Great spot. Lots of space. Road very quiet. I think maybe one car passed after 11pm. There's a small wind turbine nearby which makes a little wooshing sound (confused me at first when I arrived in the dark), but I had to strain to hear I once in my van. As others said, lots of rubbish in the bushes. I picked up a whole bin bag full. If two other people did the same it would be clean as a dream!
Just parked up here for the night, seems ok for a stop over, but as said in other reviews, litter every where unfortunately, very level where we are, will do for the night definitely
Beautiful views of the stars on a clear night. Lots of litter around though. I cleaned up what I could - good night sleep though very, very windy!
Large layby off a main road. Farmers fields all round. 4G signal. Level ground small amount of road noise at night. slept well with one other camper at the spot.
Very quiet, brilliant view and walk in the morning. The wind was the only thing that let it down, howling!
Having been there for a couple of hours and settled in I was startled by a car horn at around 9pm. I looked out to see a car having pulled in on an angle pointing his car directly at the side of my van flashing his lights and beeping his horn at me for a good few seconds then he spun around and drove off. if I'd not had a couple of beers I'd have moved on. thankfully they didn't come back.
fone signal not the best. but nice flat service an with it been next to a main road not too busy. we arrived bout 9pm an was quite with od car going past. but worth a stop over
Lay-by currently closed. Large piles of gravelled filling it with heavy plant machinery for road works.
A gravel lay-by off a country road. I stayed on a Sunday night, quite a lot of cars going past until about 8pm and then nothing until commuter time in the morning. It was very windy when I stayed so you can hear the wind turbine others have mentioned but it’s only a low humming sound - not intrusive unless you like silence. Not the best spot I’ve ever stayed but does the job
Great spot and easy to get to nice walk for dogs and very minimal traffic. Wind turbine wasn’t too loud and was easily forgotten about. Could only get 3G but worked well!
Nice quiet spot, bucket loads of room. Hard to get level but nothing major. Good peaceful nights sleep.
*update. Now the wind has picked up the turbine is clunking and you can hear the wind through the blades! I like it but definitely had to mention it ha
Perfect for those lone warriors seeking to be alone for the night! Nice views, certainly not somewhere you would spend the week but when all the good spots are too busy and you prefer to hear the sheep and the birds then this is a very nice spot, you could land a plane so no bother about space. :)
It is just a lay by with litter beer cans probably from other campers, didn't stay long
Great spot. Tarmack layby off a counrty road. Very quite. Ideal for motorhome. No amenities.
