Black mountain quarry. Stayed here one night very peaceful and loads of room. Car park at a bit of a slope. Has a upper and lower car park I found the upper was more even. The black quarry walk is great takes about 1.5 hours also has few mountains around has amazing views. There are sheep in the area so keep dog on lead. There is a bin at the upper car park unsure about the lower that’s 300m away.

Schwarzer Bergsteinbruch.

Nice surroundings. Relatively level and has some picnic tables.

A few lay-bys along this road, this one an actual car park though. It was busy up until about 11 on a Saturday night both on the road and in and out of the car park, and then from about 7 in the morning with dog walkers. Flat-ish if you find the right spot.

Amazing place to stay, would recommend. There were lots of laybys on this whole road, so if this particular lot is full/not level enough, continue on to the next. They are all a bit exposed but absolutely beautiful. No signs on most of them prohibiting parking or anything. Really really lovely! Just remember to pick up rubbish- there were bags left which was such a shame. No bad reps for campers!!

Quiet at night, but road is quite busy in the day. Rubbish bin was overflowing. Pretty level gravel car park and gorgeous mountain walks in several directions. We were the only van there on a weeknight. Decent 4G signal, ice cream van at the lower car park during the day :)

Non-managed gravel carpark, you’ll get no bother here. Recommend the nearby walks.

We went up to the viewpoint car park first but there were signs saying no overnight parking so we moved up the road to this one-no signs against overnight parking here. The whole car park is sloped but we did manage without leveling blocks. There were a couple of other vans and dog walkers. Good signal and bins.

Absolutely gorgeous. the road up here was twisty but not too steep and a good surface, so it was fine for our small motorhome.

Lots of areas to park here, bit too much traffic...moved on to other locations

Fantastic sunsets and Dawn views. Very exposed chose your weather wisely. The locals enjoy using the road as a race track until sunset then it was quiet until the next morning when they were out again bright and early. Worth it for the views.

We stayed in the Mountiew Road Viewpoint carpark which is the lower of the two but has the best sunset views. Carpark had a fair amount of people driving up to watch the sunset and leaving after so was very quiet through the night. Was great to wake up to all the sheep around the van and the stunning views. Small vans should get level easily but larger vans/RVs may need blocks

Stayed lower carpark- amazing views and sunset. Close to road but mostly quiet overnight. Quite a lot of people pull in at other times though and area is popular with motorbikes/loud cars (because road is a great drive!) Windy and exposed but wasn't an issue for us.

We stayed in the wind and the rain and cloud base came down and engulfed the van, we had no problem with the conditions. The road was quiet after 22:00 and again in the morning just the odd car. Overall if you want to be close to the elements and good scenery or enjoy walking this is a great little spot. Can accommodate MH and CV flat and probably 10 spaces.

    Exposed but very beautiful scenery.
