Nice, quiet overnight spot but the toilets are closed. Deducted credits from my waterways card for the shower then wouldn't open. No signs indicating they are closed for the season.

Mickduffy202410/08/2025good luck finding parking in there, major working marina, mostly cars parked as the place is full of boats, went the other side of the bridge, had the usual boys in cars, they stayed to 12pm then left, but were not too noisy
andrewed29/09/2024We parked on the road at the beginning of the pontoon area. The only free space. Busy and noisy by day, with maintenance of a fleet of motor cruisers. Quiet at night. Water on the pontoons but too far to walk. Good location for walking into town. Make sure to turn right across the bridge to visit a fascinating fort before going into town. Flynns pub serves excellent food and is friendly.

Tom10108/06/2024Es gibt ein paar wenige Plätze gleich nach der Einfahrt linka nach der Hauptstrasse für kleinere Fahrzeuge. Grössere Wohnmobile können nach Auskunft der Capitainerie der Marina entlang der Ringstrasse in der Nähe der Slipanlage parken. Wir haben eine ruhige Nacht verbracht. Der kleine Ort zeichnet sich durch ein paar Pubs aus, wo es Musik und Essen gibt. Ideal für den Besuch von Athlone tagsüber.
lameute7905/11/2023Beau spot à première vue, l'aire de jeux pour les enfants à côté est sympa . Les inconvénients : les douches et toilettes ne sont pas disponibles, et hier soir beaucoup d'aller et venues de voitures jusqu'à minuit . Le matin c'était bien calme et agréable.

Stayed Saturday night Feb 2023. Parked lengthways along edge of river/Marina. Quiet night, no hassle, we were the only overnight stay (no signs objecting to it). 1 small bin, few water taps, toilets/shower block with Waterways card (though still locked at 830am Sunday). Close to village, coffee dock, Supervalu, great pub - J.J. Houghs Singing Pub.

What a beautiful place. we arrived after 5pm and place was still busy. we asked at reception and they let us park in the grass area overnight. beautiful views of the river and boats passing. dog friendly bar/restaurant Flynn's round the corner, had a lovely meal there. public toilets close by and water taps available to fill up around the marina beside the park. such a lovely village

Myself + pal (2 VW T4 vans) stayed 2 nights here. Lovely little park up. Super friendly locals, and boaters. Great, non touristy town with gorgeous cafe (The Crank House) + fab pub ( JJ Houghs) plus lovely historical buildings. 2nd loo from the left is always open. Showers need river card - we swam instead. Early eve some ‘noisy’ cars but not after about 9 or so. Lovely quiet sleep.

Didn’t stay there for the night but nice spot. If you want to have access to the shower, you have to buy a smart card at Silverline cruisers, the office is a little further by the water. You’ll have access to the shower along Shannon this way

Good spot on the river shannon , clean toilets free to use . Showers available at a little cost . Shops pubs a couple of minutes walk away.
