Parking place and views of the lighthouse near the town centre.. Accessible all year round but no facility's it's simply a large carpark.. Bus stop in front of the CO or in front of the public toilets of the Waterfront to go to Bangor, then the train to Belfast (be careful to avoid Sunday, first bus at 11h20 and the last is at 15h30 in Belfast) . can easily accept 200 campers .I know I live 500 metres away .

Great location in a lovely town. All signage prohibiting overnighting has been removed.

Council are on the charge in a number of parking spots around here. Seems they've come up with alot of new rules like cars not allowed to beep their horn or leave engine running. Part of those rules is an exclusion on sleeping in a motorhome or the like between 11pm and 6am. Implementation is outsourced to a 3rd party with office in Sheffield. Go figure ...

For information. I've just stopped at the samuel kelly lifeboat car park. You can No longer park overnight. prohibited signs up by the council. £90 fine. such a pity Ards council are so anti campers lately.

Stayed 2 nights. Large car park lots of space next to harbour. Bin in car park. Some coming and going during the evening and early morning but slept well. Be aware if you park by the sea there is a footpath the other side of the wall and you will hear people talking late evening and early in the morning as they walk along.

A nice park-up especially if you get a front row. Very quiet and handy for the town and pubs/restaurants. About 25 campers overnight.

  • 5/5

A great spot for overnight parking. The town is a short walk away and there are bars, coffee shops etc. A very pleasant town to stroll around. There is a grass are I front of the car park with benches overlooking the sea.

  • 4/5

Great views. Right in town but the park was quiet lots of vans parked up nice pubs and restaurants

  • 3/5

large car park. Not many facilities but close to town centre with lots of nice pubs and restaurants. There is one sign that says no over night camping.

  • 5/5

Great place but note Sat 24th june 2023 the carpark is needed for band parades between 3pm and 10.30pm so no parking between these times please.

  • 4/5

Just out of the activities of the town, quiet and a nice place to walk with toilets at the far end also black and grey water can be disposed off, nice food in local restaurants also a lovely spot for an early morning dip in the sea.

  • 4/5

There are “no overnight parking” signs . There are black and gray water disposal facilities at a parking place just down the road towards Millisle, but sadly they have stopped people overnighting there.

  • 3/5

Unfortunately signs for no overnight parking. No other campervans/motorhomes when I visited so didn't take the chance of being moved on. Pity as it had great views, plenty of picnic benches & clean toilets. Pleasant walk along path into town.
