Rocked up late and missed the actual area where the portaloo is. So we carried onto this car park and weren't disappointed, when we opened the Tentbox to reservoir glistening in the sun.
Parking au réservoir. Pas de camping mais possibilité de se garer la nuit. Une vue imprenable sur le loch St Mary. Très calme.
Parking at the reservoir. No camping but possible to park over night. Amazing views down to St Mary's Loch. Very quiet.
Parken am Stausee. Kein Camping, aber Parken über Nacht möglich. Erstaunliche Ansichten hinunter zu St Mary Loch. Sehr ruhig.

#144402 - TD7 5LQ Megget Damhead Overnight parking allowed. Strictly no ground tents but Tentbox is OK. There is now a £15 charge. All monies raised goes towards looking after this beautiful place. Please keep dogs on a leash as this is a very successful Red Squirrel area. Also sheep & lambs walk freely. No services - Ranger attends everyday. Open All Year Round.

lovely park up for the night,ideal for dog walk also. spoke to a ranger Sunday evening she said free up to end of this month then they're going to start charging £15.00 per night. hope they put a couple of bins in quite a bit of rubbish about..
Linds180818/11/2024Great park up. The ranger came by, really friendly and helpful. Apparently they ask for a £10 donation, £5 in low season, and that you only stay here if fully self contained. Toilets available at Linghope, about 10 mins down the road. Beautiful spot. Please keep it clean, some damage caused by irresponsible campers in the past.
JosCiel28/10/2024Erg mooie plek die ook in het laagseizoen druk bezocht wordt door (overnachtende) campers en andere wandelaars. De wandelroute bij de dam is kort maar erg leuk. Bij de boomrand (rechts als je de parkeerplaats op rijdt, zie laatste foto) sta je lekker beschut wanneer de wind hard waait. Houd deze plek schoon...

Nice flat parking area for campers. 2 people here already when we arrived last night. Right next to the reservoir so great for the dogs. No facilities.

Stayed last night, second van turned up and stayed too. No notice about paying to park. Flat level parking, very darks so ideal for photography, very quiet night.

Stayed for 1 night. Very quiet. Room for a couple of vans. Usual midge. No facilities. Hike up a hill for you and the dog but mind the sheep. Car park closed sign just now but leave it better than you find it will work.
