Great parkup in town, we stayed 2 nights, so handy to shops, bars and restaurants. Laundry is in the town 2 mins walk away. Turn off to parkup is south end of Bank Street at Wisemans Furniture Shop.

Brilliant stop over & a great town with lots of choices for food & drink. There’s even a crepe vendor. For anyone looking for the fresh water tap it’s super hidden, it’s actually behind the wall where the EV charging points are….that should make it easier to find. Wish we had more initiatives like this in UK.

Super endroit pour une nuit, au centre du village mais calme jour et nuit, 6 emplacements délimités. Aucunes commodités hormis une grande poubelle ce qui déjà pas mal en Irlande ! Merci à la commune pour cet espace.

Very nice spot for an overnight stay. Toilets nearby (3 minute walk). No other facilities. “Hag’s Kitchen” (across the road 1 minute) does restaurant quality food at takeaway prices. They will give you a pager to collect your food when it’s ready. (Or you can eat it in Twomey’s Bar). 5 minutes walk to Bere Island Ferry.

okay spot but would rather go elsewhere next time. group of young lads in modified cars use this spot to meet up and act like fools. really bringing the town down to be honest. we moved out of the town where we were planning to spend another night eating and drinking.

Liegt am Wasser, sehr ruhig, im Hafen gibt es Toiletten. Man fühlt sich sicher. Im Ort Supermärkte, mc Carthys Pub und das Restaurant Murphy in dem wir gut gegessen haben. Schön, dass die Gemeinde einen solchen Stellplatz eingerichtet hat.

No problem, came and parked here on three occasions and spaces available. Stayed overnight on one occasion, quiet, safe and convenient. Public toilets nearby were fine.

Great spot - long flat spaces for MHs if cars don’t get there first! Public toilet at harbour pier and water tap too at the far end - see previous comments - it really is camouflaged hahaha. Lovely little town. Wish there were recycling bins handy. Totally recommend.

Quiet parking away from the town centre with pleasant views. Absolutely nothing there , not even a rubbish bin but they are not fat away as is a fresh water tap and a public toilet

Stayed here a few nights, nice quiet well light up spot, nice view out the harbour, close to a nice Chinese and cafes, only downside really is there’s no ehu or toilet, but I’d stay here again.

Mooi aangelegde parkeerplaats. Aantal plaatsen voorbehouden voor campers. Dergelijk initiatief verdient navolging. Jammer dat het dorp verder weinig te bieden heeft. Heel veel pubs, maar ook heel veel gesloten. We zijn niet gebleven voor de nacht.

Great spot and large level pitches. No services but there is a water tap in the port car park. On the white wall at the side of the slipway behind the closed hotel.

What a great little spot! Stopped off here for some lunch, a great place dedicated to motorhomes, and it's free! You can stay up to 48 hours as well. We often look for places to visit so we can spend some time and money in places but can't always get parked up in our motorhome. Felt very welcome here.

Étonnant un parking dédié, aux places bien délimitées, gratuit, au bord de l'eau et aux portes du centre-ville, ça a l'air recent... arrivée à 19h nous sommes 3 pour 8 places je crois...du coup je vais boire un verre et peut-être même un restaurant !!!

Se ha convertido de mis lugares favoritos de Irlanda. Un lugar muy tranquilo y como donde sentirse como en casa. Es un lugar bonito con espacio y en el que te sientes acogido por el pueblo.

Wir hatten einen Platz am Wasser, zentrale Lage, ruhige Nacht. Die Anfahrt durch die Main Street kann unter Umständen durch geparkte Autos ziemlich eng werden.

Lovely quiet spot, we got there early in the day mid July and 2 of the 8 slots were taken. As we are a CamperVan we took a parking space close to the waters edge and went for a few beers and dinner in town. By the time we got back all pitches were taken and a couple of small vans in other parking spaces.

Good spacious parking lot perfect if you want to spend a night out in the town then have your van close by to sleep! Very quiet at night. Excellent idea by the local council

Wat een fijne plek! 6 zeer ruime plekken bij het water, midden in het gezellige dorpje Castletownbere. Pubs, winkels en restaurants allemaal op loopafstand. 's Nachts erg rustig. We stonden er op een zaterdagavond, en toch was het er muisstil 's avonds. Dit soort plekken zouden er meer mogen zijn in Ierland. 5 sterren voor de gemeente! Enige kleine minpuntje, geen faciliteiten.

Freshly paved, level, and tucked away almost in the middle of the village. Two block walk gets you groceries, pubs, restaurants, and pharmacy. 6 dedicated spots for campers, 48 hour maximum. It’s perfect!!

Park up provided by local authority there’s about 4 spaces. We could hear a generator through the night maybe from the port, east walk to the village. No services. Convenient one night stop over!

Great possibility for campers and for the local business. Thanks to the local authority to offer such spaces. That is going to bring money to the town!

Alles bereits gesagt. Viel Platz, danke an die Gemeinde. Sternabzug, weil der Platz die gesamte Nacht hindurch taghell beleuchtet wird. Ich schlief deshalb schlecht.

Absolutely brilliant site, 4 big designated motorhome spaces and a few smaller spaces opposite for VW type vans. nice quiet ( as long as your not parked next to the loudest Irish bloke ever) spaces. easy 3 Min stroll into town and toilets. Great idea from the local council

Thanks to the city for this space! We enjoyed a night out at one of the pubs. Friendly people here. PS the council might want to chase off the cars parked in MH spaces

Parking très bien situé en plein centre-ville. 8 places réservées au camping cars ,bien délimitées au sol. Espace goudronné plat. Mais aucun service et pas de poubelle.C'est l'explication des 4 étoiles et pas 5....

Nous y avons couché le 18/04/2024. Pas beaucoup de monde. c'est tranquille. Les gens qui travaillent vont et viennent vers 6h00. toilettes au port

Stationnement facile et à plat, pas de fréquentation la nuit. Juste le bruit des bateaux de pêche en fond mais peu gênant. Sanitaires proche accessible à pied 100m

Super endroit, merci pour la commune ! A deux pas des commerces et restaurants (je recommande de prendre un fish & chips au Chef’s Table pour le manger au Twomey’s en face, délicieux!)

Great to find designated stop. Large bays and toilets 4 min walk to the harbour. Unfortunately no services on site.

6 dedicated parking spots for RV and campers. Close to shops, pubs and toilets. The parking is well lit at night, very quiet and safe, provided for free by the council to attract tourism. We visited McCartys pub on the main street with out Lab and we were warmly welcomed. The Guinness there was fab too, a perfect pint. Lots of interesting walks in the area and this is a working port too.

Fabulous flat car park which was free. Large designated motorhome spaces. Close to lots of pubs, McCarthys allowed dogs, the pub landlady and staff were very friendly, as were the locals.

A lovely clean and well laid out parking area beside the river. Very quiet and peaceful and right at the edge of the town. Well done Castletown-Bearhaven, it's a pity other towns/villages don't follow your example.

just spent a beautiful relaxing evening here, a small but excellent park up, by the River, some campers here from Wales Holland Belgium and Germany, good conversations and Laughter. a great park up to explore the beautiful Castletownbere...very quiet park up, had good nights sleep. i would highly recommend..enjoy

Great stopover, 6 spaces I think, hardstanding with marked bays, close to restaurants and right on harbour for Bere Island ferry, which is great.

Mooi initiatief van de stad , 6 plaatsen op mooi asfalt gereserveerd voor campers . Mooi zicht op het water en zeer rustig. Mooi om in het stadje te wandelen .

Great free overnight stop, stayed the max 48 hours. Felt safe, quiet at night, flat, lovely view over the water. Took ferry to Bere Island for Parkrun, great experience. Walked down the road to the castle ruins, beautiful place for a picnic. Ate out in the town then had a crêpe from the stall in the market place.

Very nice place spot in the middle of town. Very quiet at night and the toilets only 5 min away. Quite full as well, even out of season!

Quiet at night, surrounded by houses. The lamps are so bright that I didn’t even need my reading light. There were 4 other campers with me. Good internet connection

What a great initiative and location. Designated 48h motor home parking, free, safe, quiet and 2 min walk to local services & loos. Wish more towns would do this. We made sure to spend our money in local shops in return.

Ideal for stopping for the night when passing through. Dedicated motorhome parking spaces. Public toilets not that close, we parked for the evening by the toilets and drove here to sleep!

Lovely spot overlooking the river. Shared carpark but very quiet all the same. Felt safe and 2 other womos here. Max stay is 48hrs! No facilities but there are toilets in the harbour area which is short walk. Some noise from fishing boats, but adds to the experience. Small town with all usual shops, cafes etc. Thursday is market day!

Excellent area if you don't need services (water point and toilets nearby). Well done Cork County Council in providing marked parking spaces for motor homes. 5/5 for not charging, and peace of mind. Nice walks nearby. Ferry to Bere Island. Great cycling area. Town has lots of places to eat.

This is a medium size carpark with parking for about 25 cars over-looking a small bay with 6 dedicated motorhome parking spaces marked in yellow. Maximum stay is 48 hours. The parking is fairly level. Even so we had to use our chocks for the shower drain as we need to have a slight dip at the front. There are no services and no bins. Pros: Free parking. Toilets at the port. Water tap at the port. Supermarkets, takeaways, pubs and cafes are a short walk away. Some walks. Cons: No services. No bins. There are clean public toilets at the port. There is also a water tap with a long yellow hose at the port beside the docked trawlers. I enquired if this was drinking water and 2 local people said it was. So we filled up and we drink our water from the fresh . Spar and SuperValu have supermarkets here. All the local pubs serving food were open adhering to covid-19 regulations. The church was open during the day again adhering to covid-19 regulations. We went for an 8km loop walk on very quiet country roads downloaded from wikiloc.com. It was raining so the views were poor. The chips from the van (West Coast Grill) on the town square were disappointing as they were frozen and not freshly made. We spent 2 nights here. The first night a Thursday was very quiet and could hear the distant hum of the trawlers generators. The second night some local cars had noticeable music (not over loud) in the carpark. Bugs/Mosquitoes. (They love us..) Got one bite out for the hike but it was muggy. Other than that no other bites.

Lovely free Aire. no facilities but a nice spot by river. we purchased family meals from the the nearby Indian take away, went to the bar down the road for drinks and live music (Friday night) then shopped at the local supermarket on the way out in the morning. Excellent :-) It would be great if they could put at least a fresh water supply and a drain in for future.

Lovely little town. Friendly and welcoming. Near a Chinese restaurant/take-away which is great value. Quiet location. Water tap and toilets can be found in parking lot in marina. Lots of local shops. Tourist information nearby.

Parking prévu avec au moins 6 emplacements larges, nuit très calme. Je confirme, pas de service et pas de poubelle. Les toilettes sont sur le port . On peut se garer devant.

Merci a la ville pour ces emplacements gratuits, du rares en Irlande. Espérons qu'ils seront bientôt dotés de vidanges d'eau Grise et Noire (toilets). Et pourquoi pas d'eau potable. Puisse la commune exaucer nos souhaits. Merci la ville

Les emplacements délimités sont très bien. Par contre nous n'avons pas trouvé a proximité, ni poubelle, ni toilettes publiques comme on pouvait s'y attendre en voyant les pictogrammes (icônes) de l'appli. A environ 800m il y a bien les toilettes publiques du port. mais faut traverser le village. La plupart des poubelles sont fermées a clé. On ignore encore pourquoi. En tout cas merci a la ville.

Only had lunch here but it has been well set up in the model of many French village/small town Aires.
