to find and we were the only vehicle there before walkers arrived at 08:00am. Walked to the stream at the bottom of the valley early morning (5 minutes), ideal for cold water dip and gives a great sound track throughout the night. Only drawback was traffic on the road, would be a couple of cars every hour through the night.
kiearniehewitt22/07/2024Fantastic spot, beautiful views! We stayed on Friday and was the only van there. The road is a bit noisy but quiets down from about 9pm onwards. Little river only a short walk away or if you're alittle more adventurous, a beautiful hike up in the hills. Does get busy Saturday and Sunday mornings with hikers. Will definitely be using this spot again.

Awesome little spot, the road is a bit noisy so night as quite wild as I love to be but still great one, in fact we're doing a second night here because we want to do a second hike, great morning veiw from the side side door! Daisy x

Stayed one night, many cars parked with people who had gone off wild camping so was only van. Stunning views. Great walks nearby and felt safe.

Lovely location and within 5 minutes of the river for a morning wash! Only limitation is road noise and proximity, we can’t hear it inside the van however!

Noisy road, only good for a picnic. Nice walk to the stream but exposed to the winds when lorries pass on the road adjacent early morning.
